Deep Mourning as Christine Gikandi’s Mom Passes On in Kenya

rest in eternal peaceWith great shock and deep sorrow, the family of Chrstine Gikandi announces the passing of their mom who departed yesterday evening after a short illness. Consequently, an “Open House” has been set up at Christine’s residence located at St Göransgatan 98 in Fridhemsplan in Stockholm While the “Christine Family Support Committee in Stockholm” has also been established. The Committee is being chaired by Mr. Martin Ngatia.

As messages of condolences begin to pour in, friends, relatives, well-wishers and sympathizers are congregating daily at Christine’s residence to condole with the bereaved family. When KSB reached Christine, she was still in deep shock and trying to come to grips with the sudden, tragic, new and unexpected development.

The sad news came barely a month after Gikandi returned from Kenya to visit her mom whom, she told KSB, appeared to have been in good health.

The death has plunged the entire family into mourning the passing of a dear mom, a sister, an aunt and a friend to the many people who knew and loved her.

A “Prayer Meeting” is scheduled for Saturday, 4th April 2015 at Christine’s residence from 15.00 hrs. Christine is planning to travel home as soon as possible to be with her family during this difficult moment of grief.

KSB sends deep condolences to Christine’s family and hope that those left behind will find the necessary strength and courage to live through the lonely times occasioned by the departure of a loved member.

Christine’s mom will be greatly missed by all those who knew her as a kind hearted, humble, responsible and religious servant of the Lord whose family donated a piece of land for the building of a Church which grew to become well established in her home area.

In Kenya-Stockholm, her daughter Christine, is well known for her solidarity with Kenyans especially during difficult times of need. As they say, what goes around comes around.
