Resposible thinking and talking heads from all over the interllectual,policy based institutions ,seem to have come to acknownedge the power of the pen .There is a growing movement within political circles to grant writers and those with the gift of writing a greater say in the management of civic institutions.This l do put down as the beginning of a wider conversation on the role of the media in the a democratic society.Its incumbent upon us,those who have have had the chance to be opportuned to witness democracy at its worst under silent and brutal dictatorship.Its now the time to grapple with our worst fears .It is also the best opportunity to revel in new found sense of civic responsiblity that was displayed over the weekend ,at FrungenIP.I believe it can be built to be a larger theme that it was.Anthony Odera
