Once again, the dark hand of death has reached into the midst of our community in Stockholm and carried away one of the precious lights that illuminated the entire family of Prisca Forsman.
It is with profound sorrow and indescribable sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Atieno Oganga, who departed this life on 2nd June 2026 while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital in Kenya. She was 80 years old.
Grace was the beloved elder sister of Prisca Forsman and the cherished aunt of Lavinia Akoth. As the eldest in the family, she stood like an enduring pillar upon which generations leaned for guidance, wisdom and stability. Her voice brought reassurance, her presence inspired unity, and her counsel carried the authority that only age, sacrifice and experience can bestow. Today, that mighty tree has fallen, leaving behind a silence that words can scarcely describe.
Death, that relentless and unsparing adversary of humanity, has once again demonstrated its cruel indifference. It neither consults nor negotiates. It simply arrives and tears apart bonds painstakingly built over decades.
Yet even in its apparent triumph, death cannot extinguish the memories, values and love that Grace sowed throughout her lifetime. Her legacy remains etched in the hearts of her family and all those privileged enough to know her.
The family is currently engulfed in grief following this painful loss. Prisca is making preparations to travel home and accord her beloved sister a dignified farewell. Friends, relatives, sympathizers and well-wishers continue to send messages of comfort and solidarity as the family navigates this season of mourning.
Grace Atieno Oganga will be laid to rest on 19th June 2026 in Kamagambo, Migori County.
As funeral preparations continue, the family humbly appeals for financial support to facilitate the burial arrangements.
Those wishing to visit and condole with the family are kindly requested to call the information number.
Though the earthly journey of Grace Atieno Oganga has come to an end, the fragrance of her life, the wisdom she imparted and the love she shared shall continue to echo through generations.
May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
