Last Friday and Saturday were very busy days for active Kenyans and friends in Stockholm. On Friday, DJ Jimmy had a fund raising following the death of his mother in law while Queen Johansson also had a funds drive at her residence following the passing away of her sister in Kenya.
On Saturday, there was the Nyama Choma at Fittja Beach thrown by the Sound of Blackness. After the grill party, which was well attended, revelers were invited to the Redline Disco in Sätra for an all night disco. Another disco party was taking place at Norrbackaskolan in Märsta where the Hamsini group had thrown a unique bash where attendance was by invitation only. Apart from free entrance, both food and drinks were also free.
While everything appears to have gone well, problems have arisen following the Jimmy fund raising. A group of Kenyans have claimed that DJ Jimmy was trying to cone Kenyans out of their money by claiming that he had lost his mother in law.
According to this school of thought, DJ Jimmy does not have any mother in law because he is single and, according to pundits, he is not known to have been married in the past to warrant having a mother in law.
Some girls even called KSB trying to establish the validity of the harambee because in their minds, DJ Jimmy is a fresh bachelor who has been available for takes and that the question of him having a mother in law should not arise.
The rumours have been so hot that DJ Jimmy has taken contact with KSB to clarify the matter as a matter of public concern.
According to the DJ, he is not in the habit of conning people and those spreading malicious rumours that he may have conned anybody out of their money might be habouring a different agenda. He said that he has a daughter in Kenya mothered by his ex and that it is the grandmother of his daughter who passed away.
He told KSB that he still has attachments to his daughter’s grandmother through the daughter, arguing that the fact that he split with his daughter’s mother does not mean that he also seized to have a mother in law.
He advised those who would like to know the details about the matter to get in touch with him for explanations instead of spreading propaganda against his good name.
He added that those spreading the false stories about his Friday harambee do not know his background and that they are simply driven by enmity and jealousy for unknown reasons. He thanked Kenyans and friends who attended the fund raising and advised that those who know him well should ignore the rumours.
