Late Hussein’s “Open House” Sessions Terminated

The Hussein Funeral Committee would like to inform all friends, supporters and sympathizers that the “Open House” at the late Hussein apartment at Skarpnäck has been terminated because the house has been reposed by the Swedish authorities.

A short message to KSB by the Committee said that further information will be made available at a later date. In the meantime, the “Dinner sessions” planned at Sollentuna will continue as part of the fund raising strategy to transport Hussein’s body to Uganda for burial. Mourners are therefore advised not to show up at the house because there will be no reception there.

Less than 3,000 Kr Raised at Agness Harambee

Although KSB agents were too engaged over the weekend, reports reaching headquarters say that less than 3,000 kr was raised at the Agness harambee, a Kenyan woman currently trying to raise funds to finance a ticket for her sick daughter in Kenya.

An agent operating an underground radio station at Bagarmossen broadcast a message saying that the harambee was poorly attended with less than 10 Kenyans present. Just before the event, some commentators had taken strong positions not to attend the harambee arguing that Agnes ought to raise the funds by herself since the amount needed did not warrant a funds drive.

Another commentator suggested that Agnes could go for a Bank loan to sought out the problem, arguing that calling the harambee amounted to abusing the “harambee spirit”.

The failure is in sharp contrast to the case of Ochieng Nyambok funds drive where over 30,000 kr was raised on the same day the Agness harambee was taking place. The two harambees have rekindled debate in Kenya-Stockholm, not because harambees are new but because one was hugely successful while another one is seen to have been a total failure. The poor attendance of the Agnes harambee indicates that the initiative had no support among the Kenya-Stockholm community.

The poor result is a major draw back to attempts by Agness to bring her daughter to Sweden. The Kenyan woman may have to go back to the drawing board to work out a new strategy for the Ticket project.

Over 30,000 Kr Raised for Bereaved Nyambok

Following the loss of the eldest daughter of the Nyamboks, Kenyans congregated at Märsta on Saturday to condole and show solidarity with the bereaved family. A fund raising that was called by the “Ochieng Nyambok Funeral Committee” raised 31.900 kr.

Consequently, Mr. Nyambok, his wife and little daughter will leave Stockholm for Kenya on Wednesday September 2nd to attend the burial of their 29 year old daughter who passed away after falling ill. The burial will take place on Sunday September 6th at Kabondo in South Nyanza.

The Nyambok Committee was headed by Mr. Oyuga Odada with Mr. Charles Otieno Owiyo as the Secretary. Speaking in Märsta on Sunday evening at the residence of the Nyamboks, Mr. Odada thanked everybody who turned up to support the Nyamboks. He thanked Kenyans for showing solidarity with the bereaved family.

The target of the Committee was to ensure that the Nyambok family travels to Kenya to attend the funeral, a feat which, Mr. Odada said, had been met. He thanked the Committee for working tirelessly to ensure that the Committee’s main objective was achieved.

The Nyambok funeral Committee was dissolved on Sunday 29th August after all outstanding issues were resolved. Speaking to KSB after the dissolution of the Committee, Mr. Nyambok said that he greatly appreciated the solidarity of friends, well wishers and sympathizers who congregated at Märsta to support him and family during a difficult moment.

The fund raising function incorporated an all night disco with DJ Jimmy nyakwar Oyundi spinning. “The last man standing” left the Party at 12.08 hrs on Sunday August 29th 2009 and his name has been restricted “in an envelope” as per agreements with KSB. KSB takes this opportunity to congratulate the Nyambok Committee for a work well done.

The Dilema With the Hepatitis Crisis

There is a growing number of Kenyans who do not know what to do following the abrupt outbreak of the Hepatitis crisis. While the scandal may have been a “passing cloud”, serious enquiries at KSB by concerned personalities indicate that the so called scandal may have advanced into a serious health threat that may have put some lives in danger, wrecked others and left others in a state of deep anxiety.

The health threat emerges when suddenly, it becomes apparent that there is a good line up of Kenya-Stockholm girls who loyally spread out their legs for the Hepa dude under circumstances that may have exposed them to infection.

At least two have claimed that they simply had a one night stand but the problem is that although the girls have said that they used protection, there is still no condom when it comes to kissing. Given that Hepa can be transmitted through saliva (at least according to some medical experts), there is now no telling who has and who hasn’t picked up Hepa especially within the known or imaginary “Hepa net”.

Some paperless girls who were simply “testing out things” to see if there could be any “paper development” reportedly allowed their pants “to be peeled down to their ankles” as a way of making contact but now, they are in a quandary following the eruption of the Hepa scandal.

However, the biggest problem is that girls who are said to have engaged the alleged Hepa guy (we have no evidence that he has it) are also said to have been distributing the goods liberally as part of the “Paper hunting” strategy. Since some articulations were one night stands, the girls then proceeded to peddle the goods even further within the Kenya-Stockholm community and, according to rumour experts, only Kenyans who have been zero grazing may be out of danger. It is a typical case where your old cow you have been milking “for generations” may have saved you from serious danger.

At Vasa Temple, there is no doubt in the minds of some leading Kenya-Stockholm gossipers about the extent of the problem. According to a Kenyan currently writing his thesis on “Authenticity of the word of mouth” and who took contact with KSB, “any Kenyan dude or dudette who is unattached and who has been liberal when it comes to hanyaring should go for a Hepa test”. That is how it goes.

Initially, it was like this was just another KSB scandal that would fade away with time but in reality, it is the situation that is getting desperate with time. Another problem is that nobody can ever point a finger at a specific Kenyan and claim that he may have been responsible because there is no proof. What we have are rumours and propaganda. The only credible source which could be cited is a contact who claimed in an sms (msge on file) that he or she knows that the guy in question is the Hepa guy.

One big problem within Kenyans in Stockholm is that there are people who are very good in germinating rumours to attack or get to a perceived enemy. Since there has been no evidence presented in this case, what are the chances that the story is not true? I know of a case in which some Kenyans claimed that a fellow citizen was suffering from Aids. When the rumours reached fever pitch, the Kenyan approached KSB with a medical report signed by a Swedish doctor and which showed that the Kenyan was negative.

Does the woman know about it?

When rumours was spreading some times back that the Kenyan was positive, the thing appeared so real, just like in the current Hepa case. Given that so far, no evidence has been presented, is it OK for the entire Kenyan community to go by the script that there is a Hepa guy on the loose or should there be new and extra steps by members of the Kenya Stockholm community to dig into the truth of the matter with a view to limiting the damage or spread of this untreatable disease? The background is that in Sweden, it is a criminal offence to knowingly spread a disease like Hepa and the penalty is jail.

Look at it this way. This is a guy who is believed to be married so there is a woman in Stockholm who is also feeling the heat especially when the Hepa subject pops up. This woman (if the story is true) has friends and good contacts. When she reads in the blog that his guy is the Hepa culprit, she ought to be affected as a human being. Obviously, if the story is true, then she knows about it and if it is not, then she still remains one person who ought to be in the know.

It is impossible for your guy to be infected with Hepa and still remain without a strategy on how to handle the matter so the assumption must be that the couple may have reached their own personal deals especially on the question of hanyaring. I am raising this point because if the guy has been hanyaring at the rate that is being estimated by observers, the wifero must know about it.

If she has not yet done anything, then the guy could be hanyaring outside with her consent and if this is the case, there is no telling whether the woman is also being hanyad by some vikaria stationed somewhere. To cut a long story, we could be dealing with a case in which agreements had been made leaving the guy a free spirit in the hanya field. What may not have been part of the vision was the possibility of being caught and the story spreading in Kenya Stockholm.

There is one certain thing. Whoever leaked the story must be having nuts to crack with the guy. If you don’t have people fighting you in Kenya-Stockholm, then you are just an “ordinary person” who could pass for an odiangabuk. The more you are attacked in Kenya-Stockholm, the more you become more of a celeb. Assuming that the Hepa story is not true, then it is the enemy who has had his/her day in town. However, if the story is true, then Kenya-Stockholmers could be facing a deep crisis. As for now, there is a general uncertainty about what needs to be done to straighten up things because no one is ready or willing to take any bold action that may put the matter to rest. We are in a situation where the Hepa story could be real or it could be sheer propaganda. What we can confirm is that the information was transmitted and we have evidence.

What cannot be confirmed is whether the information which was transmitted was true or false. Who will do the confirmation, whether positive or negative? Before this can be done, talk about the Hepa guy will remain a rumour. This is the dilemma with the Hepa story.

KSB Conducting Opinion Poll on Scandals

As many readers may have noticed, KSB is conducting an Opinion poll to establish what our readers think about reporting of scandals which has been a hot issue with some readers saying that scandals should not be reported and others insisting that scandals ought to be part of the KSB system.

After 34 votes were cast, those who think that scandals should never be purged from KSB are on the lead with 56%, those who say “No” are at 24% while those who would like to be reading scandals occasionally are at 21%.

What the statistics mean is that KSB readership is generally in favour of “Scandal reports”. The poll is running until September 1st and although the “Yes” sayers are currently in the lead, anything can still happen.

The Opinion poll is part of the democratization process at KSB so that readers can have a say especially on the thorny issues of reporting scandals. In the meantime, scandals that could have hit the headlines by now have been kept on hold as the final outcome of the poll is awaited. Some scandals are so scary that they have had to be sealed in a banker to prevent leakage.

A few days ago, a scandal seeker fired a rocket at KSB’s “Scandal depot” located at WordPress avenue and the damage was extensive. Following the attack, at least four scandals leaked out causing too much gossip in Kenya Stockholm as rumour mills did “booming business”.

After they leaked from the depot, the scandals were carried away by the wind which spread them all over the place. By the time it became apparent that the scandals had leaked, serious “collateral damage” had also been done because some commentators seized on the opportunity to roll out new and unknown scandals in an attempt to widen the scope of discussions, increase gossip levels and expand the scope of rumour mongering in Kenya-Stockholm.

Among the scandals that leaked out was the Hepatitis scandal (which has since been renamed “Typhoon Hepa” by experts), the scandal of the wife who has refused to return to Kenya and the Alicia scandal which shocked some readers.

Technicians at KSB had to work overtime to seal all the holes through which the scandals leaked although damage had already been done. Since then, security at KSB’s scandal plant has been beefed up through the installation of new and advanced systems, security cameras and other gadgets.

For now, the situation is under control although there is no guarantee that “Al-Wanascandali” will not try a new attack that may overwhelm security at the plant leading to a new explosion of new and even more lethal scandals. We hope that readers will vote wisely during the Opinion poll whose result will be respected by KSB reagrdless of the outcome.

In Case U4Got: Kenya Band at Södra Bar Today

Sauti Sol Band members

Sauti Sol Band members

The multi-talented Sauti Sol will perform at Södra Teatern on Thursday September 3rd 2009 at the Södra Bar. According to Mr. Robert Waweru, Director and Producer of “Penya Africa” who communicated with KSB, the performance is part of Sauti Sol’s European tour which will end in the Netherlands in September. The show begins at 21.00 hrs and the big news is that entrance will be free.

The African acoustic band consists of 4 members; Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Delvin Mudigi and Polycarp Otieno who met in high school and originally started as an accapella group.

When they cleared their O-levels in the year 2005 they decided to take up music professionally. The band is inspired by the choices, consequences and challenges that the Kenyan youth face and the need to revamp the music industry with a different unique sound that cuts across all age groups. Musically, they are inspired by Fadhili Williams, Daudi Kabaka and other established African artists such as Salif Keita and Lokua Kanza.

Alliance Francaise in Nairobi has been their haven. They were finalists of the Spotlight on Kenyan Music 2006. They have had several shows at the Alliance Francaise since 2006, and in 2008 April they held their first solo-concert at the same venue. With a new released album called “Mwanzo” the response has been magnificent and overwhelming.

Their music is uniquely soothing and well rounded with their own infectious vibe and message. The album is a fusion of African sound with an urban feel; most of the songs are extremely well received when performed live among Sauti’s continuously growing fan-base.

The text is an adaptation of the official promotional text also available HERE.

Hussein’s “Open House”- Time Confusion & Wrong Contacts

We, the committee concerned with Hussein’s burial arrangements wish to, from the deepest of our hearts, apologize for the misconception that occurred on the 22nd of August 2009 when some of you well-wishers came by Hussein’s house in Skarpnäck and found none of us Committee members. We would like to clarify the time issue: the open house is from 18.00  hours (six o’clock) evening, every day up to the 4th of September 2009. If in need of any information whatsoever, please call these lines: 073 444 99 70, 070 624 44 11.

Crisis as Hussein’s “Open House” Remains Closed

There is a general crisis about the fundraising initiatives of the Hussein Funeral Committee because the “Open House” the Committee had announced will be on a daily basis remained closed as we went to press on Saturday August 22nd at 18.40 Swedish time.

Four contacts who are said to have been responsible have switched off their phones and cannot therefore be reached while, according to a source who spoke to KSB, one key contact who has been responsible for disseminating information was in Finland as the Hussein’s flat remained locked.

Makan, a Kenyan national who went to the residence to condole with the family and at least two other contacts called KSB to say that there was nobody at the residence which, they said, remained locked.

This is a big embarrassment because the “Open House” is a key fund raising strategy to help transport Hussein’s body to Uganda. For many Kenyans who have called KSB seeking further direction, it is unthinkable that following the death of a member of the East African community, his “Open House” sessions which had been publicized through KSB and SMS remained “closed.

KSB has decided to go out with this information because we too, have been unable to make contacts with a single member of the Funeral Committee. We have been unable to reach Mr. George, a Ugandan who has been dealing with the matter while Huda, a Ugandan lady who has been in touch with KSB over the phone and who is also in charge, could also not be reached on her phone number which was published at KSB as the key contact for people seeking further information over the Hussein matter.

When one calls the number, one is redirected to another number before the line goes dead. Many Kenyans are very concerned because the closure of Hussein’s House after the announcement that it would remain “Open” is extremely strange. We appeal to members of the Hussein committee to take action and to clarify why the “Open House” has remained closed despite public announcement that it would remain “Open”.

The continued close down of the Hussein’s flat does not auger well for the fund raising activities while it brings confusion. We hope that the matter will be sorted out by those in charge as soon as possible. Hussein was a very responsible person and his funeral arrangements should not be bogged down due to lack of responsibility.
