The Moses Njenga’s Pre-wedding videos have been retired from KSB because the presence of the videos at the blog site and at Youtube is creating a lot of anxiety to the young couple. Although the event was public, the couple did not understand that the videos would be broadcast at KSB through Youtube. After lengthy discussions with the couple, KSB management has come to the conclusion that it would be better for the videos to be retired from the blog site in the private interest of the young couple preparing for their wedding in Kenya.
The couple understands that under Laws governing freedom of information especially of public events, there is no legal basis for retiring the videos and the move to do so has been done after a careful consideration of the main private circumstances presented to KSB.
The videos are in no way obnoxious, pornographic, libelous, defamatory or out of tune as per accepted rules of engagement. In other words, there is no legal basis of pulling them down and the move has been made as an amicable compromise to enable the couple be at peace as they prepare for their wedding. It is not a precedent-setting case and KSB does not expect a stream of requests for material to be retired.
Because the couple is averse to publicity of the pre-wedding, and because of acceptable reasons that have been presented in detail to KSB by the couple, it has been decided that the videos be retired through “Executive Orders” conferred upon the President of the Republic KSB. Such orders are executed from time to time at KSB. This notice is to enable those who have watched the videos to be spared from surprise when the clips go missing at the blog.
We hope that the this action will be good news to the couple preparing for their wedding in August. KSB does not exist to agonize or antagonize but to inform and promote unity within the Kenyan community in Stockholm. Obviously, the Pre-wedding was a fantastic, happy and memorable moment and, under the circumstances, we believe that if the videos have become a source of embarrassment, anxiety or concern to those affected, it would be in the interest of peace and tranquility that they be retired.
The event was filmed in good faith with the purpose of “information dissemination” but since the couple has politely raised credible concerns, we wish to honor their humble request that the videos be retired. Having been shot at a public function and in broad view, we appreciate the understanding of the couple that the retirement of the videos from KSB is legally reversible and that the action has been taken in the spirit of brother/sisterhood. We apologize to readers who may disagree.
