This is to inform the Kenya-Stockholm public that following the death of Mrs. Millie Nyambok’s sister in Kenya, a Committee has been set up to help organize a fund raising in solidarity with Mrs. Millie Nyambok and her bereaved family. Millie is planning to travel to Kenya to attend her sister’s funeral. The sister passed away after a short illness.

The Committee, which was established at a meeting held at the residence of Mr. Nyambok, is headed by Mr. Mark Gaya assisted by Mr. Charles Otieno Owiyo (Treasurer), Mrs. Teresa Mawa (Secretary) among others.

According to Mr. Mark Gaya who spoke to KSB, the Committee has decided to organize the harambee on Friday, May 30th at the residence of Mr. Ochieng Nyambok located at Fröjasvägen 21 in Nyneshamn from 14.00 Hrs.

Mr. Mark Gaya said that initially, the Millie harambee was scheduled for Saturday 31st May but that due to circumstances beyond the Committee’s control, the harambee has been moved to Friday, 30th May. Mr. Gaya added that the Committee has now embarked on mobilization of Kenyans, friends, well-wishers and sympathizers alike towards the harambee.

In the meantime, an “Open House” at the Nyamboks continues daily where friends and people of good will continue to condole with the bereaved family following the loss of a loved member. The Nyambok family is known among Kenyans for showing solidarity in situations of need and Mr. Gaya appealed to those concerned to reciprocate on Friday and help make the fund raising exercise a success. In the meantime, friends continue to send messages of condolences to the family as funeral arrangements in Kenya also continue.
