Keegan harambee Date Set For Saturday December 7th
Following the death of Keegan Kagwe, a fund raising date has been set for Saturday, 7th December 2013 at a venue to be announced later. The decision was taken at a Prayer meeting held yesterday at Keegan’s residence in Hökarängen which was attended by several Kenyans, friends and sympathizers.
The task of the Harambee will be to raise SEK 80k for both body transportation cost and three air tickets for Mama Keegan and Keegan’s two daughters who will accompany the body for burial in Kenya.
The “Club 1000” Program has been set in motion by the Keegan Committee led by Ndugu Sandy. So far, 15 patriots have signed up for the Club which means that the funds drive is already at SEK 15k. The Club needs the in-put of more Kenyans to boost the Harambee effort ahead of December 7th, the big day. A list of candidates for Club 1000 has been drawn using contacts of Committee members and recruitment continues.
For those who may not make it to the Harambee or those who would like to send their contributions in the cause of time, a bank account has been set up at Swedbank where all contributions can be channelled. The account number is 8327-9,904748493-7. When making deposits, contributors are encouraged to indicate their names for purposes of accountability.
An “Open House” continues to run daily at Keegan’s residence and all mourners are welcome. A condolence book has also been availed at the “Open House” where mourners can continue to register their sympathies with the family.
The Committee has thanked all Kenyans who have so far shown solidarity with the Keegan family following the loss of their loved one. Updates will continue to run at KSB so keep tuned.
