Makozewe: Since the election debacle, I am very disturbed with the anti-Luo anti-Kikuyu hate speeches online especially on Social Media. In Stockholm alone, I have over 200 Kikuyu and Luo friends. I am disturbed because the Kikuyus and Luos whom I know are not the same ones being described on Social Media.
Osewe I hear and feel what you are saying. It is shocking how things can go to the dogs in the twinkle of en eye. In my opinion the tribal sentiments being expressed have actually been suppressed for a long time, and the election is just but a psychological catalyst that exposes them.
Supporting your preferred candidate, even if the choice is made solely on the merit of that candidate being from your tribe, is no reason to hate another Kenya who coincidentally is doing precisely the same thing. What I think sets off this tirade of abuse is the unfortunate fact that many Kenyans seem to want, even need, to measure their success with that of the collective which is in this case tribe. Their own personal achievements may be insignificant but when the candidates are mentioned they taken on this persons mantel as their own, hence the bitter exchange of words. This is fundamentally a problem in recognizing who you are as an individual and taking pride in yourself even if your achievements are not comparable to the economic scions in our communities where ever they be. That is why a Kenyan working in a minimum wage job will feel ashamed and go to any lengths to hide this fact, instead of looking at the positive aspect being proud of not being dependent on anyone for their livelihood. Our values need to be overhauled if Kenya is to survive as a cohesive nation of diverse communities.
The Luo-Kikuyu-Kalenjin problem is something we must fix now
Let us just speak the truth here. You can choose to disagree, but the fact is: we are in a more dangerous precipice than we have ever been. Let us just admit it, we all got to the voting boot, the tribe in us came calling. So should we should not really hate ourselves, rather we should build a reality around this premise.
90% of Kikuyus don’t hold a favorable opinion of the Luo community. The many Kikuyus I have spoken to, think of the Luos as loud and arrogant without even the slightest grasp of what business is. In fact I just lost a prospective girlfriend/wife for being a Raila sympathizer.
90% of Luos don’t hold a positive attitude towards the Kikuyu community. The many Luo friends who have spoken to me have proclaimed the usual stereotypes of Kikuyus being thieves with a maniacal obsession with money. These stereotypes are a part of our everyday discourse. Some take it with a light touch. Some loathe it. But even in our local comedy, we exploit them to the bone.
The Luo-Kikuyu problem has been there and it is not going anywhere. We should be thankful that the two communities don’t share a border; otherwise the history of this country will be very much different. The mutual contempt, hatred and prejudice cannot be wished away. Even the voting patterns reflect this sad, if shameful state of affairs. It is always like a protest that the other tribes will pick on whom to side with under the able guidance of their tribal chieftains who switch sides more frequently than you wink in a day.
As one Ugandan journalist put it: the fact that Uhuru and Raila received more than 95% of the votes cast in their respective strongholds is already an unhealthy situation for country that ascribes to democracy. I couldn’t agree more. But as the argument goes, the Luos have ever supported a Kikuyu for the top position. Legend has it that Oginga Odinga unselfishly refused to take the presidency in 1963 until Kenyatta could be released from jail. When Kenyatta got out of jail, Odinga agreed to deputize him. A few years down the line, ideological differences drove former friends apart with something historic happening in Kisumu in 1969, the year Tom Mboya was assassinated.
The fall-out consigned the Luos to a life of misery where they had little in the way government goodies, given how they used to be distributed. When Moi took over, the man who wanted to overthrow him was also a Luo and the misery continued. The fact that the Luos (and the many others opposed the dictatorship of Moi), meant that there were fewer Luos in top government jobs.
In 2002, Raila declared ‘Kibaki Tosha’ and that effectively removed the dictatorship of Moi. In 2007, we all know what happened and Raila was still forced to play second fiddle. Many have come to accuse the Odingas of naïve complacent that has been costly. Where some see an unselfish trait, a trait that wants the best for the country, others sees utter buffoonery and the conclusion many have arrived at is that the Kikuyus will never, ever, ever vote for anyone who is not one of them. It is their democratic right, but we will scrutinize that in a moment.
This mutual and cancerous hatred is one of the worst social construct and a tragedy of the 21st century. It is so poisonous that the sense of disillusionment among my Luo friends is not good at all. I watched as they beamed image of Kenyans happy for the Jubilee victory across the country. The towns showed included Nyahururu, Nyeri, Kikuyu and Murang’a. There were other crowds in Nairobi and Nakuru, but going by many factors, linguistic and physical, one could easily tell that they were specifically lauding the Uhuru presidency and thanking Ruto for delivering the victory. What many Kenyans are adamantly sure is that the same crowd cannot vote for Ruto if he vied for the presidency even if he was pitied against Satan.
The result of the elections, while predictable, shocked the country and the whole country was torn into two parts. No blood was shed, there were no policemen climbing perimeter walls or teargas canisters being lobbed to disperse crowds. But we have never been more divided as a country since independence. And we are headed down a terribly slippery road that will tear the country down forever.
The fact that the most qualified and the least corrupt leaders received less than 60,000 votes goes to show that as a country we hate progressive ideas and these things will stick with us. But how can we cure these suspicions?
I have had an opportunity to be a student leader at the biggest and the best university in the region and that is where Kikuyu/Luo bad blood is nightmarish. Every leadership and managerial positions are perceived from the Luo-Kikuyu matrix. In fact the Facebook fan page of the students of the said university will best capture the contempt students from these two communities harbor for each other. It often gets uglier and even the management of the university is cognizant of the fact and tries as much as possible to address the issues. Actually, the university is divided through the ethnic divide but somehow it functions pretty well.
Those afraid of the Luos, do so out of ignorance and a refusal to embrace the bigger picture. The same can be said for the Kikuyu. Those of us who come from other communities subscribe to the laid down stereotypes and often it is a question of choosing the lesser devil.
But true leadership is about bridging the gaps. Disabusing Kenyans of tribalism and we start talking about sharing and redistributing the wealth much more equitably. After all, haven’t we discovered oil recently? The economic prospects have never looked better and grimmer at the same time. The next couple of months will determine the path we will take. It hurts.
If we embrace one another and clamour for better and credible institutions, we will stop the belief that your tribe, if in power is a source of wealth. Differences will always be there. Not that the Germans care so much about the French. Nor do the Italians care so much about the Spanish. But with proper structures, our prejudices will remain just that; prejudices.
And now the Kalenjin have joined the fray. How sad! These three tribe vote for their tribal chief overwhelmingly and that contributes to our instability since the numbers will always favour the majority who occupy a smaller geographical region.
By me, until power moves from the two communities to other communities, that psychological leap, necessary for development will not be achieved. If life was fair, Raila should be the next president and then we break away from all these leaders and focus the Peter Kenneths and Kiyapis of this world. But that is wishful thinking. It seems we are more determined to remain tribal until something really nasty awakens us. God forbid.
As of now, it remains, one half of the country, which is almost 90 % of the tribes in Kenya is not very happy with the outcome of elections. The other half’s half is unsure of the coalition and the only people contented with it are people from Central. They really need to rethink this. For the nation to get over this hangover, we should embrace other candidates as well. Our democracy is as such. For now, the time proven stereotype that they will never vote elsewhere will always portray them in a bad light to many people.
Yet as Chimamanda Adichie said, stereotypes are not so much untrue, as they are incomplete. This is the platform from which we must have this discourse. Otherwise, we might run out of sand to bury our heads and the carpet to sweep the dirt.

Luo Men And Kikuyu Women Not Compatible, Fidel Vs Veronica
Abstract
This essay analyzes the reasons for the then impending divorce between Fidel Odinga and Veronica Wanjiru.Several reasons apply in the divorce between these two young people.Incompatibility between Luo men and Kikuyu women is cited as a general reason, specific reasons cited include love of money by kikuyu women, poor sex performance by many kikuyu women and the sex craziness among Luo men and women. The conclusion drawn is that Wanjiru is the cause of all marriage problems facing the Fidel family. It is recommended that Fidel runs away from the sewage rat as soon as possible and stop associating with sewage rats and mongooses of similar background. It is also recommended that he finds a genuine true love from the lake region. All Luo men are also advised to give Kikuyu women a wide berth when it comes to marriage especially those one from Kiambu and Nyeri.
Introduction
Much has been said about the impending divorce between Fidel, a Luo man, and Wanjiru, a Kikuyu woman. In order to understand the dynamics which may have led to the divorce, it is good to bring some facts into perspective. The general reasons which may have led to the divorce oscillate around the general relationship between the Kikuyu and the Luo and the Kikuyu love for money. As much as much vitriol has been thrown towards Fidel, facts staring at us in the face point to the contrary. Some of these attacks on the young man are just but proxy attacks on his father with political motivation. Many mongooses have commented on the issue including here in Klist. All of them have been with intent to bring the family of the Jakom into disrepute. But they are bound to fail when the real truth comes out!It has even been said that the marriage was a ploy by Jakom to get votes from Yokozuna consumers.Kwani the woman was that stupid to be used as a pawn?
This listing discusses the above factors in relation to the divorce between Fidel and Wairimu.
1.0 Compatibility between Kikuyu Women and Luo Men
Luo men have never been compatible with Kikuyu women as far as marriage is concerned. The only relationship which can be sustained between a Kikuyu woman and a Luo man is the Mpango wa Kando type of relationship.Even with this, sustainability will depend on how rich the Luo man in the relationship is.This will be discussed further in bullet 4.0.This incompatibility stems from the diverse culture between the Luo and the Kikuyu. While the Luo cherish extended social relationships with attendant generosity, the Kikuyu are a very selfish people who think only about themselves and their nuclear family. In this regard,a Kikuyu woman is not likely to entertain the Luo husband bringing the great grandson of his unlce’s brother in law’s daughter to stay with them. This will strain the relationship beyond repair. Usually any Luo man intending to marry a Kikuyu woman is sternly warned against it and told to go ahead at his own peril. There is a cousin of mine who went through these warnings but he went ahead and married the Nyarabuon. They are now divorced after she almost uprooted his penis after some quarrels
2.0 Luo men and Sex
A luo man is a sexy animal. He values sex more than money. This is manifested in the rates of HIV in Nyanza. All the activities of the Luo are planned around sex.Ploughing, planting, weeding, harvesting, death;sex has to come at some point or another. For a woman to survive with a Luo man,she has to be one sexy thing. Most Luo women fit this bill.Ohhhh!!such sexy girls these Luo women are!yaye nyinam jobeyo, apisi!!.They know how to make you feel like you are in Pluto. This brings me to the point of the unsexy ways of Kikuyu women.Instead of concentrating on the action, she is thinking about how much money she is going to make after you pour(Wanjohi,2011).If you saw Fidel flirting with other women,Wairimu was all to blame. She was not satisfying him. This is a trademark of most Kikuyu women, such unsexy things they are!Mtu analala hapo,ni kam mkoba wa ndizi!Fidel is innocent on that count.
3.0 Infidelity of Kikuyu Women
With their mind wired to sex,no Luo man will tolerate another man sleeping with his wife. This is unlike Kikuyu men who can even allow you to sleep with his wife so long as you give him money. Most Kikuyu women to not value fidelity.A kikuyu woman is more likely to be unfaithful in a marriage than a Luo woman. This is attributed to the “I don’t care”attidute of their men as well as their poor performance in bed.Illicite brews has also taken toll on their potency. These may be external but generally Kikuyu women are intrinsically prone to infidelity.Gutter press had it that Wairimu used to sleep around. What did you expect,Fidel,a Luo man to do?ehhh. You wanted him to pray for her that she departs from her wayward ways? This must have sent Fidel on a revenge mission. Has she been a straight forward woman,I am sure Fidel would not have strayed.
4.0 Kikuyu and the love of money
As I said earlier,Kikuyus just love money!and Veronica is no exception. Something tells me she did not marry for love. She went for fame and money.A marriage build on these tenets is like a house built on quicksand and is likely to falter sooner than later.Well she had the fun with the money and fame, but at one point or another, these excitements just fade.It seems they faded for her akaanza kuleta kichwa!Combine this with poor conjugal performance and infidelity and you have a recipe for divorce. How did money just disappear from their bedroom? She must have stolen it!Infact she is very lucky Fidel didn’t call the police. This could have been to avoid tarnishing the name of the good Prime Minister!.A woman who steals from her husband such colossal amounts of money can only be compared to the devil!.Fidel is innocent on that score.
5.0 Conclusions and recommendations
From the foregoing,it can be concluded that Wanjiru Vero has been the cause of all problems afflicting her marriage with Fidel. It can be theorized that she didn’t marry him because of love but for money and fame. When excitement faded, she started moving around with other men causing him a lot of stress. With the proved fact that the Kikuyu love money more than themselves, she also started stealing from him. This drove him to the wall and made him look for solace in the arms of beautiful Luo women. To save himself from further torment,he has filed for divorce. To recover the money she has been stealing from him,he has put a rider that she pays cot the cost of the suit and also pay him damages. What an intelligent boy!Another conclusion which can be drawn is that there were no political machinations in this marriage. This woman married for money!fulstop!
It can therefore be recommended that Fidel cuts all links with this sewage rat (Nzioka, 2011).Ida and Baba should look for a beautiful Luo woman who can take good care of their child. Fidel should also forthwith avoid associating with Kikuyu women. It is most likely that there are already gold diggers hovering around him after hearing that he is divorcing. All these vultures are having the same intentions as Wanjiru.
A general recommendation is for all Luo men to give Kikuyu women a wide berth. If you meet a woman and she introduces herself as wanjiru, wairimu, wanjiku, waithera, njoki, run away very fast and don’t look back!!!If they don’t kill you by hiring mungiki, they will bring Aids!Omera chunga sana! You can go for Kamba,Taita,Luhya…don’t touch circumcised kisii and kalenjin women!

Kikuyu and Luo should love each other
A disease is cropping up in Kenya which needs our immediate attention. The disease of ethnic hatred which qualifies as hate speech. The culprits are two major ethnic communities in Kenya, the Kikuyu and the Luo. I fail to understand what these two tribes are fighting about but I can make an intelligence guess. Hii Kenya si ya mabibi zenu!!
While the Luo are bitter about perceived chronic betrayal by the Kikuyu, the Kikuyu want to perpetuate their ethnic chauvinism. Their belief that leadership shall not cross river Chania is now stronger than ever. To the Luo, propping up and worshipping Raila is their route to compensation for the betrayal. For the Kikuyu, following Uhuru Kenyatta blindly like flies following poopoo is their route. I say this because I have tried to objectively identify any strong leadership qualities in Kenyatta and came out with none. Sometimes I get hiccups by just imagining Uhuru as my president, something just doesn’t add up! Anyway, he will be eating raw potatoes at The Hague, so no need to worry. The bottom line is that the Kikuyu support Uhuru because he is one of their own and nothing else.
As for the Luo, I understand your bitterness but don’t you think it is getting more difficult for Raila to clinch the presidency in 2013? The fellow has burnt bridges with almost all his tribal point men. Only a miracle will make Raila the president of Kenya and I don’t believe in miracles in present day Kenya. Maybe if it was in the days of Galilee I would be a bit hopeful. Now every Tom, d— and Harry wants him to anoint him running mate. There will be more fallouts when he doesn’t appoint some of them. Franklin Betty will say Raila hates Kipsisgis if he is not appointed, The Luhya will leave if none of them is appointed. He needs to appoint GEMA to appease Mt Kenya, Coast think it is their turn. The GEMA will vote Uhuru or anyone he points his nose to, the Kalenjin will vote Ruto or anyone he points his arrow to, the Kamba will vote Watermelon, Luhya will be divided right in the middle, Coast will be 50/50,Wariahe will be 50/50,the Kisii are inconsequential. The other minor tribes can vote any way for all I care. Things are elephant for Agwambo hehehehehe. Lak chogo!.This is the time when one needs a very strong foreskin—–joke.
Ok, back to the point of this listing. The Kikuyu/Luo fights in Kenya. More often than not, people say that those who participate in tribal violence are idle uneducated youth. I believe that for anyone to engage in a political talk, he must be having some rudimentary education. And participating in ethnic violence is not only about taking a machete and cutting your neighbour or burning people in a church. When you say or write abusive statements about any tribe, you are participating in tribal violence. Like when you violently mention foreskins and attach its ownership to a certain bright tribe. When you mention jiggers in an unscientific context, you are violent. You should only talk about the life cycle of a jigger but not where it resides.
If Kikuyus love Uhuru so much, you have your vote. Wait for the voting day to cast your vote for him, do not talk about foreskins and toilets in Kibera. It will not help his course. If the Luos like Raila’s as* so much that they want to lick it clean, do not talk about jiggers, yokozuna or wife battering, wait for your day at the ballot box and vote for him. You can circumcise 1 million foreskins but it will not add a single vote to Uhuru. You can exorcise a million jiggers from Kikuyu feet but it will not add a single vote to Raila.
When I look at a small Kikuyu kid or a small Luo kid, I just wonder when they start thinking themselves as jigger or foreskin owners. Isn’t it us who instill these negative tribal biases in our kids? The Kikuyu should love the Luo and the Luo should love the Kikuyu. We are all Kenyans. You call me foreskin but when you check your bank account, nothing will have been added to it. You say I have jiggers, but when you go back to Kibera, your flying toilet will have not converted to a flushing toilet. You kiss Uhuru and Raila a**es, but neither do they know or care about you. You are such an idiot!.You are stupid! Very silly indeed. You dad took you to school but he just wasted money. How can you be so stupid after eating books? Before you mention foreskin or jiggers, ask yourself.”Why am I such an idiot to say something like this?” Anybody can be affected by jiggers or become impotent or be beaten by a woman. It is also not a crime to have a long foreskin; in fact it is an honour.
Mudavadi
The indecisiveness of Mudavadi showed its ugly head again. Mudavani joins another party and resigns as deputy leader of ODM and Minister. He retains DPM position and does not relinquish his parliamentary seat. If he truly believes in himself, he should have gone back to the voters and also resigned as DPM. This man is going nowhere near State House or if he flukes it, somebody else will be calling the shots behind from behind bars.
Kikuyu women
Everyone has heard the one about Kikuyu women. How they plait their hair, read a novel or knit and placidly inform their partners to cover them when they are through with their business. If one day you return home to find an empty house and your children gone, then you are in the groove with a Kikuyu. They are known to be “packers”. They will pack and go with the children and furniture after 40 years of hard labour on a marriage.
A common saying goes “A Kikuyu woman will treat you like a king as long as you have cash, but toss you like rotten mutura (traditional sausage) once you are broke.”
Cynics say Kiambu women are so materialistic they will kill their marriages to enjoy the wealth alone. One Kikuyu lady coined the following phrases to her defence, “I would rather cry on a Mercedes than laugh on a bicycle. ”Money is not everything it is the only thing.”
But Lydia Wambui comes to her sisters’ defence. “Everyone loves money. You cannot go to your landlord or the headmaster at your children’s school and say, ‘we are in love, please understand us for not paying. “Love is no substitute for money.”
Wags also poke fun at the culinary skills of Kikuyu women. They will mix rice, arrow roots, sukumawiki, potatoes, githeri and all imaginable ingredients in one pot. Their men have to always sneak out to enjoy nyama choma or chapati in a smoke-filled joint on their own.
They say all women are said to be schemers but the Kikuyu have perfected it to an art. On the first date, they have you all sized up. Wallet size, level of education, future ambitions. So by the second date, you will be paying their rent.
The Nyeri ones are fabled to be harsh and authoritative. If you have the bad fortune of marrying one, chances of being her punching bag are inevitable. They are the Thatcher’s of Wahome Mutahi fame. Rivals in love will also dismiss them on account of their figures. Below five inches in height, light complexioned, round pretty face with long lovely hair, oversized chests, voluminous hands, flabby waist lines, ironed out behind, vertical hips all suspended on hockey-sticks-like legs. They are known to have an undying thirst for white shoes. Yet even their hottest critics acknowledge that they are so hard-working and organised that their men only come home in the evening to collect cash for their drinking sprees.
there is too much on kikuyus, let us now look at jaluos,
by Dr. Jakenya (Phd), A Proud Luo
Being a Luo is not a very easy thing because people place very high expectations of you. Luos are known to be very high performers in whatever they do. Be it throwing stones or uprooting the Kibera railway. Luos have produced the highest number of best performing professors, doctors and lawyers. But it is still very difficult being a Luo. You make small mistake and the foreskin word will be thrown all round. It is as if people never owned a foreskin at one point in their lives. However, the following behavior of Luos leaves one wondering. Luo behaviour is uniform wherever you go, is it in their genes?, Has it to do with the foreskin? Is it excessive consumption of fish?
When Ojode’s body arrived in Ndhiwa, they demanded to view the body. There were demonstrations with bonfires being lit on the road. We know the body was burnt beyond recognition. Is this what they wanted to view? Was is not better to be more sensitive to the family?.It was so disheartening to see the grieving wife pleading with the fools. Then on the burial day, the fools started causing mayhem until Kajwang had to speak in Luo to make them stop. This was despite the fact that the burial was being beamed live. Mand oywech, ufuwo kaguok!! Stupid!!!
During the PEV, Luos burned down a Ministry of Works Yard in Oyugis with all the GOK vehicles packed therein. This is nowhere near Ndhiwa. They only left the Bulldozers because in Luo they are called “Tinga Tinga”. They were heading to the local district hospital to raze it down before they were repulsed by the Police. Isn’t this where they get medical attention? Thinking of it makes one feel like herding these fools into one big compound and chopping off the foreskin with a blunt stone!!!
In Kisumu, they were matching towards a water treatment plant to burn it down. Had it not been for quick action by the police, there was going to be no water in Kisumu the whole period of PEV. Then they would protest that there is no water. Jinga kabisa!
At Boya around Ahero, they razed down the local district agriculture office with all the computers plus the vehicles packed within the compound. This is foolishness of the highest order. I hear there is one who looted his own house then burned it down. The next day he was heard saying sirkal isaidie.
In Kisumu, you could see a Luo man looting a huge Sofaset, TV, groundnuts and blankets, leaving the more valuable laptops and mobiles. In Oyugis, a woman was shot dead having looted cooking fat from a Supermarket.
Any time Museveni mentions the word Migingo, a railway line is uprooted in Kibera. This is the same line which ferries the Luo to Kisumu when they go for leave with all their household goods.
Most Gor Mahia supporters are Luo, when they lose a match they stone people, when they win they celebrate by stoning people.
When a Luo goes for annual leave, he carries all his household belongings in Nyaugenya Bus and carries back to Nairobi with Otange Bus Service when his leave ends.
Jothurwa, you may say ni awuoyo marach, but isn’t this foolishness?.Such stupid behaviour cannot be tolerated in present day Kenya. People nyaka behave like mature human beings not tree monkeys. I think the Luo rite of passage of removing 6 teeth without anesthesia should be brought back to bring back maturity. This was actually more painful than circumcision. I am very annoyed, iya owang’ kabisa!!!
For those who are yet to get PhDs, this is a fertile ground for research with the following possible hypotheses.
1. The level of stupidity of a Luo man is proportionately related to the length of his foreskin.
2. The amount of fish a Luo consumes is directly related to the level of his stupidity.
3. Luo behaviour is in the genes, isolate the gene and design ways of removing it and you will earn millions
