Protest on Airing of Partisan Documentary on CORD Presidential Candidate Hon. Raila Odinga by Nation TV
We would like to protest in the strongest terms possible the airing by NTV this afternoon of ‘documentaries’ on Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. These ‘documentaries’ are thinly disguised campaign vehicles and we object most strongly to their airing within 24 hours of the opening of polling stations and also bearing in mind the fact that the official campaign period ended yesterday the 2nd day of March 2013,which is a blatant violation of the Electoral Laws of Kenya.
The documentary on Raila Odinga is extremely partisan and deliberately designed to reduce his standing among the electorate. We have certainly not commissioned the airing of the said documentary and strongly object to its continuous airing. Consequently, we demand that IEBC moves with speed and diligence to have the same stopped forthwith, severely censure and discipline NTV for this violation of electoral laws and principles.
The films have raked over old, adversarial and painful episodes of the past few years and the decision to air such material in close proximity to the elections is most ill-judged as it may escalate negative ethnicity.
By a copy of this letter, we have expressed our concerns and strong protest to the Nation Media Group and notify further that we reserve the right to take the appropriate legal action against the media house.

Good news British battle troops in Kenya ready to protect her Citizens in case the hell breaks loose>The Ministry of Defence and the British High Commission in Nairobi have also said that a battle group of British troops that recently arrived in Kenya were there for training and not to act as security for British citizens should security deteriorate, as was rumoured.

Bett is ODMs election watchdog, do you take his statement to suggest that CORD/ODM is setting up a stage to dispute the elections result should Jubilee win? I think he is doing his Job.

Secretary General Anyang’ Nyong’o challenged IEBC to explain why it reverted to manual voting after the electronic machines faileFd in parts of the country, despite ODM having written to the electoral body asking it to confirm the status of the kits.
“We assumed IEBC heeded our advice but it seems they were lazy and did not, leading to a 95 per cent failure of the kit forcing voters to use the manual system,” said Nyong’o.
The machines were bought at Sh7 billion. He said it was risky to use the manual voting system since it is easier for someone to masquerade as another person especially in cases where the computer cannot show faces of voters.
He complained that several people in Ndhiwa missed their names in the voter registers and alleged some identity card numbers might have been registered more than once.
