I would like to clarify that I was invited to this event and accepted to attend without any knowledge of the circumstances that led to the demonsrtations. I acknowledge the grievances aired by the demonstrators and really regret as a Kenyan the fact that I was personally invited to attend while other fellow Kenyans were not and remained outside the ambassador’s residence. I want also to note that I decided to go ahead and meet the MPs because I saw this as an ample opportunity to discuss issues such as IDPs, ICC and impunity, with them face-to-face because I believe that it is only through dialogue that I can contribute.
KSB: We take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Peter for his firm, steadfast and mature position which, nevertheless, is similar to that of the protesters. We regret that Ambassador Purity Muhindi or her Deputy, Andambi, never clarified the political circumstances of the invitations to their guests. There are no ill feelings or malice towards individuals whose pictures are published here and all pictures are published in good faith and in the spirit of spreading information about events happening in the Kenya-Stockholm hemisphere.

Thanks.
This is a brave guy though i wonder how far he could have engaged the MPs given that Purity and Andambi must have been hovering around searching for “traitors” whom they shall block from their next secret dinner.I think the picketers had a best shot at the MPs with their no-nonsense placards.Once you sit to eat with the enemy, you cannot afford to raise grievances.
