It is almost a year since the late Kenya-Stockholmer, Mr. Owili Ongaro, passed away in Stockholm. The family of the late Owili is planning a Memorial service for him on the 19th of November at SDA Church at Olof Palmegatan (where the last prayers were held for him before the body was transported to Kenya for burial).
There will be a short reception at the Church (fika) after which a get together at his residence will follow. Kenyans, friends and well-wishers are all invited to the occasion. Mr. Owili was a very good person who was liked by Kenyans who knew him in life. He was a great story teller with sharp analysis of issues and the gap he left in Kenya-Stockholm will never be filled.
He was very critical on cultural backwardness and always seized on every opportunity to educate his listeners about what ails Kenya. At the time he passed away, he had finalized plans to return to Kenya and make his contribution in the building of the Nation but death intervened and took him away. He left behind a legacy which many Kenyans who knew him definitely hold dear. In remembering him on the 19th, it is important to take into account his desires and aspirations for our country Kenya.
The late Mr. Owili Ongaro envisioned a democratic Kenya free from tribalism, nepotism, corruption, dictatorship, insecurity, exploitation and human suffering. His greatest success is evidenced in the forthrightness of his children who are growing up as responsible citizens, focused and full of ambition. Kenyans in Stockholm need to follow Mr. Owili’s example of humility, simplicity and a strong determination to succeed under difficult circumstances. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Thanks for this information ja-Kasipul-Kabondo.. Just to correct you, the SDA church is actually in Olof Palmesgatan.. and not Sveavägen.. Please make that correction
