Join the Anna Lindh Pre-School Support Association and help poor children in Kenya
For the last four years, many orphaned and poor children have been able to attend preschool at the Anna Lindh Pre-school located at Kampi ya Moto in Kenya. The preschool, which operates under very simple conditions, has around 80 children and more are queuing up to join. There is a great need for building pre-schools in Kenya and consequently, there is great need for financial resources for teachers and learning materials. Many children have parents who died of AIDS and they live with relatives – often grandmothers – who are making great efforts for their grandchildren, but who are themselves in economically difficult situations. The dream is to help the children attain a better future through education.

Anna Lindh preschool was started by Beatrice Kamau Lundgren, who came to Sweden as a refugee and who now lives in Skarpnäck area in Stockholm. Among other positions, Beatrice is a member of the Board of Directors at Skarpnäck Church Assembly. The pre-school was named after the late former Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister following approval by Anna Lindh’s husband, Bo Holmberg.
To support Anna Lindh Preschool, a few interested people started ”Stödföreningen Anna Lindhförskolan i Kenya” (Support Association Anna Lindh Preschools in Kenya). The Association is non political and has no religious affiliations. The Association is headed by a Board elected at the Annual Member’s meeting and the Association’s finances audited by an elected Auditor. All efforts in support of the Association are on a non-profit basis. No member is paid for any services.
You can support the Anna Lindh Preschools in Kenya through membership of the Support Association and/or through financial contributions via bank transfer to Postal Giro 550920-3 or Bank Giro: 621-6980. Write your name, address and email contact. The membership fee is 100 SEK per year.
Money for supporting the Association is sent directly to the school’s Director Mr. Fredrick Waweru Njhia. Right now, the situation is very acute. A bank loan has been secured to cope with teachers’ salaries and food for the children!

Who is Anna lind to kenya or to kenyans?what has she done in particular to the pple of Kenya? why cant you pple come-up with a suitable name ?
why dont you honest men/women apply donations from SIDA hence SIDA grants a huge amount of money to kenya and other many countries in Africa?
why cant you pple Use swedes like asker, wohlin etc to solicite money from the swedish taxpayers?
Pator Beatrice and all those Swedes behind the establishment of this school should be ashamed to post such an ugly picture of a mud classroom built in the 21st Century in Kenya.
The information says the pre-school has been running for the past four years. Seriously, is Beatrice and company aware of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Kenya? This is used for renovating or building such structures. They should apply for the funds in the concerned Constituency. Stop ashaming Kenyans with such an ugly building yet there are available resources on the ground if one is smart enough to approach the necessary authorities.
For example, establish a Board of Governers with powerful people in that Constituency, Not Swedes who only go there for cosmetic purposes to claim they are supporting orphans. This method that was used in the early days after Independence almost 50 years ago!!! Acheni kutuaibisha!
On the individual level, cement is roughly 700 Kenya shillings a bag, so Beatrice could be saving money to buy bags and tracks of sand then get the local people to slowly put up cement walls.Putting up a building using one’s individual Swedish kroner can be done within one year. Moreover, why not approach Mr. Bo Holmberg (the late Anna Lindh’s husband) to assist in talking to top Social Democratic politicians to donate for the preschool?
It disgusts to link the name of such a once famous Swedish person to the mud-caked building.Don’t get me wrong,I am for the preschool idea,is just that after four years, there should be a lot of improvement in the structure especially from the Africans who began it.
Nice observation mr.`CDF’. Arent there famous people in Kenya who could have taken the school name? The idea behind the name is to get Swedes support. Wasnt it? The name also put locals off. There is this mentality at home that anything associated with whites is nothing else but money!!
secondly,I truly doubt if the building is currently in such poor condition. This is meant to win sampathy donation! It remind me of those whites who get to Africa and run straight to the slum. Anything sort of that aint interesting to them. Whats the game here? The pre-school idea is brilliant, the charity work cause is noble but there is a big question behind all this!
Mkenya!
On the name issue, it would have been honorable to name the preschool after Mr. Lars Asker, or the late Mr. Wuod Maggero since they have a clear history of such an idea through the Kenya Sweden Friendhsip Association (KESFA).
Also, the Kenya-stockholmers behind the preschool should remember that a kid is born, crawls and learns to walk.Meaning that with all due respect, it is time for Mr. Asker to sit back and let the Kenyans do it, while he enjoys what he had begun with others many years ago. Tusiwe kama nchi moja jirani ya Kenya ambayo imewategemea Waswidi kwa miaka mingi na ingali masikini.
I agree with all the above commentators for asking interesting things about the preschool.I know one woman who has single-handedly put up a nursery school in Kenya out of her cleaning job salary in Sweden without asking for outside help. This might ignite arguments, but certain things can be done without using photos that only make us depressed.
The Kenyan Government is not doing everything, but I agree with “CDF” that more can be done by a Kenyan living in Sweden before seeking help from the Swedes. There are cheaper ways of manufacturing building materials like using the cheap Soil Block Making Machine, which cuts the cost of transporting bricks or stones to the site by using very little cement mixed with soil, to produce high quality blocks.
Wewe CDF you say you are updated, but Mr. Bo Holmberg (the late Anna Lindh’s husband) is dead and buried!Take it easy!
mama, see the bigger picture suggested by CDF.The name issue is still amazing to say the least. Y not an African name?
The death of Bo Holmberg as mentioned by mama (#5) does not bar the drivers of the preschool idea from approaching Party Leader Mona Sahlin and other Social Democrats. One does not have to be updated on everything mama.As written by Hakunaa, focus broadly.
kenyans should not be taken for a ride by fake harambees since kibaki came to power each and every constituency gets CDF money for development .this cdf money does miracles when being used in its right manner by mps concerned . but there are lazy mps who are corrupt and most of them return back cdf money to treasury becouse of lack of knowledge of how to make use of cdf money. I think former mrs Beatrice Kamau should find out how her Lind school or dagis may benefit through contacting her area mp. i dont see why she should belastar kenyans by asking them to contribute their hard worked money.
What a cheap way to look for money!Beatrice can do this alone by using the local politician and residents.bona wakenya wengine lazima waonyeshe uchi wao mbere ya wazungu na Rais Kibaki ameturetea nafuu ya CDF?
Mkenya comment no 5,has raised a v.Serious issue on the photo used, can the people concerned clarify on this? And while at it,why didnt Beatrice think of Kenyans when she appointed trustee?Iam sure they could have suggested a better name, Or are we ‘use and damp’ donors? the use of a ‘Swede’ name was to get Swede money….Go for it sister….
The school is now a matter in court because the so called Beatrice is already fighting her mother ,brothers and sisters . The structures were built by her mother who now has a case with her.
The continued support to this dilapidated building has divided the family. A big shame to use such a name for such a shameful project.
Beatrice recently came to Kenya and built a pit latrine in front of her mothers gate what prompted the suit.
Let those wasting their finances look for better ways to help the needy and use that name in more respectful manner.
What is the relationship of Beatrice and her mother, brothers and sisters before she claims to be helping the poor.
Investigate this facts before you money turns to bloodshed. Iam sure Anna Lindh must be turning in her grave due to squabbles on the plot.
There is no school any more. The birds have come home to roost. After the the pit latrine erected , the old Lady has reclaimed her rusted iron sheets and ants infested poles. The actions we at times take have far reaching consequences that we at times imagine. The school was on private land whose owner has all the rights to choose who and what will be erected.
The whole Anna Lind is a conspiracy led by kenyas most corrupt commen/women.Mrs XX stop your gimmick and conmanship .enlist to Arbetsmarknand/A/formedling office and look for a job rather than deceiving the smart swedes You will go to prison soon like Boesak of South Africa ,hence the swedes are very patient
Wonders will never cease!! How can Beatrice use young innocent children to solicit ate money to enrich herself claiming their parents are dead. Can she account for the money she has collected from innocent donors from 2010.God has his own ways of exposing what is done in the dark by those purporting to serve him.
