The Kenyan, Zambian and Namibian Embassies in Stockholm are among African Embassies that will be represented at the Miss Africa Crown 2011 Finals that will take place at the Baltic Sea aboard Vikingline.
Booking for the event has been closed because all cabins are fully booked. The boat departs from the dock at 20.00hrs sharp and all passengers are kindly requested to arrive at the check in desk at least one and a half hours before departure time. There will be a huge number of people to check in and the earlier the better. The Ritz Society will be responsible for checking in its crew so look for Ritz staff who will have “Ritz Society” labels.
According to information from Vikingline, those booked on Deck 9 will not be able to gain access to the rooms immediately because workers will still be fixing the rooms at the time passengers are welcomed on board by Viking staff. All deck 9 passengers are therefore requested to wait patiently as it will not be possible for them to open the doors located on this deck even if they have the key cards.
Passengers who have booked with the “MAFRICA” booking code have to ensure that they get a wrist band for entry into the event arena at check in. Those who have not booked with the code will not be given wrist bands at check in and will not access the event hall without paying an extra 200kr. Last year, the organizers learnt a big lesson because there was no identification when it came to who had and who had not paid for the event.
The consequence was that a large number of “boogie hunters” who had not paid for entry into the event hall got access because the door way was as open as the road to Damascus. This time, heavily built, stone-faced, muscular and big chested security guards will be stationed at the door way and anybody without a wrist band will have to pay and acquire a wrist band before entry into the event hall. The organizers are aware that there is quite a number of revelers who avoided booking with the MAFRICA code hoping that the situation will be the same as last year – it will not.
The Miss Africa event – from the contest to crowning – will take place on the same night of 7-8th October. The strategy is a departure from last year’s arrangement when the crowning was done the following day, almost when the boat was approaching Stockholm. Fans raised the issue with the Ritz Society which decided to change tact. Ritz Society listens to suggestions from fans and makes improvements accordingly.
The Ritz Society takes this opportunity to welcome fans on board hoping for the best of times ever as the summer holidays comes to a close. The Society hereby thanks everybody who has supported its activities by attending or giving ideas for improvements.
We hope for closer cooperation with individuals and collaboration with organizations in the field of Entertainment and for the mutual benefit of Africans and friends of Africa. Once again, thank you very much and may you have a fantastic time during the finals of the 2011 Miss Africa Crown International.
