Ambassador Purity Muhindi and her hubby were among a group of Kenyans who attended the Sauti Sol concert at Söder Bar yesterday Thursday September 3rd. It was the first time the Lady Ambassador was being seen in “Kenyan public” after a long time. The last time she surfaced was at the Obama gala on 20th November last year.
Playing to a capacity crowd, there was no doubt about the potential of Sauti Sol as revelers danced to the tune of their music.
Ambassador Purity had a special table prepared for her and together with her hubby and a few fans, they were the only seated guests at the front line out of more than 200 guests who thronged Söder Bar to watch the Kenyan stars. “Mwanzo”, a 14 track CD of Sauti Sol was on sale.
The Kenyan national flag was constantly on display to remind the audience where the band hailed from. At the end of the concert, members of the band waved the flag liberally in an open advert of Kenya as a nation. It was a moment of great pride for our country Kenya and the band represented the country effectively. In fact, it was very sweet to introduce yourself as a Kenyan to the Swedish revelers who were the majority crowd.
Kenyans who were present to support their countrymen were Enock Otuga, Gerry Midenyo, VJ Frank and VJ Safi (of sound of blackness), Dancun Munala, Beryl Otumba, Susan Mukami, Moses Trubadur (who has just returned from Kenya), Osore Ondusye, Winnie Mukaru, Evans Kamau among others. Some Kenyans had first congregated at Vasa to chill and to assess the latest situation in Kenya-Stockholm before moving to the venue.
The occasion was also graced by the presence of musician Vumbi Dekula who plays regularly at Lila Wien Bar in Stockholm while Nixon Andu, a Sudanese national who is very much known among a cross section of Kenyans, was also present to enjoy the evening. Recordings of the event are being processed and will soon hit KSB.

Osewe, it is good to present Ambassador Muhindi in good light now that her “handbag carrier” Awuor, is out of the picture. We hope that she will continue appearing at Kenyan events.

I agree that she needs to reverse her “high nose attitude” and be normal. I guess she must have cursed the handshake with you knowing that you would whip her later at KSB. We are monitoring and if she continues her wicked moves, then she should be ready for more whacking here.

KSB: You seem to be simple minded and may have taken the hand shake too far. I shake hands with my enemies all the time and that doesn’t change anything. Why hasn’t she been to a single Kenyan function organized at the grass roots? Because of your shallow perspective, I would simplify things by saying that we had a “diplomatic handshake”.
