Former Kenya-Stockholmer Karundi Mathenge Passes on in Kenya

Mr. Karundi Mathenge, a former Kenya-Stockholmer who moved to Kenya about six years ago, is dead. According to a family source, Karundi has been ailing for some time before he succumbed yesterday morning, plunging the entire family into deep mourning.
The news has shocked many Kenyans and friends in Stockholm who knew Karundi as a revolutionary Kenyan who spent more than two decades in exile in Sweden after fleeing from the then dictatorship of Daniel arap Moi.
KSB sends deep condolences to Karundi’s family following the sad news about his sudden departure. We hope that the famly will gather the strength and courage to go through this very difficult moment marked by deep sorrow and mourning.
According to the family, friends, relatives, sympathizers and well wishers are meeting daily in Kenya to prepare for Karundi’s interrment. The late Kenyan will be burried on Saturday, March 22nd 2014 in his ancestral home in Nyeri, Kenya. May the All Mighty rest Karundi’s soul in Eternal Peace.
