Plans for “Final Push” Osumba Harambee Complete
Plans for the ”Final Push” Harambee to raise funds for the transportation of the body of the late Michael Osmba to Kenya are complete. Speaking to KSB, Jared Odero, the Chairman of the Osumba Funeral Committee, said that everything is now in place and encouraged Kenyans and people of good will to turn up at the Harambee to assist the Osumba family with the current burden of burying his remains in Kenya.
So far, SEK 37.775 has been raised and handed over to the Funeral agency while total cost of transporting the body stands at SEK 43.000. The cost of tickets for the family has been placed at SEK 25-30k. There is a short fall of SEK 5.225 for body transportation after which attention will focus on tickets.
In order to minimize expenses, the fund raising will take place at Nancy’s residence at Grumsgatan 4 in Farsta from 14.00 hrs.
Mr. Osumba passed away on Saturday, 27th July 2013 and so far, two Harambees have been held to finance body transportation costs. The Committee is optimistic that the amount remaining will be raised tomorrow and that the body will be able to leave for Kenya next week depending on flights.
