Makozewe: Many Kenyans must have learnt that Muthama, a top Cord official allied to Kalonzo’s Wiper Party, recorded a statement with police following utterances he made at KICC during a Cord meeting where Raila Odinga said that Cord was dealing with thieves and criminals who should be in prison and not State House. Although the Muthama statement to police was widely reported by the media, and although police said that what Muthama said at KICC amounted to “hate speech”, whatever Muthama said was never reported. For curious readers, Muthama had questioned whether in Kenya, only members of two ethnic groups had vajeyjeys which could produce leaders. The media may have failed to report the Muthama comment for reasons of decency but in blogosphere, anything goes under freedom of expression as long as it is legal.

It reminds me of the story of the farmer that cleaned up his pig and dressed it in a specially woven outfit for a visit to the market fair.
