Most of Kenyattas Ba-bo-ons lost miserablyCabinet ministers are among big casualties from Monday’s General Election as results continue to reveal surprise winners and losers, with veterans tumbling while newcomers and others who had remained in political obscurity redeemed excelled. Cabinet Ministers Amos Kimunya, Sam Ongeri, Chirau Mwakwere, William ole Ntimama, Charity Ngilu, Henry Kosgey, Soita Shitanda, Sally Kosgei, Noah Wekesa and Samuel Poghisio were among big names to bite the dust.
Former MPs Suleiman Kajembe, Ephraim Maina Chris Okemo Mwangi Kiunjuri, Cyrus Jirongo, Najib Balala, Philip Kaloki, john Harun Mwau and Nderitu Mureithi of were among those whose political careers came to a screeching halt. Water and Irrigation Minister Charity Ngilu sufffailed to win the Kitui senate seat against David Musila after an illustrious two-decade political career.
Ngilu’s shock defeat was the second blow to her National Rainbow Coalition party in the county following the loss by her ally, immediate former Mutitu MP Kiema Kilonzo in the gubernatorial race. Heritage Minister William ole Ntimama, at the 85 the oldest candidate seeking a parliamentary seat, lost his bid to remain the Narok North MP as he was beaten by Moitalel Kenta who vied for the seat on a TNA ticket. Shitanda and the immediate former MP for Lugari Jirongo also became casualties of the elections after losing their bids to become governor and senator respectively for Kakamega County.
