As readers will aptly note, potentially damaging information about Miss Africa Crown (MAC) and its founders has been published online or circulated on social media including the Kenya Stockholm Blog. The MAC management deeply regrets that this had to happen and considering the serious consequences of this development if the situation is not addressed, the MAC management has decided to explore a lasting solution through its internal machinery. The MAC management has worked hard on the Mac concept while members have sacrificed tremendously in terms of financial, emotional and physical in-put.
For every time that MAC was ever staged, members got only one satisfaction – young, energetic and aspiring African girls were given an opportunity to show-case their beauty and talents while, through the event, they were also exposed to the fashion and modeling industry. In the same token, the MAC audience, comprising of Africans in Stockholm and neighboring cities together with their friends, were properly entertained, had a good time while they also established viable working networks. It is the thinking of the Management that the concept can still be developed with proper approaches in all its various aspects.
There is no denying that there have been frustrations in the process of trying to make MAC a reality. Serious difficulties were experienced at various levels, financial losses were incurred while work-overload also took its toll. Eventually, a sudden and unpredictable disconnect resulted in an internal crisis which, unfortunately, reached the public domain. The MAC management would like to apologize to fans, former contestants, partners and any other persons who worked for MAC as a result of recent developments that, the management believes, have largely been out of tune. After an internal review, and in the long term interests of MAC, the management has decided to sort out matters arising internally.
MAC is in its third anniversary and the management would like to focus more on next year’s event as it seeks to resolve current difficulties within its leadership. The management has learnt significant lessons as a result of recent publication of its affairs online. Similarly, the management has also acquired a wide experience in the handling of various issues during the last three years. These experiences will no doubt be useful in the future.
Because of the new understanding within the management, and because of the on-going process of internal healing and reconciliation, the MAC management requests that an article that had earlier been published at KSB titled “Panic as MAC Crisis Surfaces at KSB” be retired by KSB’s Editorial Board in the interest of peace and tranquility. After considering all factors, the MAC management is convinced that it will be able to sort itself out and pull an even better event in 2013 as the struggle by the African community to organize also continues. The management thanks everybody in advance for due understanding of the unique circumstances.

NOTE: KSB’s Editorial Board welcomes the new development and will retire the article hoping that the move will propel the reconciliation process forward.
MAC Management should pay for my popcorn and Coca-Cola which I bought awaiting more drama in reply to Huda’s article…Anyway good luck but now we know the usual suspects.
hahahah me too i want money for my popcorn and fanta exotic hahahha. MAC are liars. i’ll belive it when i see it. Next year better? i have difficulties believing that, knowing the fact that no one in that organization can actually really organize anything. Always thinking of the money. it came to my attention that MANY of the people you worked with have problems with you. I knew someone was going to out this organization.
KSB: BD, what MAC needs is restructuring because the potential is there and the idea is viable. The group has pulled three very successful events so the leadership can organize. An increased internal democratic arrangement could greatly improve quality. I tend to question undemocratic tendencies and many people do not like that.
Osewe, I think you are too transparent for this kind of org where people want to eat. You did not tell readers anything much and now people are back on the table to tok. Altho this is gud, it gets the thing back to the greed issue in African organizations. More respect for standing up 2 the poor workers of mac.
KSB: The MAC issue is not about greed because members have sacrificed a lot of their own money to pull the events. The level of transparency has been good although the issue of “control” needs improvement. You cannot make money without some people working and these workers should always be the priority in any venture.
Osewe, lelema mentioned “usual suspects” which is a tag for those whose intentions are negative. The public should have been treated to a bloody online battle before pulling down Huda’s response. African organizations are sometimes exploited by indigenous Swedes and this was going to be an example of an African woman defending her white man/husband amidst an arising managerial crisis. My tip is MAC should not work with people associated by relationships or kinship to avoid conflict of interest.
I fully agree with you that workers must first be paid before losses are considered in such a situation.
KSB: Mulemba, I do understand your frustrations. As the Info Officer, I am a member of the MAC Board and it could have been unprofessional to engage in such a battle when an opportunity for internal dialogue still existed. If I was an outsider with inside info, the situation could have been different. Building MAC has been a journey and I think that there is still an opportunity for reconstruction because all is not lost yet.
I heard that they have a big ass house with two storiesbuldings and private gym and all that shit. maybe thats where all your money and the money that is supposed to be given to the workers is going. Don’t live big when you have debts. thats nonsence.
