The acting Venezuelan envoy to Kenya was found dead at her official residence in Nairobi, and police said Friday she was murdered by strangulation. Nairobi police chief Anthony Kibuchi said that the diplomat killed has been identified as Olga Fonseca Jimenez, the charge d’affaires and acting ambassador of Venezuela in Kenya.
Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Fonseca reported to the Embassy in Nairobi on July 15 to replace Ambassador Gerardo Carillo-Silva. A Venezuelan Foreign Ministry official said there was no immediate comment on the matter. Kibuchi said investigations into the death had begun and police had questioned two staff members at the residence. Fonseca arrived in Kenya in July to replace Carrillo-Silva, who had fled the country after three male workers at the ambassador’s residence filed a complaint with the police accusing him of sexual harassment, a lawyer representing the workers said.
Ngure Mbugua said he started representing the workers after police did not act against the complaints. He said he pressed Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ask the Venezuelan government to waiver the diplomat’s immunity against prosecution so that the envoy could be arrested and charged in Kenya or Venezuela.
Mbugua said Carrillo-Silva fled before the process was complete. He said after her arrival the workers told him that Fonseca demanded that the workers withdraw their sexual abuse complaints against her predecessor.
Mbugua said that on Tuesday Fonseca called for a meeting between him and her lawyer in which she insisted that she would fire the workers who lodged the complaints because of insubordination. Mbugua said Fonseca’s lawyer, Njeri Mucheru-Oyatta, advised her against firing the workers because they have contracts. Fonseca then said she would consult with the foreign ministry in Caracas, Mbugua said. Mucheru-Oyatta confirmed their meeting and said in the early stages of the investigation it was impossible to tell the motives behind her murder. Mbugua said the workers he was representing were recording statements with the police over Fonseca’s death.

Miguna Miguna, the author of the controversial book, peeling back the mask has written to police commissioner for round the clock state security.
In a letter to Commissioner Mathew Iteere, Miguna claims his life is in danger following numerous threats from unknown people and a section of ODM members.
“Since launching my book, I have received several death threats and threats of serious bodily harm by short text messages and email transmissions from people I do not know,” said Miguna.
“One chilling threat stated that upon my return to Kenya next month, I will be “assassinated and my kidneys eaten,” he said.
“My family and I take these threats very seriously; this is my formal request for round-the-clock state security.”
In what he said was a pre-planned visit to Canada, Miguna left the country abruptly with his family members after the launch of his book on July 14.
What followed was the burning and burial of his effigy and coffin in a mock funeral in Nyando led by the area Member of Parliament Fred Outa.
In the letter to Iteere copied to National and International media, Miguna said despite failure by relevant government Authorities in apprehending and prosecuting the culprits as would be required in a country governed by the rule of law, he will return back home in August.
“Despite all the threats, the intimidations, the character assassinations and the daily gratuitous attacks in the media and the Internet, I shall return to Kenya on Thursday, August 16, 2012.”
“My flight is scheduled to land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 20:15 hours.
I intend to continue with my chosen work of writing about and agitating for the respect for the rule of law, the upholding of the constitution (in letter and spirit), the respect for fundamental human rights, the expansion of the democratic space, the elimination of corruption, tribalism and nepotism (of all forms and shades) and the entrenchment and practice of good governance in Kenya.”
“In other words, I am fortified and fully committed in the quest for justice in Kenya,” he said.

The Killing of the Venezuelas ambassador Must be investigated by Experts in Crimes from countries that does not Hate the govt and people of Venezuela . Kenya govt must stop distracting the investigation by indulging workers who works at the Embassy .
The case goes beyond mistreating workers .As we know Kenyan workers are being beaten by foreigners especially those employed by Wa-hindis !
Muhindi is still beating his workers/ Some Racist Europeans are known to beat even to kill their workers.
and Kenya workers are known to torelate these beatings . This Venezuelan case might be the first where a Kenyan worker kills his/her boss, which is nonsense.
The Killing involves drug cartels from Latin America/Some Kenyan drug warlds and Eastern european drug Mafias.

This mess could have been arrested much earlier by the Min of Foreign Affairs. Instead, Min attacks employees in letter to their lawyers. In Saudi Arabia, if a Saudi driver has an accident with your car, the police tell you, “Mr Foreigner, if you hadn’t come here, our citizen would not have hit your car.”
“The allegations made therein are of a very serious nature and we are at a loss why your client sat on his rights since December 8, 2011 until now when the alleged tormentor has left the jurisdiction of our courts,” the ministry said in a letter dated July 2 addressed to the worker’s lawyers Ngure Mbugua & Company Advocates.”
How could the government turn against its own people? Who does the gavo represent?
We shouldn’t be scared of white people. We should also not be scared of Mr Ba if there is a good chance he harassed a Kenyan woman.
The workers now had to fight:
1. The Venezualan embassy
2. The government of Kenya via the Min of Foreign Affairs
3. The landlord, MP Johnstone Muthama
All that crap about “Wanjiku” and common man is exposed as hypocrisy by our government.
They had not done a single thing wrong! A man who has money to satisfy his gay yearnings elsewhere in town decided to destroy the lives of low-level workers. Many days in the slammer up ahead. A woman is dead. They gu(a)y is free abroad.
