
The late Victor Ogolla Nyangore was uniquely endowed in the field of performing arts and creative expressions. He was a great poet, a narrator and a theatre director. His stage names were the 2nd son of “Muntu” and “Romeo”. He played the roles in the Muntu production, a play written by Joe De Graft (on 1981). And William Shakespeare – Romeo and Juliet successfully.
He made his debut in theatre as a member of the Ramogi writers & Drama society in 1980. Then he was a student at Kisumu Day High School. He played various key roles for the Ramogi Writers and Drama Society, Misango Arts Ensemble and The Floods Theatre (Ahero). He was Founder and Director of Misango Arts Ensemble.
He also specialized in the theatre for education and development. He facilitated trainings in T.F.D in Kenya, Tanzania and Sudan. He was also school drama adjudicator. He was a pillar in arts. The Western Kenya Region has lost a great artistic talent (the demise of Victor Ogolla Nyangore).
He was also a Head teacher at Kore Primary School in Nyando District. He was also a member to the Nyanza Schools Drama Festival Committee. He was also a member of the Lake Victoria Basin Film Makers Guild (Kenya).
The Misango Arts Ensemble will hold a funds drive for the Late Victor Nyangore on the 4th July, 2012 at 4pm at the Young Women Christian Association (Y.W.C.A) in Kisumu.
The burial will be held on the 7th July 2012 at Korowe near Ahero (Nyando District). We are appealing to the theatre fraternity and well wishers for support.
