Mr. George Obor, a 54 year old Kenya-Stockholmer, has passed away at Fridhiemsplan’s Hospital after a short illness. Family members, relatives and friends have been plunged into deep mourning following the sudden demise of Mr. Obor. The Kenyan has been ailing since December last year when he was also operated on. Mr. Obor passed away on Friday, March 9th 2012 at around 21.00 hrs.
According to Doctors, Mr. Obor was suffering from liver cancer which is feared to have been at an advanced stage thereby making treatment difficult. A source privy to information from Doctors told a group of Kenyans who had gone to visit Mr. Obor last Sunday that the Kenyan’s strain of cancer was discovered late because that type of cancer is normally very difficult to detect. Speaking to the Kenyans in his hospital ward, Mr. Obor said that he was in a difficult situation but that he had left everything on the hands of the almighty God.
Mr. Obor went to hospital last December when he noticed that he had a persistent pain in the Stomach. After he underwent surgery in December last year, Mr. Obor has been in and out of hospital before he was admitted early this year when his condition deteriorated. The Kenyan’s ailment progressed very first and his death has come as a great shock to all those who knew him. Close family members and friends have been visiting him in hospital to keep him company since he was admitted.
KSB sends deep condolences to the family of the late Mr. Obor following the shocking news of his sudden departure. The Kenyan was a very jolly and social person who will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Mr. Obor was one of the most progressive and focused Kenyans in Stockholm and his sudden departure will, most likely, disturb many Kenyans who got time to interact with him in life.
At KSB, we hope that the family will find strength to go through this very difficult and trying time of great shock and deep sorrow. May the soul of the late Mr. Obor rest in eternal peace. Mr. Obor is survived by his wife and his 19 year-old daughter. Further information about funeral arrangements will be released as they become available.
