The verdict against the woman in Sigtuna who killed her two children in September last year is delayed. The National Social Welfare Board will first have a further assessment of her mental status, writes Radio Stockholm. Previously, a psychiatric evaluation showed that the mother is mentally ill, but the National Board would like to get a ‘second opinion’ from their own specialist in forensic psychiatry. The investigation shall be completed on 8th March 2012, and only after that, can the Attunda District Court decide on the verdict.
The last day of the trial against the mother who murdered her two sons will resume in mid-March. It was postponed on Monday, Jan. 30 2012 since the Sigtuna district court had requested for further forensic psychiatric examination on the mother. This is because there was disagreement about how seriously mentally disturbed the woman is.
The Judicial Council, which has been reviewing the investigation, will table its report on March 8th.
The trial and verdict will thereafter take place at Attunda District Court on March 12 from 9am to 4pm.
