Following the sudden demise of Ambassador Sam Barteka Sakajja, an ad hoc Committee was set up in Stockholm to mobilize mourners and to help organize a Memorial service for the late Ambassador.
Friends, relatives, sympathizers and well-wishers are cordially invited to a Memorial service which will take place on Saturday, January 28th 2012 at Bohusgatan 25 (T-Skanstull). The service will be followed by a get-together and the two events will take place between 14.30 and 23.00 hrs. Specifically, the Prayer meeting begins at 15.00 sharp.
The service will be conducted by Reverend Overa Fredrick Sahlberg Seka, a Tanzanian priest of the Klara Church, a protestant Church in Sweden. Please, note that the prayer meeting will take place at Bohudgatan and not at St klara Church. Shortly after the prayers, guests will be treated to food, music and refreshments.
Ambassador Sakajja passed away on 17th December last year due to illness and has since been laid to rest in his ancestral home in Uganda. The late Ambassador was in exile in Sweden before he moved to the Ugandan Mission in Moscow to serve as a diplomat.
