Ongeri will be shielded by Kibaki on account of political expediency. In civilised countries, Ongeri, Uhuru, Ruto and their comrades in corruption would be behind bars or at least reporting to the police daily. Instead ministers like Murungi occupy enjoys the care and trust of the president.
Accepting political and/or moral responsibility is foreign to Kenyan politicians. Only when the appointing authority flexes his brawn and shows the moral courage to require ministers and other senior officials accused of corruption to step down, this trend would change for the better.
