A Kenyan woman who is recuperating in hospital after being admitted in critical condition has sent a message that she needs to be “left alone” to recover in peace. The Kenyan is reported to have made tremendous recovery although her condition is said to be “bad”.
Since she was admitted a few weeks ago, Kenyans have been trooping to the hospital in large numbers to visit her and to wish her quick recovery, a development which doctors said, is disturbing because too many visitors appear to be interrupting her recovery process.
In Sweden, it is not common for a huge number of people to be paying visits to a critically ill patient on a daily basis and the huge Kenyan crowd is reported to have been drawing serious attention at the hospital.
According to Mr. Munala wa Munala, a Kenyan who last spoke to the woman before she was admitted to hospital, the woman is grateful for the many visitors but that too many visits are now becoming more harmful that helpful.
“She said that she wants to be left alone”, Mr. Munala told KSB. Reports say that the numerous Kenyan visitors have mainly been concerned with the woman’s condition and recovery process.
Mr. Munala did not disclose the woman’s ailment and told KSB that even the doctors are not talking about it. According to a source, the woman was rushed to hospital in an Ambulance after she collapsed under circumstances that are still not clear.
According to Mr. Munala, “anybody who wants to know the woman’s condition or follow her progress should contact the Kenyan Embassy or speak to Mrs. Sheila Mustaq”. Sheila is a Kenyan who has also been very close to the ailing woman.
The Kenyan Embassy in Stockholm is said to have taken “a very keen interest” in the woman’s case and has been constantly following her recovery process. KSB has established that an Embassy official has been visiting the woman at least three times a week, a sign that the Embassy is trying to remain on the safe side to avoid criticism that it is doing nothing in the woman’s situation.
When she was admitted to hospital, the woman is reported to have been in a coma but latest reports say that she has now regained consciousness and that she has also regained movement on one side of the body. KSB continues to wish her quick recovery.
