Kenya is a country of good people,I loved my friends Kikuyu in Kakamega, we lived very friendly, but when I see leaders trying to fool Kenyans with the word Constitution and court of law and yet they violet the same laws I do pity them.
I saw one day Kenyatta panging the table in the Conference House that Marende had rulled wrongly in Kenyan constitution to correct Kibaki’s unconstitutional appointments he had done as they had mislead him Kibaki to follow their ok-ward constitution to fool Kenyans that they know something better than others and yet they know nothing. Now when Kibaki opened the eyes and saw the mistakes, he admitted to withdraw his appointments, Who is ashame now? Marende or Uhuru and Kiraitu groups? How will your faces look like to Kenyans with your Constitution?
This time whoever will be a President of Kenya must follow the law of the country and know that Kenyans have too many learnt people, some are holding PhD’s and Masters Degrees of laws in their homes,but they were denied to get employment because of the tribalism impunity leaders.Leaders must be very careful now. We can not be treated like second hand Kenyans, but we are Kenyans.
My advice to all Kenyans is that People who are believing in Uhuru Kenyatta, William Ruto,Kalonzo Musyoka VP and others who started campaigning for 2012 before the current Parliament being desolved and announced for the election to start are blind and does not know what the leadership means. They are only following to eat money but it is also good to eat the money from the fools, so the two are the same blind people who will never fulfill their goal.
How can an elected member of Parliament start roaming on street that he is campaigning the election which has never formed,in stead of serving his constituence? Were they elected to leave their assignment and start some thing else which they will never get? Which type of Kenyans can elect such people to serve them? I am urging all electorates in all tribes of Kenya to throw all MPs who did not serve them or fulfill the pledges they promised for this term. Do not be cheated to re-elect such leaders who have their different agendas than what their constituencies needed. Wake up and eat money from them and choose new faces.
Uhuru, Ruto and Kalonzo must be ashamed to put President Kibaki in an ashameful situation to be seen that he does not know the laws of the land.And President Kibaki be a President of Kenya not Mount Kenya. Mount Kenya is a small thing known to every Kenyan in and out. No any propaganda the Mt. Kenya people can cheat Kenyans. Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere has denied claims that there are mercenaries in the country targeting members of Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party. The police boss dismissed the claims by the MPs that there were Israeli mercenaries planted in Whitesands Hotel to stalk the Prime Minister during his recent tour of Mombasa two weeks ago. Iteere said they had carried out investigations and established that during the days the PM was at the hotel there were no Israeli nationals booked. Nominated MP Millie Odhiambo first raised alarm over the presence of the alleged mercenaries on Saturday after she was allegedly attacked and robbed of her property. Ms Odhiambo said the mercenaries were behind her attack in Suba at the weekend by six people armed with AK47 rifles. Lands Minister James Orengo also claimed some suspicious foreigners had sneaked into the country stirring a debate over the security of some senior ODM members. Iteere has further assured that the PM has been assigned adequate security and any person who becomes cognisant of a security threat to him should make a report to his security detail for immediate action. “We have directed the officer in charge of the Prime Minister’s security detail to arrest any suspicious character(s) suspected to be stalking the Prime Minister and hand them over to the nearest police station with details of their suspicious activities” said Iteere. The ODM legislators alleging that National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende, MP Alago Aluoch, Justice and Legal affairs committee chair Ababu Namwamba and herself were among the mercenaries’ targets. Ken Ren Chemical and Fertiliser Company; a 30 year-old scandal had re-emerged, with less than 4 months to go before the 2007 presidential election.
A thumb nail sketch of Ken Ren:
In its hey-day, Ken Ren was the Goldenberg and Anglo Leasing of Kenyan public sector corruption. It had a mix of local and foreign players and was shrouded in mystery. Shrouded in mystery, for a generation of Kenyans, Ken Ren is almost completely unknown.
In the early 1970’s, a decision was made to enter into a joint venture with an American Company to establish a fertiliser processing plant at Mombasa, on the Kenyan Coast.
The company was called Ken Ren Chemical and Fertilizer Company. The government was both a shareholder and a guarantor for the factory.
The deal collapsed in scandal and the factory was never built. The company ended up in liquidation and embroiled in litigation in Europe. At the heart of parliamentary and public scrutiny, was the role of treasury, then headed by Mwai Kibaki, as Minister of Finance.
What we know of the litigation:
Information on the litigation is hard to come by. Nevertheless, research reveals two cases.
1. In the first, SA Coopee Lavalin v. Ken Ren Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd, a U.K. House of Lords decision of 1994, the court records the plaintiff as a Belgian company who had contracted with the Kenyan defendant (Ken Ren) to build a chemical plant in Kenya.
2. When a dispute was referred to arbitration by the ICC in London, the Belgian company sought security from Ken Ren, which had become insolvent,
3. on the ground that Ken Ren’s backers (which included the Kenyan Government) were unlikely and could not be forced to pay costs, should Ken Ren’s claim at the ICC fail
4.The House of Lords agreed to order security, partly on the basis that the insolvent Ken Ren was being funded by the Kenyan Government.
The second litigation ended more recently.
The ICC Arbitration proceedings, Republic of Kenya vs. Bawag of Austria, resulted in an award against Kenya in November 2000; and heralded the beginning of the re-entry of Ken Ren into the public consciousness.
Fast Forward to 2007:
Soon after Joe Nyagah’s altercation with John Michuki, on July 11th 2007, Peter Kenneth (Assistant Minister for Finance) tabled a list of all loans signed by the Government of Kenya between January 1963 and December 31st 2006.
On this list there are two Ken Ren related loans. Unpaid loans. Collectively, they are worth just over Ksh. 4.3 billion. The questions rapidly follow:
• Why would we have such loans on our books, in 2007 if the Ken Ren Fertiliser Company was never built?
• Why do the budget estimates provide for a payment of at least Ksh.268m on principal and interest payments for Ken Ren, which by all accounts ended in failure 30 years ago?
• Why should Kenyans pay for a 30 year old dud project?
• Who was responsible for getting us into this debt, in the first place?

There have been serious threats against potential witnesses of the ICC (Hague), but we now also know there has been murder too.
Top suspects like Uhuru, Muthaura and Ruto, are reported to have been directing a serious campaign to intimidate potential witnesses.
As Wikileaks cables now reveal, the November 2009 street-assassination of Mungiki spokesman Njuguna Gitau by reported undercover police officers on a busy Nairobi street, is directly linked to ICC’s witness protection subject.
According to Wikileaks cables, Gitau may have been the lynchpin that channeled funding from Uhuru Kenyatta during the latter’s sponsoring of Mungiki retaliatory murders and violence during the post-election violence. With that murder went down one high-priority witness with a “smoking gun” testimony.
Other witnesses must be guaranteed real protection if this ICC thing is to succeed.

from post-election violence witnesses reporting intimidation, many

While Kilonzo notes that threats
will complicate any prosecution of post-election violence suspects,
he continues to argue that he is powerless to protect them and
accuses Attorney General Amos Wako, who is responsible for
oversight of the witness protection program, of failing to fulfill
his duties. (Note: Wako was recently subjected to 212f visa
sanctions for his role in several high-level corruption cases, and
does not appear to feel any sense of urgency with regard to his
witness protection mandate.
Kilonzo’s suggestion that he has no ability to realize implementation of the
witness protection program is disingenuous at best. End note).
The bold truth is that successful investigation and prosecution of (esp) Uhuru Kenyatta and Francis Muthaura by Ocampo (the ICC) requires the FULL COOPERATION of the Kenyan government – which will not happen precisely because the two are at the very apex and center of that government.
The last few weeks have actually proved that Uhuru Kenyatta is in fact the de facto leader of Kenya under this lame-duck closing-moment of Kibaki’s tenure. Uhuru is the behind-the-scene director of Kibaki’s own political realignments. Uhuru makes the picks for crucial appointments announced by Kibaki. Uhuru has gained the support and endorsement of the Gikuyu elite, vigorously fearful of ceding power to political rivals (Uhuru’s endorsement by the Gikuyu glitterati was publicly espoused by John Michuki).
This de facto (and behind-the scene) leader of Kenya (Uhuru) has proved that his priority is to save himself from ICC prosecution. Using his vantage as Finance Minister, the now boldly-assertive and foul-tempered Uhuru Kenyatta, has been misallocating large amounts of Kenyan public resources in the singular bid to frustrate ICC prosecution of PEV.
Part of Uhuru’s directives have involved the FORCEFUL DISPATCH of Kalonzo Musyoka on the back-firing shuttle diplomacy mission across African capitals (like recently besieged Cairo and Tripoli) to mobilize anti-ICC sentiments and galvanize AU support for deferral of Kenya’s case.

Back to their joint role in stone-walling ICC probe of PEV. Uhuru, Muthaura and Ruto are doing everything possible to kill Kenya’s cooperation with ICC. They have certainly appreciated the reality that successful ICC prosecution requires some degree of cooperation with the local government. This is why Uhuru and Muthaura are clinging at the heart of government – to prevent cooperation.
Crucial aspects of this cooperation involve WITNESS PROTECTION and ASSET FREEZING/PROPERTY SEIZURES. ICC does not have its own witness protection but relies on cooperation from member states.
Keeping witnesses alive and safe will be the cornerstone of successful prosecution of the high-flying suspects like Uhuru, Ruto and Muthaura.
Uhuru is Kenya’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance. Francis Muthaura is the head of Kenya’s civil service (& also secretary to the cabinet). How could ICC receive cooperation regarding say – the freezing of assets of Muthaura – if the instructions to do so essentially have to pass through the same Muthaura? How could witnesses be guaranteed protection if everything regarding the witness protection program (funding, passing amendments to the Witness Protection Act 2010, etc) all revolve around Uhuru and Muthaura?
Witnesses are being killed and intimidated. Besides Gitau’s murder, former AP Deputy Commandant Oki Kaunya has also received death threats prompting his exile – facilitated by foreign diplomats cooperating with ICC. Muthaura has singularly stone-walled the ICC-requested taking of statements from Security chiefs during the PEV.
Uhuru and Ruto have mobilized parliamentary numbers to prevent the amendment of the Witness Protection Law to give it more independence, teeth and capacity. Uhuru is on full gear ready to hand-pick (on behalf of Kibaki), his own cousin Githu Muigai, to be Kenya’s next Attorney General, which would give him the bonus of having a first-hand account and details of witnesses enrolled in the witness protection program.
The Witness Protection program is under the AG’s office. Does anyone in this world think any witness protection program carried out under Githu Muigai would be credible in guaranteeing safety to witnesses slated to testify against Githu’s own cousin (& de facto employer) Uhuru Kenyatta?
Under Kenya’s current Witness Protection Act, the Witness Protection Unit is headed by an Uhuru-Kenyatta stooge called Alice Ondieki and the unit falls under the AG. Security is provided by the rotten and corrupt Kenya Police and AG has to directly give approval for anyone to enter the program. The program is also directly funded by Uhuru Kenyatta, through a line item in the budget of the Ministry of Justice. This program is too closely linked to Uhuru, Muthaura and the existing security forces. How can such a system protect a suspect set to testify against Uhuru Kenyatta or Francis Muthaura?
The impunity merchants are slowly grabbing back Kenya away from the reform path. All systems are being set to work for their individual interests and protection, not for common good. They are derailing implementation of the new constitution and deliberately triggering instability. Their latest language is laced with tribal epithets and slurs aimed at stoking ethnic divisions.
The ICC Prosecutor must be finding it quite FRUSTRATING and EXPENSIVE to successfully investigate and prosecute GOVERNMENT-INSIDER suspects in Kenya who have their hands in KENYA’S PUBLIC PURSE.
Britain recently donated some paltry £200,000 ($311,945) to the ICC Registrar to specifically offer protection to witnesses of PEV slated to testify at the ICC. Truth is – it’s not enough.

NAIROBI, Kenya April 20, 2011 – Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta has now publicly apologised to Kenyans for unsavoury remarks he made at various political forums before he went to The Hague.
The Finance Minister said he acted out of provocation following a sustained personal attack by Prime Minister Raila Odinga and that is why he had to respond.
“I had a situation which I had to deal and a situation which I felt a particular individual had a lot to do with… mtu anakuita hii, mtu anakuita hii (somebody calls you this, somebody calls you that) you know even if it were you, it reaches a point you say you have to respond,” he told professionals from Luo Nyanza at a Nairobi hotel.
“Otherwise it will look like what the man is saying is true. So I will say that for those who felt I hurt them, forgive me.”
“Those who know me really know that I am not prone to that kind of politics, but things sometimes and reach a level you feel they have become too hard,” he said.
The Gatundu South legislator announced that he would no longer engage in such politics and will instead focus his energies on the country’s development.
He said he was not worried about the war crime charges he is facing at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, because he has competent lawyers handling the matter.
“Definitely my hope and prayer is that where we are now we have the issue (case) we have those people in The Netherlands they will do their business because those are lawyers,” he said.
Mr Kenyatta is among six prominent Kenyans and a journalist accused of planning or financing the post election violence which broke out in the country soon after the 2007 disputed Presidential elections.
Some 1,500 people were killed during the worst violence in the country which also displaced more than half a million others from their homes.
The six made an initial appearance at the ICC earlier this month when the charges facing them which include murder, forcible transfer of persons and rape were formally read to them.
The other suspects include Head of the Civil Service Ambassador Francis Muthaura, former Police Commissioner Mohammed Hussein Ali and Suspended Higher Education Minister William Ruto.
Others are Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey and Radio Presenter Joshua arap Sang.
During the Wednesday meeting with Luo Nyanza Professionals, Mr Kenyatta assured them that he was ready and willing to work with all Kenyans irrespective of where they come from.
“I am a national leader and my development agenda has no boundaries, I will work with all Kenyans including those from Luo Nyanza. I am even ready and prepared to travel to Nyanza to do development projects,” he said.
The professionals who met him said were are also willing to support him on his 2012 presidential bid “because we are tired of divisive politics of one man.”
Mr Onyango Oloo who led the group of professionals to the meeting with the Finance Minister, said Luo Nyanza was open to all leaders who want to tour, contrary to public perception that it is a preserve of leaders from the ODM Party of Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Kenya is a country of good people,I loved my friends Kikuyu in Kakamega, we lived very friendly, but when I see leaders trying to fool Kenyans with the word Constitution and court of law and yet they violet the same laws I do pity them.

Kenya police chief denies mercenary claims
Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere has denied claims that there are mercenaries in the country targeting members of Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party. The police boss dismissed the claims by the MPs that there were Israeli mercenaries planted in Whitesands Hotel to stalk the Prime Minister during his recent tour of Mombasa two weeks ago. Iteere said they had carried out investigations and established that during the days the PM was at the hotel there were no Israeli nationals booked. Nominated MP Millie Odhiambo first raised alarm over the presence of the alleged mercenaries on Saturday after she was allegedly attacked and robbed of her property. Ms Odhiambo said the mercenaries were behind her attack in Suba at the weekend by six people armed with AK47 rifles. Lands Minister James Orengo also claimed some suspicious foreigners had sneaked into the country stirring a debate over the security of some senior ODM members. Iteere has further assured that the PM has been assigned adequate security and any person who becomes cognisant of a security threat to him should make a report to his security detail for immediate action. “We have directed the officer in charge of the Prime Minister’s security detail to arrest any suspicious character(s) suspected to be stalking the Prime Minister and hand them over to the nearest police station with details of their suspicious activities” said Iteere. The ODM legislators alleging that National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende, MP Alago Aluoch, Justice and Legal affairs committee chair Ababu Namwamba and herself were among the mercenaries’ targets. Earlier, Internal Security assistant minister Orwa Ojode said it was investigating the claims. Ojode told parliament on Wednesday that the claims were serious and are being accorded a similar attention. “This is a serious matter and police are investigating. Ken Ren Chemical and Fertiliser Company; a 30 year-old scandal had re-emerged, with less than 4 months to go before the 2007 presidential election.
A thumb nail sketch of Ken Ren:
In its hey-day, Ken Ren was the Goldenberg and Anglo Leasing of Kenyan public sector corruption. It had a mix of local and foreign players and was shrouded in mystery. Shrouded in mystery, for a generation of Kenyans, Ken Ren is almost completely unknown.
In the early 1970’s, a decision was made to enter into a joint venture with an American Company to establish a fertiliser processing plant at Mombasa, on the Kenyan Coast.
The company was called Ken Ren Chemical and Fertilizer Company. The government was both a shareholder and a guarantor for the factory.
The deal collapsed in scandal and the factory was never built. The company ended up in liquidation and embroiled in litigation in Europe. At the heart of parliamentary and public scrutiny, was the role of treasury, then headed by Mwai Kibaki, as Minister of Finance.
What we know of the litigation:
Information on the litigation is hard to come by. Nevertheless, research reveals two cases.
1. In the first, SA Coopee Lavalin v. Ken Ren Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd, a U.K. House of Lords decision of 1994, the court records the plaintiff as a Belgian company who had contracted with the Kenyan defendant (Ken Ren) to build a chemical plant in Kenya.
2. When a dispute was referred to arbitration by the ICC in London, the Belgian company sought security from Ken Ren, which had become insolvent,
3. on the ground that Ken Ren’s backers (which included the Kenyan Government) were unlikely and could not be forced to pay costs, should Ken Ren’s claim at the ICC fail
4.The House of Lords agreed to order security, partly on the basis that the insolvent Ken Ren was being funded by the Kenyan Government.
The second litigation ended more recently.
The ICC Arbitration proceedings, Republic of Kenya vs. Bawag of Austria, resulted in an award against Kenya in November 2000; and heralded the beginning of the re-entry of Ken Ren into the public consciousness.
Fast Forward to 2007:
Soon after Joe Nyagah’s altercation with John Michuki, on July 11th 2007, Peter Kenneth (Assistant Minister for Finance) tabled a list of all loans signed by the Government of Kenya between January 1963 and December 31st 2006.
On this list there are two Ken Ren related loans. Unpaid loans. Collectively, they are worth just over Ksh. 4.3 billion. The questions rapidly follow:

There have been serious threats against potential witnesses of the ICC (Hague), but we now also know there has been murder too.
Top suspects like Uhuru, Muthaura and Ruto, are reported to have been directing a serious campaign to intimidate potential witnesses.
As Wikileaks cables now reveal, the November 2009 street-assassination of Mungiki spokesman Njuguna Gitau by reported undercover police officers on a busy Nairobi street, is directly linked to ICC’s witness protection subject.
According to Wikileaks cables, Gitau may have been the lynchpin that channeled funding from Uhuru Kenyatta during the latter’s sponsoring of Mungiki retaliatory murders and violence during the post-election violence. With that murder went down one high-priority witness with a “smoking gun” testimony.
Other witnesses must be guaranteed real protection if this ICC thing is to succeed.

from post-election violence witnesses reporting intimidation, many
of whom testified before the Waki Commission, and who have
therefore already attracted unwelcome attention from post-election

While Kilonzo notes that threats
will complicate any prosecution of post-election violence suspects,
he continues to argue that he is powerless to protect them and
accuses Attorney General Amos Wako, who is responsible for
oversight of the witness protection program, of failing to fulfill
his duties. (Note: Wako was recently subjected to 212f visa
sanctions for his role in several high-level corruption cases, and
does not appear to feel any sense of urgency with regard to his
witness protection mandate.
Kilonzo’s suggestion that he has no ability to realize implementation of the
witness protection program is disingenuous at best. End note).
The bold truth is that successful investigation and prosecution of (esp) Uhuru Kenyatta and Francis Muthaura by Ocampo (the ICC) requires the FULL COOPERATION of the Kenyan government – which will not happen precisely because the two are at the very apex and center of that government.
The last few weeks have actually proved that Uhuru Kenyatta is in fact the de facto leader of Kenya under this lame-duck closing-moment of Kibaki’s tenure. Uhuru is the behind-the-scene director of Kibaki’s own political realignments. Uhuru makes the picks for crucial appointments announced by Kibaki. Uhuru has gained the support and endorsement of the Gikuyu elite, vigorously fearful of ceding power to political rivals (Uhuru’s endorsement by the Gikuyu glitterati was publicly espoused by John Michuki).
This de facto (and behind-the scene) leader of Kenya (Uhuru) has proved that his priority is to save himself from ICC prosecution. Using his vantage as Finance Minister, the now boldly-assertive and foul-tempered Uhuru Kenyatta, has been misallocating large amounts of Kenyan public resources in the singular bid to frustrate ICC prosecution of PEV.
Part of Uhuru’s directives have involved the FORCEFUL DISPATCH of Kalonzo Musyoka on the back-firing shuttle diplomacy mission across African capitals (like recently besieged Cairo and Tripoli) to mobilize anti-ICC sentiments and galvanize AU support for deferral of Kenya’s case.
Another of Uhuru’s fingerprints was Kibaki’s faux-pas in the nominations of the next Chief Justice, Attorney General, DPP and DoB.
Uhuru’s Tango with Ruto – in wrenching off Henry Kosgey and Sally Kosgei from mainstream ODM (using threats of prosecution for corruption) is another of his latest handiwork. ODM Ministers Charity Ngilu and Musalia Mudavadi are still being “processed” along similar lines.Does anyone now realize the unseen force that has been remotely feeding PLO Lumumba’s in-tray at KACC? No wonder PLO’s appointment was swiftly confirmed by Parliament.
[b]Uhuru (helped by Ruto) have similarly been coordinating the publicly unpopular Parliamentary effort to effort to pull Kenya out of ICC. Their string of ‘successes’ bolstered by the parliamentary numbers of impunity footsoldiers has definitely emboldened them, and rejuvenated the perceived indomitability of their coordinated 2012 presidential bid. Back to their joint role in stone-walling ICC probe of PEV. Uhuru, Muthaura and Ruto are doing everything possible to kill Kenya’s cooperation with ICC. They have certainly appreciated the reality that successful ICC prosecution requires some degree of cooperation with the local government. This is why Uhuru and Muthaura are clinging at the heart of government – to prevent cooperation.
Crucial aspects of this cooperation involve WITNESS PROTECTION and ASSET FREEZING/PROPERTY SEIZURES. ICC does not have its own witness protection but relies on cooperation from member states.
Keeping witnesses alive and safe will be the cornerstone of successful prosecution of the high-flying suspects like Uhuru, Ruto and Muthaura.
Uhuru is Kenya’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance. Francis Muthaura is the head of Kenya’s civil service (& also secretary to the cabinet). How could ICC receive cooperation regarding say – the freezing of assets of Muthaura – if the instructions to do so essentially have to pass through the same Muthaura? How could witnesses be guaranteed protection if everything regarding the witness protection program (funding, passing amendments to the Witness Protection Act 2010, etc) all revolve around Uhuru and Muthaura?
Witnesses are being killed and intimidated. Besides Gitau’s murder, former AP Deputy Commandant Oki Kaunya has also received death threats prompting his exile – facilitated by foreign diplomats cooperating with ICC. Muthaura has singularly stone-walled the ICC-requested taking of statements from Security chiefs during the PEV.
Uhuru and Ruto have mobilized parliamentary numbers to prevent the amendment of the Witness Protection Law to give it more independence, teeth and capacity. Uhuru is on full gear ready to hand-pick (on behalf of Kibaki), his own cousin Githu Muigai, to be Kenya’s next Attorney General, which would give him the bonus of having a first-hand account and details of witnesses enrolled in the witness protection program.
The Witness Protection program is under the AG’s office. Does anyone in this world think any witness protection program carried out under Githu Muigai would be credible in guaranteeing safety to witnesses slated to testify against Githu’s own cousin (& de facto employer) Uhuru Kenyatta?
Under Kenya’s current Witness Protection Act, the Witness Protection Unit is headed by an Uhuru-Kenyatta stooge called Alice Ondieki and the unit falls under the AG. Security is provided by the rotten and corrupt Kenya Police and AG has to directly give approval for anyone to enter the program. The program is also directly funded by Uhuru Kenyatta, through a line item in the budget of the Ministry of Justice. This program is too closely linked to Uhuru, Muthaura and the existing security forces. How can such a system protect a suspect set to testify against Uhuru Kenyatta or Francis Muthaura?
The impunity merchants are slowly grabbing back Kenya away from the reform path. All systems are being set to work for their individual interests and protection, not for common good. They are derailing implementation of the new constitution and deliberately triggering instability. Their latest language is laced with tribal epithets and slurs aimed at stoking ethnic divisions.
The ICC Prosecutor must be finding it quite FRUSTRATING and EXPENSIVE to successfully investigate and prosecute GOVERNMENT-INSIDER suspects in Kenya who have their hands in KENYA’S PUBLIC PURSE.
Britain recently donated some paltry £200,000 ($311,945) to the ICC Registrar to specifically offer protection to witnesses of PEV slated to testify at the ICC. Truth is – it’s not enough.
As Ocampo continues probing Kenya’s PEV, preparing witnesses, and awaiting Pre-Trial Chamber II Judges decision on his request for summonses, the ICC Prosecutor must do one more thing – investigate who killed the potential ICC witness and former Mungiki spokesman, Njuguna Gitau.

NAIROBI, Kenya April 20, 2011 – Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta has now publicly apologised to Kenyans for unsavoury remarks he made at various political forums before he went to The Hague.
The Finance Minister said he acted out of provocation following a sustained personal attack by Prime Minister Raila Odinga and that is why he had to respond.
“I had a situation which I had to deal and a situation which I felt a particular individual had a lot to do with… mtu anakuita hii, mtu anakuita hii (somebody calls you this, somebody calls you that) you know even if it were you, it reaches a point you say you have to respond,” he told professionals from Luo Nyanza at a Nairobi hotel.
“Otherwise it will look like what the man is saying is true. So I will say that for those who felt I hurt them, forgive me.”
“Those who know me really know that I am not prone to that kind of politics, but things sometimes and reach a level you feel they have become too hard,” he said.
The Gatundu South legislator announced that he would no longer engage in such politics and will instead focus his energies on the country’s development.
He said he was not worried about the war crime charges he is facing at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, because he has competent lawyers handling the matter.
“Definitely my hope and prayer is that where we are now we have the issue (case) we have those people in The Netherlands they will do their business because those are lawyers,” he said.
Mr Kenyatta is among six prominent Kenyans and a journalist accused of planning or financing the post election violence which broke out in the country soon after the 2007 disputed Presidential elections.
Some 1,500 people were killed during the worst violence in the country which also displaced more than half a million others from their homes.
The six made an initial appearance at the ICC earlier this month when the charges facing them which include murder, forcible transfer of persons and rape were formally read to them.
The other suspects include Head of the Civil Service Ambassador Francis Muthaura, former Police Commissioner Mohammed Hussein Ali and Suspended Higher Education Minister William Ruto.
Others are Tinderet MP Henry Kosgey and Radio Presenter Joshua arap Sang.
During the Wednesday meeting with Luo Nyanza Professionals, Mr Kenyatta assured them that he was ready and willing to work with all Kenyans irrespective of where they come from.
“I am a national leader and my development agenda has no boundaries, I will work with all Kenyans including those from Luo Nyanza. I am even ready and prepared to travel to Nyanza to do development projects,” he said.
The professionals who met him said were are also willing to support him on his 2012 presidential bid “because we are tired of divisive politics of one man.”
Mr Onyango Oloo who led the group of professionals to the meeting with the Finance Minister, said Luo Nyanza was open to all leaders who want to tour, contrary to public perception that it is a preserve of leaders from the ODM Party of Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
