This is a message in response to massive emails about pictures taken at the 2010 Africa Night Cruise. Every photo is being processed individually before upload. This is important because the pictures have to be numbered and branded with Ritz Society’s marks. In case there is anybody who needs a clean and larger picture without the Ritz marks (say for printing), send email to ritzsociety(at)gmail.com. They are being numbered for easy identification.
All pictures which were taken during the historic Cruise will eventually be available for download at the Ritz Society’s website, Ritz Society’s Facebook page or at KSB where a “Category” named “2010 Africa Night Cruise” will be set up. This is to simplify dissemination of the pictures.
I made several promises to individuals that the pictures would be mailed but I just discovered that this is not possible because if I have to sort out all of them, it will take me at least three months (working 24/7) to identify which photos are sent to who and other difficult stuff. Besides, I cannot associate all emails with the right pictures. I am trying to avoid a situation where I may end up sending wrong pictures to people and I hope this will be understood.
Another issue is that just like anybody else, I am an extremely busy person and I am not working with web updates continuously so if the pictures are not rolling as fast as they should, don’t put pressure. I understand that everybody who was taken a picture has a right to these pictures but put into consideration the fact that uploading them is not as easy as answering the call of nature. There is no doubt that I took some very unique pictures. What I can promise is that they will eventually be available however long it takes.
In as much as I will do whatever is necessary to get the photos up, I have other stuff to do so those sending emails should consider this fact. If you need a picture urgently for some reason, call me so that I can consider making your case a priority.
Thank you for all your emails even though I have been unable to respond to every individual query because of time factor. The Cruise was historic and I do agree that it was a moment to treasure. This is why the photos were taken in an organized way and why they will all be made available for download. Remember that the Ritz Society has the final word on copy-right of the pictures because they remain the intellectual property of the Society as per written agreements.
