Dr. Adhu Awiti, a leading member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and former MP, is in town and will meet Kenyans on Saturday August 21st to discuss the post-referendum situation in Kenya and implementation of the new Constitution.
A lot of discussions are currently underway following the victory of the Yes side at the just concluded Referendum and it will be interesting to have Dr. Adhu discuss the situation on Saturday and to give his perspective from the point of view of the grass roots.
Dr. Adhu is very close to Prime Minister Raila Odinga and was appointed Cabinet Minister by former President Daniel arap Moi along with Mr. Odinga in the run up to the 2002 elections.
The meeting, which has been facilitated by ODM-Scandinavia, will take place at Central Skolan (Skolgatan 5) in Märsta from 16.00 hrs. After the meeting, the audience will be entertained by Atommy Sifa, a leading Benga Artist in Kenya who arrives in Stockholm on Friday August 20th and who will hit the stage at 22hrs.
Mrs Hellen Opwapo, Chairlady of ODM-Scandinavia, has appealed to Kenyans to turn up at the meeting to meet Dr. Adhu who will also field questions from the audience.
The Disco session will be managed by DJ Jimmy who told KSB that he has a lot of surprises for his audience on Sato. From every avenue in Kenya-Stockholm, it looks like all roads will be leading to Märsta come Saturday so don’t say you were never told!

I have read through both public announcements,that is that Dr.Adhu will be having a conversation with Kenyans at Central Skolan Märsta,then there will be entertaintament by Atomi Sifa, musicians and dancers.That said ,my concern is whether the entrance fee of SEK 100,is pegged to include both events,or only to the entertainment part of the days events.I am rasing this as it might be seen as Dr,.Adhu has come on a paid lecture ,this of course he is entitlted to ,however the public has the right to be informed so as to make the neccessary arangemnents to attend the event which caters to ones taste. Some word on the matter would suffice.
KSB: Tonny wacha siasa about Adhu being here on a paid lecture. The Atommy show was announced well before Dr. Adhu arrived in Sweden and instead of splitting Wakenya with a separate meeting of Dr. Adhu and Atommy playing at a separate place, the organizers of both the Atommy show and Dr. Adhu’s public meeting thought that it could be wiser to combine the two events so that Kenyans can be together. In any case, you could have read the adverts carefully because the Atommy show starts at 20 hrs and Adhu’s meeting starts at 16.00 hrs so please, spare KSB readers unnecessary theatrics. With your status as a learned friend, the issue ought to have been a matter of simple logic but you like splitting hairs. Please, play down the rigmarole!
