I work for the production company, B-Reel Film AB, and we are planning to make a campaign for “Save the Children”. We need babies from around the world for the film. What we lack now is a little baby from East Africa (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia, Kenya, etc.) who should be in the age group of 3-15 weeks.
The project is also about Save the Children’s new campaign titled “Life’s Lottery”. It will be shown on the Save the Children’s web site during spring and summer of 2010. The campaign is intended to portray the important work that the organization does around the world and, hopefully, get more people to get involved in Save the Children activites and donate more money.
Filming is next week (any day between January 25 to January 29) and will take about 3-4 hours in Stockholm, probably in Södermalm. The child will be filmed while dressed in fabrics and clothing typical of the country / continent he/she is supposed to represent. In one scene, the child may be in, perhaps, a small cradle while in another scene perhaps only on a blanket or cushion to portray vulnerability in which many children who need help are born. Naturally, the parents will be present during the entire filming process. An allowance of 999 SEK will be paid to parents.
I hope you know someone or can tell others about this campaign so that we can find a baby that can help next week (ie week 4). Thanks and let me hear from you.

The querry is?,why a child from the diapora and not a child from the country of origin, where the recipient is of need? The countries mentioned ,as everyone knows have been suffering from acute economical mismanagement as a result of luck political will, social injustice, judicial killings, corruption, total colapsed government, ethnic cleansing…….so if B.reel wants to run a positive campaign that will affect the subject positively they should spend money and run there campaigns in these countries so that, when they run these adverts during the summer of 2010 the interested sponsers should get the real deal and not “suger coated campaigns”as B-Reels wants. I smell a stinking rat….somebody wants to gain from us without doing the actual intended job……tell us the truth and not half truths…our babies should not be subject to ill intended campaigns,B-Reels go to Africa and film.
Ok, so does this mean that they dont have real cases of kids that they “save”, that they have to stage it?? i dont get it.
KSB: Good query. My understanding is that going for the real thing boarders on a “documentary” while staging it is an advert.
Good comment by private eye: If the real thing boarders on a documentary why don’t they import the required baby, stage the advert then return the baby to it’s origin? There is a huge diffrence between a baby nestled with poverty and the one’s we have here in diaspora.
