Mrs Petty Osewe Okulo, a Kenyan Stockholmer, has thanked all Kenyansm friends and well wishers who helped in cash or kind following the passing of her in Law in Kenya. At a funds drive that she called last Saturday, 8,300 Kr was raised.
Speaking to KSB, Petty said that she was overwhelmed by the attendance and happy with the amount which was contributed. She said that she was faced with a difficult problem because her In Law had left behind a huge hospital bill which needed to be sorted out and that the body had been detained by authorities in Kenya until the bill could be sorted, prompting her to call the funds drive.
“I am glad to report that the bill was paid, the body of my In Law was released and now burial plans are underway”, she said. She thanked all contributors for their solidarity and hoped that Kenyans here will continue to show the same sense of unity whenever a Kenyan is in serious need of help.
