The other day, I wrote about an alcoholic Kenyan who called me and began to pester me with “garbage talk”. Little did I know that the story would lead to a barrage of calls from KSB fans, trying to find out the identity of the guy out of curiosity thereby creating an infectious “Rumor fever” in Kenya-Stockholm. The situation is so serious that I have to add something.
The identity of the guy will not be released under any circumstance although the guy wanted his name published. He was under the influence when he bragged that his name could be circulated but the danger of doing so is that he can easily sue KSB and there will be no defence because KSB does not tape callers to use the material as evidence in court.
Kenyans in Stockholm circulating possible names and trying to allege that it was this or that ka guy are doing so at their own risk and KSB will not take any responsibility for any names doing the rounds at the moment. What I can confirm is that the conversation took place and nothing else.
Three names have already been dropped by seven callers seeking a confirmation so that they can continue to spread “hot gossip”. We are in January and Kenyans here need to start the year clean of gossip aimed at character assassination. Just like Kibaki said that the “elections are now behind us” after rigging elections, let us leave gossip “behind us”.
The story was written as a matter of concern and to send signals that the guy needs prayers. KSB does not need to name the guy for him to qualify for prayers. If you want to help, you can pray like “Oh God almighty, help the guy mentioned at KSB in connection with the call to Osewe…” and something like that. Kenyans at Bagarmossen prayed for post election victims without knowing their names and the same case can apply.
Although it reflected the reality, the story was not positive and since KSB is not in the business of maligning Kenyans, I wish to state categorically that the story was published in good faith with the belief that it would lead to assistance. Those who have converted it into hay for Kenya-Stockholm propaganda are doing so at their own risk and KSB will not be responsible for any consequences (real or imagined) that may arise as a result of the rumors.
Okoth Osewe
Osewe, rest assured that Kenya-Stockholmers know the guy so well. I was at a pub yesterday and immediately I mentioned the story, three Kenyans called his rightful name. You can never be sued by this man. He was beaten at a lawsuit by his ex-wife who later took all his belongings. He is a bloody coward, educated as he is. He is irresponsible and despite the huge salary he pockets every month, cannot even meet the necessary social obligations as a father. No wonder women run away from him. Don’t even sweat because he is a socially useless braggart.
And by the way, he is also a wife beater. He used to beat his ex-wife and there are police records in Sweden on how he broke her ribs and dented her faces with blows. He is lucky that she never sued him for the beatings.
He had earlier been put under house arrest for beating an ex-girlfriend. He can never sue you because his finances have already been depleted from numerous court cases. He is a useless alcoholic.
KSB: As a responsible media outlet, his name cannot be released at KSB neither is KSB responsible for names doing the rounds. The insight you give is interesting. Keep us updated.
This drunkard was put under electronic surveillance (fotboja) for beating an ex-girlfriend while riding a cab with her in Stockholm. The driver had to call the police after witnessing him batter and even try to push the woman outside the speeding car.
After years of accumulated personal frustration, he had to open his venomous mouth to spit garbage at Osewe for no apparent reason. He still has a chance to redeem himself from such stupidity if he seeks professional help or gets free prayers as suggested.
This guy has a bad temper, yet when you first meet him, would think he is a perfect gentleman. He is a typical chauvinist who belittles women but also wants to be with them. In this day and age, who wants a bossy man who thinks he is all that, yet he is not even near there? My Kenyan sisters should keep away from him.
I feel sorry for him that despite those brand new mobile phones, an apartment on mortgage and a huge salary, his life is so empty.
KSB: You people in Stockholm are amazing. How the hell do you know this guy?
Osewe, determining your unnamed KSB characters is normally easy. Your original story bore certain traits e.g. he is an intellectual, has a work mobile phone that he displays and does not want to be called on it and drinks habitually. Those categories were very specific for some Kenya-Stockholmers in the know, so it is a matter of zeroing in upon the few that fit and we have our culprit.
Such characters are seen at the common pubs that Kenya-Stockholmers frequent, sipping an occasional whisky, wearing a suit with a briefcase and talking big. He is in a wrong country because people just want to let off steam at those joints and have no time for big empty talk.
KSB: The people asked for comments to be opened and KSB responded. Thanks for your clarification.
This is ridiculous, “anonymous commentators “- everybody has skeletons in the closet. Isitoshe some people by the way deserve thorough beating.
Asiye Jua: Comments were opened here and if appropriate for KSB, they get published. All have skeletons in their closets, so you do not need to remind us.
If you meant “some women need to be beaten thoroughly”, then that’s a barbaric act to be condemned. If it does not work between a man and a woman, there are more civilized ways of parting.
I think the subject being debated upon is what all the commentators have dwelt upon. Osewe’s blog is “dedicated to news and happenings around Kenyans in Stockholm”.
KSB: Asiye Jua, what did you mean? Comments are being allowed here under the “Freedom of speech Act” that was signed by myself into law last year as the Head of State in this Republic.
