A Kenyan woman and her little baby girl who was turned back at Arlanda International Airport on Monday travelled to Kenya yesterday, (Tuesday December 9) in the morning after her ticket hitch was fixed by the Kenyan Travel Agency.
When she went to check in at Arlanda, she was told that her name was not on the passenger list for the flight she was scheduled to take, forcing her to return home.
According to the Agency, which spoke to KSB, the Kenyan woman had a serious problem because when she booked the flight, she indicated that she was being accompanied by “an infant” which in terms of flight bookings, is a child under two years.
According to the Agent, the main problem is that the child celebrated her 2nd birthday in November this year, time when the ticket had already been purchased and paid for at the rate of “under two years”. When she went to the airport, the Agent told KSB that the issue had not been sorted out because the ticket had not been adjusted to reflect the baby’s current age.
“I told her not to get to the Airport but she did so without clearance”, the Agent told KSB.
According to the Agent, the ticket was not ready and when the matter was brought before the Agency, the Kenyan lady sorted out the price difference and the matter was resolved causing her to travel 24 hours after she was turned away. The woman and her daughter are currently in Kenya.
The Agent said that there are internal issues which never comes out when such incidences are reported and added that it was his responsibility as a businessman who values customers to correct the wrong impression that may have been created to the effect that the Agency is incompetent.
He said that there was nothing “defective” with the ticket as reported in KSB because according to the Agency, the Kenyan woman “had no ticket” as long as the price difference related to the child remained unresolved.
In the meantime, Mr. Clay Onyango, a Kenyan businessman, has told KSB that he is not the Agent being referred to in the case and advised that Kenyans should stop mentioning his name in this case because he has nothing to do with it.
In a text message sent to KSB, Mr. Clay said that he wound up his Travel Agency business two years ago and advised that his name should be kept out of the scandal. He was concerned that a commentator had mentioned his name in the scandal and took the position that this was unfair as he is not involved. We hope that readers will take note and leave Mr. Clay alone.

Good that the travel agent has come out in the open to defend this case. However, what was reported by the disgruntled passenger was completely different. Some of her relatives too testify that there was more than the explanation given by the agent. Apart from this particular case, it is still true from what is now general knowledge, that this agent is well known for misleading his customers, and this is not the first case. There is more coming.
I just cant belive that Adiwa could even say that the lady is to blame. Ooh my God you have no remose at all plis stop your greadyness this is not the first case as stella has said there is also a lady soon going home and when she had about this she called to find out if everything is ok only to find that the ticket no. is not indicated and now you cannot be reached by her the same thing you did to the other woman.
There is a case that you did not include the laggage and the other lady had to pay an extra sek 2000, onother case you didnt pay for airport fee to a lay going to moscow ooh my God what is so wroug with you.
Whatever you do in this worl will come back to you.
Flora, it is good that you could mention the name of this agent who is Antony Adiwa of SAANDA TRAVEL. Let us not hide and feel shy but to say openly that many clients have suffered due to his own greed. He never does his work efficiently and is quick to give rude defenses yet he is a total failure in booking tickets.
He should be named and shamed for spoiling the good nature of Kenyans who were at first out to support him but he is so arrogant and greedy. Compare his prices with other agents and you will see that he eats extra, blaming it on rising fuel prices. Kenyans should speak more because it is their money being taken. Ashindwe!!
Flora, that was hot. You mean that there is another Kenyan lady in trouble because of Adiwa? Oh my!
Last year I booked a ticket from him but almost got stuck in Kenya before returning, and only got saved by a relative at Kenya Airways in Nairobi. I was told there were technical mistakes in the booking caused by Adiwa. I swore never to buy a ticket from him again.
For those who are not aware, travel agents also use the Internet to do the same booking that you can do yourself and avoid paying them that extra money they rob you. There are so many sites with competitive prices, so why get more headache from an agent whose work is below quality?
I just talked to this lady friend from Ghana who had a nasty experience with Saanda Travel 2 years ago, she almost lost her job when she got stranded in Accra because of Adiwa’s booking mess. She warned all her friends never to buy tickets from him.
Flora you are right about the woman who got into trouble during her trip to Moscow because of Adiwa. I know her and she also swore never to buy a ticket from him again.
When Osewe wrote about the travel agent yesterday who defended himself against incompetence, I could imagine his usually unapologetic stance. He thinks he is so smooth robbing us customers.
As a woman and a mother, I feel sorry for the lady who was turned away with a child and luggage. This is so ruthless of Adiwa. But again, does he respect us women? He does not care because he should never do this to a woman with a child. I know 3 women friends who have suffered due to his greed and careless booking.
KSB NOTE: Commentators are encouraged to come up with concrete evidence instead of just saying that people have been robbed. For example, If Adiwa is being named here and his Agency, what is the name of the Moscow girl? or the other victims? Could they come up and support these allegations?
KSB: Lensa, the sister of Dan Aroka, is the one who got stranded recently in Arlanda and Pamela Sakajja is the one who got frustrated during her trip to Moscow. These are true happenings, so I wonder why Kenyans are shying away from mentioning them.
Other non-Kenyans caught arguing with Adiwa due to bad bookings are nameless, but were met at his former Fredhemsgatan office.
KSB: Stella, this is now more concrete.
This fellows should appear in aftonbladet and metro.LET THEM FACE CONSEQUENCES EVER TO BE TOLD.
the man deserve nobel price of “wizi” at least for this year only! shifting his Gikomba to Stockholm???
