A Kenyan woman and her child were yesterday turned back at Arlanda International Airport after they arrived at check-in only to be told that her name was not on the passenger list of the flight she expected to take to Kenya.
According to information gathered by KSB, the woman had bought the ticket from a Kenyan travel agency but she could not be allowed to check in because the ticket was defective. A source told KSB that the woman was very devastated when she learnt that she could not travel to join members of her family.
Investigations have revealed that the Travel agency in question has been contacted by a Kenyan man who has been helping the woman although it is not clear when the woman may travel. Cases of Kenyans getting stuck in Kenya or being unable to travel because of defective tickets are on the rise.

The problem of getting stranded at airports is caused by Kenyan travel agents in Stockholm who are incompetent and don’t handle the whole flight booking process efficiently. Many Kenyans have gone through such incidents repeatedly, losing money and time, yet sometimes are not even compensated by these greedy agents.
Meanwhile Osewe, do you know if this particular lady managed to travel after being turned away?
This fellow kenyan of mine who was stranded at the airport had gotten a ticket from a Kenyan agency.This greed agency has one problem.
1. He never went to school properly.Dealing with traveling agency needs somebody who can be accounted for. It is not like selling omena in the market.If this traveling want to run traveling agency,go to school get information on how to deal with traveling agency other than embarrasing us.
2.If the business is it too difficult for you start omena business or sukama wiki.
3. if you are not ready to study upto svenska som andra språk B there is no way you can come out in this sweden some guys sacrifice denie themselves good things greed money just to get knowledge why don,t you do the same other than embarrasing us education here is free.
4.You can as well start banana business matoke like this other kenyan another school drop out.Because him he can not even manage matoke business and then l hear is calling himself a successful business man where? this are people who ate school fees walking bouncing like onkwokowo doomed headed.
The point l,m trying to make is that accept defeat and take private lessions if you want to do business.
My friend was not comforted on the phone by this travel agent when she confronted him about the failed departure at Arlanda. This agent is so arrogant and thinks that by being rude to customers he is always right. He even overcharged my friend for the ticket. My fellow Kenyans look for customer-friendly agents to buy your tickets from.
KSB: Stella, how much was charged and how much was the overcharge?
KSB: My friend paid 15,000 kroner for a 3-month ticket together with her two and a half year old baby. The agent charged her around 9000kr and the remainder was for the kid. There is an extra charge that my friend will pay him when she returns to Sweden.
You can’t just believe the inconvenience of traveling with a child to the Arlanda only to be turned away, not because of her mistake, but due to this greedy agent. My friend wept so much because of this horrible experience.
I know three more Kenyan friends who have suffered due to this agent’s incompetence and even lost money and had to buy new tickets in Kenya. He does not apologize to his customers and has no sympathy, yet he is the one who makes mistakes.
One of my friends said that twice she found him quarreling with West African clients in his office after he had messed up their tickets and they got stranded in their countries. These people were booked wrongly by this agent we are discussing.
Guys save yourselves the hussle and get tickets direct from airlines online!!!
I frequently travel back home and had relied on one Kenyan guy who had a travel agency but has since ventured into other businesses and does not deal with ticketing anymore. It is interesting to hear that another Kenyan ticket agency exists and being the frequent traveller I am, it would be interesting to identify this agency so as to personally avoid such an occurence on my part. Mr. Osewe I urge you to divulge the name of the agency involved in the spirit of public interest and service. Days of transparency are here to stay. TOBOA!!!!!
