  1. Off course it should be thrown out of the window. The over 1000 Kenyans who lost their lives during the disputed elections all committed suicide. Committing suicide is a sin.

  2. The Waki Report addresses the causes and effects of post election violence, and gives recommendations based on this basis. Violence erupted in Nyanza, Central, Rift Valley, Nairobi, Western and The Coast provinces of the republic. One thing is clear however; acts of spontaneous violence were few and far between as opposed to acts of calculated, well planned and premeditated ethnic cleansing. The perpetuators, master minds and advocates of this ethnic cleansing are still walking free and any sane responsible Kenyan would agree that they are answerable for crimes committed against humanity as a whole and Kenyan nation in particular. Many misguided advocates of tribalism in Kenya tend to justify their bigotry by perpetuating the myth of land grabbing in Kenya as been done by ordinary Kenyans and that these Kenyans reap benefits accrued by the election of a President from their community. Only one aspect of the myth is true, land demarcation has been unjust. Tribalism has been the preferred and effective tool used in the divide and rule politics of the morally corrupt and intellectually bankrupt political elite. These political elite have managed to hoodwink the general Kenyan populace with the imagined dangers attributed by being governed by this and that tribe. The result is a country that has 300 millionaires and over 29 million beggars; weak trade unions; unbridled corruption; stranglehold on Kenya’s resources by multinational companies (foreigners); the emergence of the Kenyan serf. This tend translates to eroding quality in healthcare, education, living standards etc etc. The Waki report illuminates that they are forces and individuals within this elite that will go to any lengths to keep the status quo as it is. Moreover the leaked document available on the Internet reveals that the individuals named by the report come from all the ethnic communities involved, as both aggressors and revenge seekers. It is my supposition that honest and sober Kenyans with a decent grasp on reality would see the Waki report for what it is. Not as a witch-hunt targeting a particular community but as an attempt to bring accountability with regard to Kenyan leaders and politicians. The culture of plundering and raping the Kenyan people with impunity has to end.
It is therefore literally nauseating to read a post of this nature, from an obviously literate Kenyan. He apparently subscribes to this culture where the political elite hide behind tribe whenever they commit hideous and criminal acts in an attempt to stay in power. Everyone regardless of tribe is subject to the law of the land and when in the position of authority answerable, depending on what they have done, forces beyond our borders. If impartiality is in question, I don’t see the problem with seeking assistant from international arbiters and for justice. This time nobody should buy their way out or intimidate Kenyans with talk of community punishment in an attempt to abdicate from responsibility.

  3. Kip, i do think you have narrowed yourself into the so called “kalenjin nationalism”, whereby some few elites within the Kalenjin community have been advancing their political interests by accusing the Kikuyus of taking or “cheating” them and taking their land.
I do agree with Milton that land demarcation was not done in the rightiful way because freedom fighters(Mau Mau) got nothing and instead homeguards(traitors or sellouts) reaped from our real fighters and infact they are the ones who are still in power even today.
After the disputed General elections in Kenya, ODM’s Secretary General, Prof. Anyang Nyong’o is on record as having said that they were taking PNU and Kibaki to the Hague for “genocide”.
“Orkoyoit” William Arap Ruto, was one of those who negotiated with PNU under Dr. Kofi Annan’s chairmanship and agreed to the formation of the Grand Coalition and he was also privy to the formation of the Waki commission and he knew very well what that commission was mandated to do.
Today you can know who the warlords are because they are shouting from their roof tops and now they are trying to play the tribal cards by claiming that certain community is being targeted.
First and foremost, these tribal chiefs never fought for the plight of their communities but only for themselves to be propelled into power and further their own selfish interests.
Raila Odinga was got his votes nationally and if they are people who are feeling that they have been sacrificed, in the Hague they can tell us what they actually did.
Justice Waki, handed an envelop of suspects and according to international law, one is deemed inconent until proved guilty. Why all this loud cry if one is innocent?
Those who committed crime against humanity should carry their own cross without draging in their communities.
Kip, politics of impunity is no more and will never happen again in Kenya.

  4. Hello Wakenya,
This just goes on to re-enforce what has been said that “we” have to get real and stop this circus of dis-information,misuse of the public square then attempt to bleach oneself as messiah. The time has come for those who are not scared of standing up to be counted not being on the sidelines ,shouting ,and writing in defence of ,matters that are infact re-cycled stuff from them days,to be counted.Kenya lost its collective will to be whole when ,a generation was sidleined by politics of disinformation .This cannot be attributed to Moi ,or to Kenyatta ,but also ,it has alot to do with the way the colonial govt. left the newly minted Republic without collective responsibility.Divide and rule was the way we were governned,so what do you expect of those who have been at the helm .So in as much as we can hypothesise, look for reason to be hopeful ,what is known as Kenya must take a collective step back ,and begin the process of undoing wrongs, historiacl ,political ,economical and to greater extent educational to be able to sort the mess.My take is that respect for ones self comes from a people and thats why l advocate for pride in community thats healthy and respectful,in harmony with others and pursuing dialogue instead of accusatory and hawkish stances.
Our institutions ,be they executive arms ,judicial or administratve ,have in themselves not acknowledged that ,there exists such deep imbedded pride and affilliation to ones own community. The moment we respect this fact then a time for real national healing will begin. We have as those who see ,let those who do not be manipulated to such a disastrous end .Talking of historical distortions and quotong others will not help.Lets get real and say ,its our time to be more forceful in ensuring that injustices like those that were visited upon us by the powers of the day and continue to be used in this day will never be.Facts will remain and using them to fortify our arguements ,in my opinion makes dialogue not the much easier but fraught with hair splitting. As Kenyans lets see beyond parochial documents ,instead ask ourselves ,is all the energy ,the expenditure ,notwithstanding the lives cost worth it to step back and do a re-think.Let not expect that justice will done when those clamouring for do not have the capacity ,northe influence in any form to achieve it.So brothers lets keep it real .

  5. Kip,

How i wish you could be Ruto’s advocate he will surely loose the case sample you have told us more than we knew.(extracts from your note are in “”)

“…The report acknowledges that they only interviewed 15 people in Eldoret and non of whom was a Kalenjin”.
    – Which kalenjin was killed unless he had gone to either kill rape or burn houses?

“….get rid of Madoadoa” This is a tired line that found a home in Akiwumi report and was later adopted by the KHRC”
If Akiwumi report was acted upon impunity will have ended. Perhaps kalenjins confused mass action with mass murder. An election was stolen, Kisumu was crying, how many were butchered there? or was greatest lose on kalenjins? Kalenjins had their own agenda – forget stolen election.

“The report ….relied on security briefing from the nation’s security apparatus but …. did not consider the briefing may have been partisan owing to the well known tribalized nature of Kenya’s security apparatus”.
It is well known most of security for over 28 years ago and even now are still KALENJINS!!!

“Raila is rushing to embrace this piece of junk. … in a hurry to reposition himself for 2012 … it is wrong for this guy to throw our people under the bus. . ….Raila will smile all the way to the bank when Ruto and other …. are hauled to The Hague.”
Kip this is the mentality of a guilt person.

“The Majimbo song will be an old version folksong and Moi will be saying, “I told you so!””
What did Moi tell you yet it was never made public? Could he have warned you on crimes against HUMANITY? Or was it he overlooked Akiwumi and Kiluku reports and now you are exposed since you can defrentiate Mass murder and Mass Action?

“I am worried .. … By the time 2012 comes .. Raila will be hanging out with Martha Karua and some sellouts from Rift Valley including Henry Kosgei while Ruto and others are languishing in some dirty jail somewhere.”

What a better place for Ruto to be other than in a dirty Jail somewhere. You are so final thats where Ruto will end. What do you know that we don’t?.

Kip even if those who committed these crimes go free, they will die out of Guilt and so will be their Children and generations to come. MUNGU HALALI NA HANA CHAMA KENYA.

Ngonjeani hukumu kama si ya ICC ni MUNGU.

    AMEN.
