Opening of Primary and Secondary schools in Kenya have been postponed up to 15th January. The move comes in the wake of political violence precipitated by a secret installation of Mwai Kibaki as President of Kenya. So far, over 300 Kenyans have been killed in the violence.
Banks have been unable to operate while ATM machines are also dead. There is food shortage because shops and Supermarkets have not been operating. Shelves in the few Supermarkets that have been open have been emptied.
Rumours that former Dictator Daniel arap Moi fled the country are not true. Through the media, the former Dictator has appealed to Kenyans to maintain the peace although this plea is likely to go unheeded because Moi campaigned for Kibaki who stole the vote after he was defeated by Raila Amollo Odinga.
