The Kenyan Ambassador to Scandinavia H.E Mrs Purity Mihindi has come under fresh attack by a leading Kenyan Pastor in Stockholm. Speaking to KSB, Pastor Beatrice Kamau said that the Ambassador should be recalled because Kenyans have lost hope in her.
“When she was posted to Stockholm, we thought that the relationship between the Embassy and Kenyans in the Nordic region would improve but so far, the situation has only gone from bad to worse”, she told KSB.
When asked to specify the major grievances leveled against the Ambassador, Pastor Beatrice said that the recent move by the Ambassador to create a data base of personal information of Kenyans in the Nordic region was the latest indication that the Ambassador was idle.
AMBASSADOR KINYANJUI WAS BETTER
“James Wuod Maggero’s body was cremated in Sweden and the Embassy never intervened. Instead, they boycotted his memorial service that was organized by Kenyans so what is the role of the Kenyan Embassy in this region?”, she posed.
She also cited the case of Mr. Njenga Muirani who was fired by the Embassy so that a Swedish company could take over his job as a gardener. Mr. Njenga was employed during the reign of Ambassador Kinyanjui but when he was fired, the Embassy refused to pay him for work he did at the residence of the late Mr. James Kiboi.
“What is the meaning of sending a person like Mr. Njenga forms to fill in his personal details when the Ambassador even denied him toilet facilities before firing him from his job to employ a Swede?”, she asked.
Pastor Beatrice said that although the former Ambassador Kinyanjui might have sold land belonging to the Embassy, he was much better than Ambassador Muhindi because he kept touch with Kenyans while he organized meeting whenever Kenyan dignitaries visited Stockholm.
“While Ambassador Kinyanjui used to attend Kenyan functions and even sponsored events in Stockholm, Ambassador Muhindi has decided to remain in hiding as she carries herself like a Princess at the Kenyan Embassy”, she said.
DESTROYING FOUNDATIONS BUILT BY KIBOI
“It is unacceptable that the Ambassador has even intimidated junior staff at the Embassy who have stopped attending Kenyan functions fearing that they may be sacked from their jobs Njenga style”, she said.
“The death of Mr. James Kiboi was very unfortunate because Kiboi was a uniting force between the Embassy and the Kenyan community in Scandinavia. Instead of continuing from where Kiboi had left, the Ambassador is destroying the foundations Mr. Kiboi built and this is unfortunate”, the Pastor told KSB.
Pastor Beatrrice said that Ambassador Muhindi has a negative attitude towards Kenyans in Stockholm because she believes that Stockholm is a city of Kenyan rebels in the Diaspora.
“When she came to Stockholm, she was fed with a lot of propaganda against Kenyans in Stockholm by Embassy sycophants and this is why she fears coming out in the open to introduce herself to the community”, she said.
EMBASSY SERVING FOREIGN INTERESTS
The Pastor reminded KSB that when Kenyans were brutalized by racist Swedish guards at Slussen recently, “the Embassy did not even take contacts with these Kenyans to find out how they were doing so why are they asking for personal information of Kenyans in the Nordic region?”, she asked.
When KSB sort to know whether Pastor Beatrice had filled in and submitted the “Embassy forms”, she said that she tore them into pieces and threw them into the dustbin.
“This is a big joke because when the Embassy was inviting Kenyans to the Jamhuri celebrations last December, they did not send the cards to a lot of Kenyans whom I have spoken to because they said that they did not have addresses of Kenyans. Now that they need people’s personal details, they have suddenly found addresses of Kenyans. The forms should be treated with the contempt they deserve”, she said.
She said that it is the responsibility of Kenyans in Scandinavia to talk about the situation at the Embassy and to “let Kenyans at home and abroad know how the Embassy is performing”.
“Embassy staff are here on tax payer’s money and if they cannot deliver, this has to be known”, she said.
The Pastor told KSB that the Ambassador is not interested in serving the interest of Kenyans in Scandinavia because the Embassy was here to serve political and economic interests of Westerners.
“This is the reason why the Embassy cannot intervene when a Kenyan is attacked by racist guards or when the body of a Kenyan faces cremation without the involvement of family members back home”, she said.
“The job of the Embassy is to issue visas to tourists who want to travel to Kenya, help Westerners strike business deals in Kenya and promote the exploitation of Kenyan resources by western companies”, she told KSB.
She said that it was for this reason that the Embassy was employing white Swedes to work in sensitive areas and firing Kenyan nationals from their jobs to be replaced by Swedes.
“The Embassy never gets involved in problems facing Kenyans in Scandinavia because they know their master”, she said. It was one of the most scathing attack directed at the Embassy in recent times.
Last week, Moses Trubadur,a Kenyan musician, delivered an attack on the Embassy and the new missiles that have now been unleashed at Ambassador Muhindi will further damage her reputation and dent her credibility even further.
The refusal by the Ambassador to meet Kenyans in Stockholm is probably the biggest stumbling block between the relationship of the Embassy and Kenyans in Stockholm.
