Betty Mboya, a Kenyan resident in Stockholm, has said that she is not responsible for the deportation of anybody to Kenya 12 years ago as is being alleged by a cross section of Kenyans. Speaking to Kenya Stockholm Blog, Betty said that she has decided to use all media available within the Kenyan community in Stockholm to clear the air about serious allegations that have constantly been leveled against her.
“I would like to inform all Kenyans who have been talking behind my back that, I have at no time deported anybody to Kenya as some people are alleging”, she told KSB.
Betty said that whenever she goes to a public meeting, people wait until she is gone then they begin to gossip that she once deported someone to Kenya without naming names.
“She is urging whoever is interested to get in touch with her for further clarifications”, she said.
According to the allegations, Betty allegedly called police who arrested and deported a Kenyan national who had no residence status.
“We are all Kenyans and I do not see why we should spoil other people’s names for no apparent reason”, she said.
The Kenyan lady said that instead of talking behind her back, Kenyans should confront her with evidence and say whom she allegedly deported to Kenya.
Betty said that she has decided to clear her name publicly on the mentioned allegations because she was tired and sick of them.
“I am not that kind of person and I would like to encourage Kenyans to get in touch with me for any clarifications”, she said.
Kenya Stockholm Blog has established that in the recent past, a Kenyan male and a Kenyan woman were deported to Kenya under unclear circumstances.
Betty said that she has no link to the two Kenyans. When asked why someone should spread false stories about her, she said that it could be her enemies who want to malign her name and bring her reputation into disrepute.
Betty’s move to go public with the issue was unprecedented in Stockholm because many Kenyans prefer to deal with personal vendetta without involving available Kenyan media in Stockholm.
