Muirani Dismisses Rumors About “Missing” Harambee Funeral Cash
Mr. Githuku wa Muirani has dismissed rumors spreading in Stockholm that he never sent cash that was raised by Kenyans in Solidarity with the family of three Kenyans who were recently murdered in the United states.
A group of Kenyans called KSB to complain that cash that was raised at Muirani’s residence in support of the family never reached Kenya. Because of the seriousness of the allegations, KSB took contact with Mr. Muirani to establish Ukweli wa mambo.
According to Muirani, the money was sent via Western Union to the bereaved family. Muirani said that the Kenyans who were brutally murdered in the United States were his cousins and that it is on the strength of this relationship that he called a Prayer meeting at his residence as part of the mourning process.
The Kenyan politician produced a receipt from Western Union indicating that a total of 7.440 kr was sent to the family with 440 kr being transaction fees. The cash was sent on Sunday, 12th August 2007 to Maria Njeri Gakunju, a family member of the deceased. The sender is indicated as Mr. Samuel Muirani with the question code being “Who sends money”? The answer to the question is “My cousin”.
The exchange rate at the time of the transaction is indicated as 9.1 Ksh per Swedish krona. The receipt, which bears Muirani’s signature, has the Kenyan’s address and home telephone number. KSB has checked “Money Transfer Control Number” with Western Union which has established that the number is authentic.
Asked why the malicious rumors could be spreading in Stockholm, Mr. Muirani said that they are being spread by well known political enemies who are out to tarnish his good name because of serious political differences.
“How could I have gone public to thank Kenyans and friends who attended the Prayer meeting and who contributed money if the money was never sent to Kenya?”, he posed. He said that KSB is accessed by Kenyans around the world and that if his intention was to sit on the money, he couldn’t have gone out publicly to announce that money had been raised.
Mr. Muirani, who sounded very disappointed with the dirty games his political enemies are using to fight him, requested KSB to scan the receipt and publish it for purposes of putting the record straight and to “ashame” his detractors. He said that he knows the people behind the rumors although he refused to name names. He warned that such dirty tactics were self-defeating and advised those who do not agree with him politically to fight him politically instead of engaging in witch-hunting.
KSB INVESIGATIONS ON LINKS TO ANTI-MUIRANI RUMOR
According to investigations by KSB, the group that is spreading the rumor could be linked to a clique of diehard Narc-Kenya Scandinavia members that has vowed to “finish Muirani politically” because of his perennial opposition to the self-styled Narc-Kenya Chairman Mr. Daniel Mwaura. This clique is constantly looking for Muirani’s political jugular allegedly because on two separate occasions, Muirani has tried to dislodge Mr. Mwaura from the position of Narc-KS Chairman using different tactics. Muirani apparently believes that Mwaura’s leadership is wanting.
On one occasion, Mr. Muirani is said to have masterminded a coup that nearly overthrew the Narc Kenya leadership before Mr. Mwaura moved with speed to diffuse the coup. Within Narc-KS, it is well known that Mr. Muirani has serious political differences with the leadership while at the same time, it is an accepted fact that Muirani has been working 24/7 with some Narc-KS members to seize power within the Party.
After the failed coup, Mr. Muirani regrouped his forces and launched a new assault on the Party leadership in a second bid to take it over. This time round, Mr. Muirani is said to have masterminded an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to elect a new Narc-KS leadership in an attempt to bring down the Mwaura-led group. Before the AGM, Mr. Muirani is said to have embarked on an intensive recruitment campaign of new members into Narc-KS to establish a base within the Party and to gain a numerical advantage over the Party leadership.
When the AGM was eventually set, some new members who had joined the Party without an understanding of the real power struggles at play developed cold feet, allegedly forcing Muirani to calm down the plans. From then, Mr. Mwaura is said to have “declared war” on Muirani. Mwaura has convinced his most loyal Generals that “Narc-KS has its own owners” and that Muirani is not part of the club.
For this reason, the Mwaura group within the Party has had to constantly strategize against Mr. Muirani and his supporters. The brain boxes behind Mwaura’s defence mechanism are said to be Mr. Peter Gitau, Mr. Kenneth Wamburi Munge and Ms Ann Njenga. The trio are believed to be the real forces that keeps Narc-KS alive although with the support of other big names in the background who are also opposed to Muirani.
If the current anti-Muirani rumors spreading in Stockholm are part of a “Master Plan” to check Muirani’s “dangerous advances” within the Party, then they could have been triggered by the recent launch by Muirani of the “Kibaki-Tena” Lobby group in Scandinavia. Backing Muirani in this initiative is Mr. Bryan Njoroge aka Njoro, a Narc-KS member who resigned from the Party’s committee as a result of the heat that was generated by the failed Muirani-backed coup attempt against Mwaura. Both Njoro and Muirani share a common distaste of what they view as a weak Narc-KS leadership.
For example, Njoro believes that some Narc-Kenya politicians are too unpopular to sell the Party to Wakenya. In a recent blogment, he wrote: “some Narc-Kenya politicians are too unpopular to sell the idea of Kibaki’s re-election; they have become liabilities and not assets”.
Although Njoro was referring to politicians in Kenya, pundits in Stockholm immediately interpreted his abrupt and unprovoked rant as a thinly veiled attack on Mr. Mwaura and the wider Narc-KS leadership which opposition within the Party equate with “liabilities” and not “assets”. Mr. Njoro, who has become Muirani’s right hand man and leading compatriot in the Narc-KS wars, did not hesitate to attack Narc Kenya politicians who have been against the formation of “Kibaki Tena” lobby group whose Scandinavian branch had just been launched by himself and Muirani. He wrote:
“Some politicians within Narc-Kenya have been critical about the lobby groups which are seeking and soliciting support for the president. Their suspicion on figures leading these groups is unnecessary and they should instead reinforce with tactical ideas of how best to fuel this machine”.
The wobbling nature of the statement aside, the Scandinavian branch of the lobby group is largely seen by Narc-KS leadership as an attempt by both Njoro and Muirani to set up an alternative “Center of power” around Narc-Kenya Scandinavia and to usurp the responsibilities of the Party’s leadership. The lobby group was set up without the blessing of the Party’s leadership which views it as an alternative platform to both Muirani and Njoro after the duo failed to get a foot-hold within the Party’s Executive committee. From the point of view of the Mwaura group, the lobby group’s main agenda is to undermine Narc-KS leadership as it goes about projecting itself as the real force behind Kibaki’s re-election in Scandinavia. The big risk is that if the Lobby group could gain a serious following, it could render Narc-KS irrelevant or dispatch the Party to the grave altogether.
FORMATION OF “KIBAKI TENA” CAUGHT NARC-KS LEADERSHIP WITH PANTS DOWN
Under “democratic circumstances” the formation of such a Lobby group should have been ratified by Party members either at a member’s meeting or at a specially convened “Conference” while its mandate should also have been subjected to debate before being made public. The lobby group should have been endorsed by the Party’s Committee while officials of the group should also have been elected democratically by the members. This did not happen because it was a Muirani-Njoro Project clothed as an innocent child born to oversee Kibaki’s re-election.
It is very interesting that Narc-KS leadership has not reacted publicly to the formation of the Lobby group, probably fearing that any assault on the group could further complicate the internal wars within the Party and confuse the loyal membership. What is certain is that the formation of the group caught Narc-KS leadership with its pants down. The lobby group is likely to remain a monster Narc-KS Top brass will have to deal with in the future especially if it begins to undermine the authority of the Party in the run up to elections in December.
According to an insider within Narc-KS leadership, the Muirani-Njoro propelled Kibaki-Tena Lobby group is disruptive because it gives its initiators independent and uncalled for links with Kibaki team in Kenya, a privilege the Mwaura-led group would like to retain. Secondly, it is seen by the Mwaura group as further evidence that Muirani is still determined to position himself within the “center of power” of Narc-KS using any methods available.
Those who are opposed to Muirani’s machinations within Narc-KS did not attend the Prayer meeting where the funds were raised. For Muirani, this could have been strong evidence that the battles within Narc-KS continues and the current attempt to use the issue of harambee Funeral funds to malign his name is just another tactical Narc-KS balistic missile fired in an on-going battle for control of the Party. Narc-KS power brokers boycotted the Muirani Prayer meeting, a clear signal that something is amiss within the Kingdom of Narc-Kenya Scandinavia.
Taking Mr. Muirani for granted within the Party might, on a long term, prove expensive for the Narc-KS leadership because Muirani has a resilient capacity to resurface when you think that he has been cast into political oblivion. If the rumors emanate from Muirani’s enemies within Narc-KS, they are retrogressive because they help to draw sympathy in Muirani’s direction within the ordinary membership, a factor that might boost his popularity within the Party thereby according him the lee-way to take over the leadership through democratic channels.

James Kiboi “Thanks Giving Service” On Saturday 8th September
It is now 1 year since you went to be with your creator. It has not been easy at all without you. There is not a single day that has gone without us talking and thinking about you. Memories are still fresh and many things and incidents remind us of you. When we see families together, we feel your absence. When kids run to hug their fathers, there is always a flashback. Husband and wife together, there is a longing!
With the same measure that we have remembered you, God has continuously reminded us that he is with us. He has been with us and has eased the pain and anxiety that came with this great loss! He has been, Immanuel; God with us!
There are days when life lost meaning and all we wanted was to be with you. You just left without a warning .We wish we read the signs or even got a hint. We have wondered how it happened, what was it like? We have wondered what it is like on the other side, is it better for you?
The children’s questions are still endless and many times the answers are not satisfactory. As a wife, I have told God many times that I did not choose that option. Your being away has complicated our lives and has forced us to make adjustments that we don’t want to make. They say life must go on and it is a fact, but it’s not easy. We have at times to explain ourselves why we have done things in a certain way all because of you.
The sad faces of your parents and siblings don’t make it any easier. James we miss you so much, it still hurts, the pain lingers on.
We thank the Almighty God for his steadfast love and his abundance. We thank God for the church, friends, families and the Swedish authorities for the endless support. We thank God for the Government of Kenya that has stood by us all through. May the Lord bless you abundantly!
You are dearly loved and missed by your dear wife Catherine, the children Tanya and Josh, parents, brothers, sisters, relatives, friends and colleagues.
There will be a thanksgiving service at Immanuel International Church (Kungstensgatan 17,at the Tulesalen) in Stockholm on 8th September 2007 at 5p.m, all are welcome. Family and friends in Kenya will also be meeting in Kisaju (Kajiado North) on the 15th sat at 12 noon for prayers.

Racism: New Law On Discrimination Should Be Welcome News
A new law that is soon to come into effect in Sweden should make a big difference in addressing rampant racism and discrimination of immigrants especially Africans in Sweden. According to the law, two civilian police offices will now be stationed outside major restaurants to monitor whether guests with dark skin color are being discriminated against when it comes to admission in restaurants.
In Stockholm, the situation has been pathetic with Africans avoiding specific restaurants where they are sure they will not be let in because of their skin colour. In some cases, Africans have suffered paralysis after suffering brutality at the hands of violent security guards who prefer to use force to silence a guest protesting against discrimination.
Just like other Africans, many Kenyans have fallen victims to these kinds of attacks especially in Stockholm. Although many cases always go unreported, others have found themselves in the Swedish or other media.
In one of the worst cases which was later thrown out by the courts, Albert Taabu, a Kenyan artist, was beaten unconscious by security guards at Tre Ramare restaurant in Stockholm some years ago under circumstances that pointed to racism. Mark Gaya called an ambulance which took Taabu away. When police arrived at the scene, there was no case “due to lack of evidence”.
A Gambian national who was also brutalized at the same restaurant had to undergo brain surgery to save his life. He was beaten senseless by one of the guards who later escaped prosecution because according to police, the case was not strong enough to be taken to court. The case had been weakened by police themselves because they refused to allow a live parade where the Gambian could have identified the guard who beat him up. Instead, they said that pictures would be used. When the Gambian protested that he could not identify the guard through pictures, the case was dropped “due to lack of evidence”.
According to the new rules, any suspected case of discrimination will now be taken up on the spot by plain clothed police who will stand as witnesses. Once a case of discrimination is suspected, the restaurant will be ransacked and the management questioned to verify any arguments used by the guards to stop dark skinned guests from getting in.
The leading reasons normally include excuses to the effect that “You are not dressed properly”. This normally happens even when you have put on your “Sunday best” clothes. You can also be told that you are drunk. In a funny case, a Kenyan teetoller was denied entrance because he had “consumed too much alcohol!” When he protested, he was pushed away and told to leave the scene. He refused and decided to call police, not to establish whether he was drunk but to establish whether he had consumed any alcohol. He believed that police could use their alcohol meter to prove the guards wrong.
We pitched tent at the entrance to wait for police because we believed that this time round, the guards had been caught with their pants down. When police arrived, they said that they could not use the meter to resolve the case because the meter can only be used in traffic related offences. They also refused to intervene to enable the Kenyan to be let into the restaurant arguing that “he could go elsewhere”.
ANONYMOUS JOB APPLICATIONS
They argued that the restaurant was a private business and that it’s the management which decides who comes in. We were a group of Kenyans and we were surprised when police later gave us an ultimatum to leave the vicinity or face arrest. They feared that after the altercation, our presence at the scene “was a security risk”.
Sometimes, you can be told that you are wearing the wrong pair of shoes or that the restaurant “is for members only”. When you try to dig how you can become a member, you can be told to “come during day time and talk to the boss”.
One day at Stureplan, an immigrant who had been discriminated against contacted his friends and they came back with an AK 47 rifle and sprayed the guards with bullets causing fatalities. The action was seen by immigrants in Sweden as a consequence of racism and discrimination at restaurants across Sweden.
Today, it is standard procedure for guards across the country to wear bullet-proof vests because of growing number of shoot-outs and knife attacks by immigrants fighting back discrimination or ill treatment by security guards.
According to the guards, they are normally given instructions by their bosses on whom not to let in. Apparently, Africans are normally denied admission at pubs because when they drink, they make a lot of noise thereby scaring away Swedish customers who end up avoiding restaurants frequented by Africans. When this happens, the restaurants have maintained that they normally have to put up with huge losses because Africans and immigrants generally never spend huge amounts of cash on food at restaurants unlike the Swedes whose culture includes dinning at restaurants.
Another argument is that Africans are normally more interested in taking away the white girls for “extended exercises” and not drinking per se. These excuses could be true or false but the fact is that racism and discrimination by security guards has been rampant.
Now, when you are refused entry because the restaurant or club is for members only, plain clothed police should be able to go in and establish whether this is true. If this is not true, a case is supposed to be filed on the spot and charges brought to court for justice to be done.
The rule should now be extended to the labor market where immigrants are not getting jobs they are qualified to do because of the colour of their skins. Authorities have been playing with the idea of anonymous job applications as a way of addressing the problem although it is still not clear what will happen.
In a celebrated case, a Kenyan doctor was relieved of his duties because elderly white patients he was dealing with notoriously reported to nurses that “They never saw any doctor inside there”. “There is no Doctor. There is just a nigger sitting in there”. When they were reminded that the nigger is the doctor, they simply said “Aldrig i livet” which means “Never in my life”.
In an experiment which was conducted in Stockholm by a University student, a very dark African male never managed to sell sausages at a street kiosk but when he was replaced by a blondy the following day, the sausages started selling like hot cakes leading to questions as to whether the Swedish society was racist or xenophobic.
In the mean time, the new law on restaurants needs to be celebrated because it is an admission by the Swedish authorities that the problem exists and it needs to be tackled. The Swedes have been pretending that the problem does not exist.

ODM-Scandinavia Members To Meet At Pavilion On Friday
Members of ODM-Scandinavia will meet at Wananchi Pavilion on Friday this week to chart the future of the Party and to examine latest trends within the Party at home and abroad. Members and other Kenyans interested in politics have been meeting informally at the Pavilion every Friday and during the last two weeks, heated discussions have centered on why Kenyans in Stockholm have been unable to unite politically especially on the question of dual citizenship and voting from abroad.
According to Tonny, a Kenyan who introduced the topic and who tried to argue vehemently about the need for Kenyans to forget their political differences and push for dual citizenship/voting from abroad as a united entity, the main problem lies in lack of initiative.
Tonny believes that different Kenyan political parties in Sweden – ODM-Scandinavia, Narck-K Scandinavia, Chama Cha Mwananchi and other formations should address the twin issues of dual citizenship and voting from abroad as national issues of interest which surpasses political or ideological differences.
An opponent of this view reminded Tonny that in as much as the idea was splendid, political differences between Kenyan political parties in Sweden need to be appreciated. The pivotal point in this argument was that a party like Narc-KS is campaigning for the maintenance of political status quo in Kenya and that under the circumstances, if the official government policy is not pro dual citizenship or voting from abroad, then attracting Narc-KS members into the campaign trail on the two issues might be complicated.
Mark Gaya, an ODMS member, told the audience that the problem is not just about lack of initiative. He said that Kenyans in Stockholm had no central meeting place where ideas could be discussed. He congratulated ODMS for having acquired Wananchi Pavilion, a place where Kenyans could meet and informed his listeners that the setting up of the Pavilion was a practical move that, if exploited, could help Kenyans in Stockholm discuss and act on issues that are of common interest to members of the community.
For ODM-Scandinavia members, the big project after the nomination of Hon Raila Odinga as the Party’s Presidential candidate is how to plan the campaigns from Stockholm and how to utilize the campaign period to build the Party branch in Scandinavia.
Discussions are also expected to center around completion of the “harmonization process” of the Party through the construction of a new web site and how the Party branch in Scandinavia can reach out to other branches in the Diaspora for purposes of sharing strategy and comparing notes in the new political dispensation.
Most importantly, members of the Party would like to discuss the Party’s approach to key questions in the post election period which is expected to usher in an ODM government in Kenya. Many members believe that the issue of dual citizenship and voting from abroad are part and parcel of political support of ODM in Kenya and that these issues must not be left to take back stage.
Another issue is the fate of the Kenyan Ambassador to Scandinavia H.E Mrs Purity Muhindi whose behavior is incompatible with her role as the representative of the Kenyan government in Scandinavia. Members are expected to discuss recommendations on what should be done with her once ODMS seizes power in Kenya.
The meeting on Friday starts at 18.30 and members are requested to keep time. Further information can be obtained through the ODMS Chairlady Mrs Hellen Opwapo.

Passport Application: Embassy Writes To Principle Immigration Officer
The Kenyan Embassy in Stockholm has written a “Letter of concern” to the Principle Immigration Officer in Nairobi regarding the Passport application of Mrs Anna Okoth which has not been processed more than 30 weeks after she submitted her Passport to the Embassy for renewal.
In a telephone contact with the Embassy, Peter, an Officer in charge of Passports, said that the Principle counselor Ms Jenipher Awuor wrote a letter last week to follow up the matter because the processing of the document had taken an unusually long time.
“I have a letter before me here and it was written last week. It is addressed to the Principle Immigration Officer and it is a very strong letter. It was written by the Principle councelor”, Peter said on telephone.
The long delay in processing the Passport was brought to light by KSB last week after the applicant took contact with the blog to request that the case be highlighted.
Speaking to KSB, Anna said that the extra-ordinary delay in processing her Passport was worrying her because she had not calculated that she would be unable to travel outside Sweden for a period of six months.
“I have already missed a planned trip to London and Germany. My freedom of Movement is being violated by the Kenyan government which is delaying in processing my Passport for reasons that have not been made clear to me. This is unacceptable”, she told KSB.
She said that withholding of Passports of Kenyan citizens belonged to a by-gone era and appealed to the Kibaki government to address the issue urgently.
She said that it was important that Kenyans abroad follow the case closely because anybody can become a victim at any time.
“We, Kenyans abroad, should not be in a situation where if you submit your Passport at a Kenyan Embassy for renewal, you cannot be sure when you will get a new one”, she said. She said that the concerns the Embassy is expressing now should have been expressed long time ago although she welcomed the move as “positive”.
She thanked KSB for taking up the case and promised to update the blog site in case of any further progress. She said that she will wait for a week before taking fresh contacts with the Kenyan Embassy in Stockholm over the issue.

Raila Odinga’s Nomination: A Congratulatory Note From ODM-Scandinavia
After months of waiting for the nomination of the main opposition candidate to face President Mwai Kibaki in December, Hon Raila Amollo Odinga was eventually nominated to lead the struggle against the corrupt Kibaki dictatorship. The cost of the process included a split in ODM-Kenya, a shift of political parties by the progressive wing of ODM-Kenya who joined the original ODM, hasty political re-alignments in reaction to the new situation that had just emerged, political rallies by ODM to check its support bases and a huge planning of the nomination process in less than 21 days.
When the nomination was over and Raila Odinga emerged the winner with a landslide vote, all losers congratulated the winner. The transparent and democratic nature of the whole process insulated it from post-nomination grumblings by losers while it also protected the Party from internal splits which could have undermined the call for unity by leading Party members.
The Orange Democratic Movement in Scandinavia has just finished its “process of harmonization” that ODM-Kenya Party branches throughout the country underwent during the better part of last month. Fortunately, ODM-Scandinavia members did not have to go through the process of nominating a candidate fit to challenge Kibaki because Party members had already done so in April this year and come up with Hon Raila Odinga as the best challenger.
Following the conclusion of the nomination process, ODM-Scandinavia takes this opportunity to congratulate Hon Raila Odinga on the occasion of his democratic nomination as the Party’s Presidential candidate. Secondly ODM-Scandinavia would like to congratulate all presidential candidates who participated in the process and who displayed a high level of maturity before and after the nomination process. We are referring to Musalia Mudavadi, Willian Ruto, Joe Nyaga and Najib Balala who convinced Kenyans that they are democrats who are genuinely interested in being part of the defeat of the Kibaki dictatorship in December.
We welcome the emergence of Raila Odinga as the major link man of the Party. We also welcome the nomination of Musalia Mudavadi as his running mate. With the nominations over, the next big task is to enter into election campaigns and to ensure that President Kibaki returns to Othaya in December as members of his Mount Kenya Mafia cartel are weeded out of State House by January 1st next year. The clock is ticking.
The nomination of Raila Odinga has eventually vindicated ODM-Scandinavia members who had to face attacks from different directions after the Party members decided that Raila be the person to face Kibaki. Those who did not have the advantage of political perspective even used the issue of the nomination to try and split the Scandinavian branch of the party. Fortunately, the Party had a strong leadership and traitors who had infiltrated the Executive committee and who embarked on opportunistic attacks against the Party leadership using the Raila nomination were all uprooted from the leadership by members before the situation returned to normal.
In nominating Raila Odinga, ODM members have, in reality, began writing the political obituary of the aging President Mwai Kibaki whose return to State House seems impossible from the point of view of ODM voters.
The nomination of Raila should raise hopes among Kenyans who are tired of being led by thieves and robbers who have stolen from public coffers for decades and whose rightful place in today’s Kenya is prison, not State House.
RAILA ODINGA: THE PEOPLE’S PRESDIENT
For the last five years, Kenyans witnessed the degenerative nature of the Kibaki dictatorship which, just like Moi’s 24 years of misrule, was marked by high level corruption, land grabbing, open theft of public funds, rule by the Mafia, deceit of the public through bogus Commissions and Task forces, unspeakable tribalism especially in the appointment of public servants, nepotism, large-scale insecurity, entrenchment of poverty across the country, eviction of Kenyans from land they have settled on, murder of Kenyans by security forces going by all sorts of nicknames just to mention but a few.
Wananchi witnessed how President Kibaki backtracked on the issue of a new Constitution, how the President betrayed the MoU and how he cheated Kenyans on the question of creation of half a million jobs per year. Throughout his leadership, Kenyans have had a second round of misrule by a Mafia cartel which has been surrounding the President and pulling the strings from behind.
On the basis of his politics, consistency, fore-sight, patriotism and background, ODM-Scandinavia believes that Kenya needs Raila Odinga as President of the Republic. Raila is not just a nationalist, Pan-Africanist and liberator. He is also a team player who listens to opposing views. This unique Presidential candidate is an accomplished political strategist whose political acumen has been well tested in the field.
Raila disrupts when it is necessary and this is why he disrupted KANU to make it impossible for the dictatorial Party to return to power. He stands aside when necessary and this is why he said “Kibaki Tosha” before proceeding to campaign for Kibaki as the old man sat on a wheel chair. Kibaki became the President. Raila prefers to suffer other than compromise his political ideals and this is why he has gone down in history as the longest serving political detainee in Kenyan’s recent history. Most importantly, Raila takes the challenge when necessary and this is why he has been in the frontline in fighting to be Kenya’s next President.
The nomination of Raila Odinga to take up Kibaki is a high point in the country’s history because for the first time, Kenyans have the opportunity to install a President who has not been tainted by corruption since the days of the so called independence. Kibaki and his predecessor, Moi, have been reading from the same script for decades and it is not surprising that in his desperate attempt to protect wealth stolen from Kenyans during his time in Office, former dictator Moi has supported Kibaki in his bid for a second term in office. The nomination of Raila Odinga last Saturday is a positive signal that change is on the way in Kenya’s political leadership and former dictator Moi is very disturbed by this fact for obvious reasons.
With the nominations over, ODM-Scandinavia wishes to assure all supporters that the Party will now embark on a virulent campaign to ensure that Kenya gets the leadership it deserves during this difficult times. We appeal to ODM members to do everything within their means to support Hon Raila Odinga and his team in clinching the country’s leadership.
We believe that a Raila government will not just deliver a new Constitution in record time but will also address the issue of corruption in our country, eradicate tribalism that has been dragging the country backwards and institute other measures aimed at correcting the ills of not just the Kibaki dictatorship but also Moi’s 24 years of misrule.
At the Constitutional level, Kenyans abroad need dual citizenship, an issue that Kibaki has ignored throughout his reign at State House. Kenyans abroad need to vote from abroad in order to eradicate the current state of disenfranchisement of the community. Our country is sick and therefore, needs a visionary leader like Raila Odinga. The Kibaki government is a sinking ship that will go down with everybody that is still riding in this ship. We say Kudos to all delegates who voted for Raila Odinga and to all those who accepted the wishes of the majority. After more than 4 decades, there is real hope that Kenya will get a “People’s President” who will rule in the interest of the people of Kenya. We say: “VOTE RAILA AMOLLO ODINGA FOR PRESIDENT!”
