Wednesday January 9,2013 – Prime Minister Raila Odinga‘s Presidential bid got a major boost on Wednesday after Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo ditched the Pambazuka Alliance for Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).
Jirongo, who is also the Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) party leader, will be officially received by the PM at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
Jirongo’s defection was predicted by Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Eugene Wamalwa last week who wished him well as he joined Raila’s bandwagon.
This is a major boost for the PM in cementing the Luhya swing vote which has been divided by the entry of Amani Coalition Presidential flag bearer Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi.

Jirongo has lost political direction and can no longer be taken seriously. Is he not the one who was scuttling for the so called LUHYA UNITY? I now understand that he has all through been fighting for Luhya supremacy but he has discovered that he has been overshadowed by all including political amarteurs within the region. Let us hope he has gone back for new lessons from CORD.
