Kenya-Stockholm women appear to have changed strategy in fighting men who manhandle them at home or in public. In a dramatic case that is set to hit the courts at Flemmingsberg tomorrow Wednesday September 23rd at 14.00 sharp, a Kenyan woman has taken a Kenyan man to court for having hit her hard following an after Party brawl at the famous Red-Line Disco in Sätra.
According to the woman, she is taking legal action to warn men that time of battering women and getting away with it is over. Attempts by some good Samaritans to settle the matter out of court have been fruitless.
After the woman was beaten, police was called and since her condition was deemed serious, she had to be admitted to hospital for further examination and treatment. Witnesses are expected to give evidence in a case that has attracted enormous interest in Kenya-Stockholm. It is probably the first time a woman has taken a Kenyan man to court claiming damages for having been beaten.
According to a KSB agent dealing with the case, numerous Kenyan women have taken off duty to attend the case in solidarity. The women believe that they need to make a statement that any violence against them will no longer be tolerated. According to their ring-leader, “an attack on one Kenyan woman by any man is an attack on all Kenyan women”.
The case carries a prison term of at least two years while the court may also opt for a fine whose figure will depend on the level of physical damage. A blow could cost 5.000 kr but since the woman has also claimed mental and psychological torture, it is not clear how much the guy may have to pay in case the court opts for a fine. Nobody knows how the case will be decided and at the moment, it’s a wait and see kinda situation. KSB is following the storo.

As a woman I commend the victim by taking a bold move and having this man in court. I hope she doesn’t change her mind. Men who feel the need to hit their women are cowards and obviously do not love them. If you love someone, you would not want to hurt them in any way. Even if you had a disagreement, both parties should be albe to talk about it and come to an agreement.
It’s time men like these stopped using Kenyan culture to feel justified in how they treat their women. It’s about time they educated themselves on what a relationship between a man and a woman is all about. I am glad that countries like Sweden, US and others have strict laws when it comes to women and children. In my opinion, he needs to go to jail, and pay for what he has done. Most of all, I hope that men learn how to LOVE their women. It means being a team, a partnership, and a commitment in the relationship or marriage. One cannot be the enemy of the other, the two are friends and are on the same team. Treat the other person as you would like them to treat you. Remember, loving your neighbour as yourself begins at home. You cannot love other people and be nice to them, if in your own home or relationship you are not practising the same.
Finally, I pray that the victim of violence and abuse will heal from her trauma and become stronger. I hope she does not go back to the abuser.
WOW! This is hotter that the summer. We await with gaped mouths to hear the outcome of this grand case. I heard yesterday that this is payback for what the woman sees as continuous bullying of women by the man.
