One notable development after the publication of the “Inside Edition of the Hellengate Scandal” is that the exposition vaporized comments on the subject, probably as commentators took time out to imbibe details of the story that had began to assume the twists and turns of a comedy. However, there are still unanswered questions in the case.
Just like any other immigrant from Third World who arrives in Sweden on a tourist visa against a background

of poverty and deprivation, Hellen is not alone when it came to the lure of settling in Sweden amid the glitter and seemingly organized life-styles of the national Swedish population. It is her methods that have drawn a lot of ire from the general Kenyan and Swedish publics.
Theoretically, it is almost unlikely that Hellen could have become pregnant with Chentelle if she knew that her Nigerian boy friend was paperless while it is also almost certain that her “know it all” friends could have allowed her to proceed to be ballooned by a “U-boat” who was living “under water” (paperless) because such a pregnancy could not only have been useless in terms of paper-making but also a sheer waste of time and energy unless it was based on a special kind of love.
For this reason, it is probable that Hellen acquired a secret pregnancy to trap the Nigerian boyfriend thinking that he could make paper and this should explain the shock and panic that caught up with her when she noticed that the Naija was also paperless.
Chentelle is three months old and therefore, a quick mathematical calculus indicates that she may have been born in August or thereabout. This should bring her conception to November last year meaning that Hellen must have come into “romantic contact” with Bryan after November last year (assuming that she dumped the Naija after conception).
This go-back in time is important because during this period, Bryan was spotted “on and off” with very cute girls in circumstances that suggested a romantic link. These sightings took place publicly at Kenyan parties so there is no speculation involved. Was he pushing Hellen by then?
According to Bryan’s mother, who spoke to KSB, Hellen’s friends who were allegedly forcing Chentelle on Bryan as the father, had earlier tried to lure him to play Daddy to another unnamed baby. Nothing can be made explicit here but it is almost certain that the baby in question is linked to a model-like Kenyan girl who came to Sweden under circumstances similar to Hellen’s – on a tourist visa – and invited by her quintessential sister.
According to intelligence gathered by KSB, the arrangement then was that Bryan adopt the baby under circumstances that are not clear then help with paper work. The bitterness of Bryan’s mother with Hellen and the clientèle of friends advising her is linked to the mother’s perception that Chentelle is the second “adoption project” to have been pushed by the “MTV girls” within a short span of time, the difference being that this time around, Chentelle was packaged as a real child of Bryan before Immigration authorities.
CHENTELLE WAS ADOPTED WHEN SHE WAS IN THE STOMACH
Those keen enough must have noticed a coded push by commentators that Hellen’s friends should come out and defend her in the face of vicious attacks, a call that was greeted with even more silence as close and trusted allies dug deeper into their trenches.
The problem is that in case these friends surface to intervene on behalf of Hellen, their Kenya-Stockholm enemies will get the opportunity to elaborately begin untying their linen to be washed in public using anonymous handles. In other words, enemies are literally “patching on top of trees” with AK47s and once Hellen’s friends surface, they will be shot. The situation is dangerous to say the least.
In the event of intervention by these friends, a sure collateral damage is that the Hellengate scandal may overheat and even explode because in the scandal’s underbelly is a series of “cluster bombs” that have only been prevented from exploding because of the meek silence by the cabal of friends.
In fact, the Hellengate scandal is so delicate that by trying to mid-wife it here at KSB, it would be correct to conclude that I am walking on a tight rope and that is if I am not between a rock and a hard place.
The first alleged adoption project of Bryan did take off the ground but as it was becoming air-born, the “adoption aircraft” ran into serious mechanical problems and it crashed, killing all plans of paper-making. Investigations into the wreckage revealed that the Swedish immigration rules of adoption were very difficult to penetrate under the circumstances that had presented themselves and the Committee of friends that was dealing with it decided to dump the idea.
The Hellen Network is predictably very conservative with information but according to raw harvests by KISS agents who have been digging 24/7 to try and reach the roots of the scandal as KSB readers camped on the door-step of the blog, Bryan was allegedly offered some unspecified amount of cash in return for his role as “Daddy” in the first adoption movie. This is not to suggest that Bryan took any money because there is no evidence whatsoever that has been adduced to this effect.
According to estimates, the first adoption project which aborted was tried in 2006 and when Hellen entered into crisis after she conceived, the idea of adoption was reviewed by the Panel of Hellen’s friends. The difference was that this time, problems which had led to mechanical failures of the first attempt were “fine tuned” to ensure that the project would succeed.
The adoption of Chentelle would begin when the baby was still in the stomach and the script of the movie would be re-written to convince Bryan that the baby was his for real. Further, some cash is alleged to have changed hands during the first adoption and since the plan never saw day-light, some Kenya-Stockholm theorists have told KSB that the second adoption was to act “as compensation” of the first which had failed while some extra cash would be pumped in if necessary. Once again, there is no evidence that Bryan was paid any money and when we dug deeper, the issue remained at the allegation/speculation level.
DID IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES SMELL A RAT?
Despite what has been said about him, Bryan is a very intelligent young man, radical with a Pan-African ideology, nationalistic but at the same time humble and very sympathetic. People who know him say that he is in the business because he genuinely wants to help this poor mother and her daughter Chentelle whom he has claimed, is his daughter.
What the MTV girls did is that they used the “tougher” aspects of Bryan’s character to turn him against his mother who is opposed to the Project while exploiting his humble side to recruit him as part of the solution to Hellen’s paper problem. Part of the bitterness of Bryan’s mother is linked to the pain of the MTV girls turning his son against her in order to use him in their paper projects. For the MTV chicks, the fall back is that Bryan is old enough to make his own decisions.
There is no denying that Bryan has had a romantic relationship with Hellen. However, the relationship is said to have started and intensified at an alarming speed during the initial stages of Hellen’s pregnancy. According to pundits who even insinuated a “one night stand”, the terrific intensification of the Hellen-Bryan sweet love had one agenda. To enable Hellen claim that Bryan had ballooned her using the sporadic articulations as evidence that it was Bryan.
Throughout our investigations, it emerged that Hellen has been rather careless with her handling of Bryan because she has been accused of saying that she has nothing to do with Bryan. Observers who know her and who have allegedly heard her outbursts believe that her connection with Bryan is paper work and that she still loves the Nigerian even though the guy has his own problems.
The reason why Hellen’s sister is being condemned as “nasty” is because it is assumed that she and her friends knew that Bryan was not the guy but that they had embarked on a mission to make it look like it was Bryan in order to trap him. Paradoxically, Hellen’s sister is very bitter with her for some unknown reasons. She seems to believe that Hellen is irresponsible although this is another part of story.
It was important for Bryan to claim fatherhood in the case of Chentelle because if the case went to the Immigration with Bryan claiming paternity, it would be much stronger since Bryan did not just have papers. He has acquired Swedish citizenship and it was unlikely that the Swedes could deport the mother of a child whose father was Swedish.
DOES HELLEN HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE CRISIS?
The theme of the Aftonbladet article, which was crafted to seek sympathy and to put Immigration officials in an awkward situation, was that Chentelle’s father is Swedish. Bryan’s Kenyan roots was never mentioned because this could have diluted the claim of Swedish citizenship. But being a Kenyan nationalist that he is, Bryan came back to KSB to assert that he doesn’t like being referred to as “Swedish citizen”. He not only asserted his Kenyan roots but also underlined his Luo heritage which he traced to Sudan and other environs.
As Hellen’s pregnancy developed, she was advised by friends to wait until her tummy was pronounced before she could make an application. The application appears to have been dismissed in May this year, time when she had not yet delivered Chentelle.
What this means is that the immigration must have smelt a rat because it is not possible that the application could have been dismissed without proper reasons especially if the father was “Swedish”. There are several examples where mothers have been granted permission on grounds that they were expecting or had delivered babies and the case of Hellen should have been no exception.
Hellen could not have gone to Aftonbladet if the case was still under consideration and her publicity stint suggest that she appealed against an earlier negative decision and the appeal was dismissed. Despite what has already been said about Hellen, the big question is whether she has a workable solution to the crisis because at the end of the day, it is Chentelle, Bryan and Bryan’s mother who are suffering in this case. To be continued in P3.
Okoth Osewe
Just wondering why its so wrong for Bryan to decide to adopt the baby even if shes not biologically his. We all did not come from Kenya with our papers so what is so wrong if Bryan wants to help her. Why are we publishing all her dirty laundry knowing that it will jeopardize her already delicate case? I totally understand that the circumstances surrounding the whole saga r not the best but there´s an innocent baby involved and I believe that she doen´t deserve all these.
Mama watoto: The piece does not say anywhere that it is wrong for Bryan to decide to adopt the baby. Babies are adopted in Sweden everyday. True, a baby is involved. If you read the article, it says: “…the big question is whether she has a workable solution to the crisis because at the end of the day, it is Chentelle, Bryan and Bryan’s mother who are suffering in this case”. KSB believes that there is need for a solution to the crisis to avoid further suffering of the victims.
Mama watoto, I think you should just read the story and enjoy it instead of being emotional. Bryan has all the right to adopt a baby. But tell that to her mother and you will begin to understand the problem. You are Mama watoto. Will you sit by and watch if you were mama Bryan or can you tell us what you will do.
She said that Hellen and friends have refused to talk to her and also refused that she cannot meet Hellen’s mother who is currently in Sweden. It is good to make papers and everyone has a story to tell. But what is moral and acceptable and what is immoral and unacceptable? I hope you will answer these questions. Thank you and may God bless you.
If I was mama Bryan I would trust my son to make his own decisions and support him. We r talking about a grown man doesnt he have a right to make his own decisionS? Why is he a victim? Its like Hellen n the so called mtv girls put a gun on his head! plz wachaneni nao! Godbless
Mama watoto (no.1): There is absolutely nothing wrong with Brian adopting the child. What is inherently wrong is the alleged processes that Hellen and her friends have all along been using to acquire the highly desired residence permit. It is such callous moves that have incensed the commentators who have acquired a lynch mob mood on Hellen.
You may not have read thoroughly the original story, comments and summaries in Aftonbladet and KSB or have just decided to focus on the baby because you feel her presence justifies Hellen’s actions. The Swedish authorities know so well that a child is involved and maybe that is why they ordered Hellen to leave Sweden (without her), in order to see how she would react. Take note that the Swedish Migration Board had already served Hellen with a deportation order in May 2008, possibly on suspicious grounds. She gave birth in July as per the Aftonbladet story, so felt energized to claim her stay in Sweden. For all they care, the daughter can be sent to a foster home which is not news because such has happened before in weird cases. Their problem is Hellen and not her daughter who is already registered as Brian’s child according to my understanding of his mother’s interview with KSB.
Osewe has explained that many women have given birth even after being found to have overstayed in Sweden, yet were not sent back to their motherland to process papers. Hellen probably panicked at the thought of going back home to wait for her papers, which prompted her interview with Aftonbladet to solicit public sympathy. Some of her comments in the interview drew venomous comments from readers who challenged her claims about the lack of childcare and a place to stay in Kenya.
Even Brian did not agree and commented that: “Not to mention I am proud of Kenya my native land in many ways and disagree with some things stated like “lack of healthcare”. A close relative of mine is a very highly qualified paedetrician not to mention the pro miti shamba doctors in the family too.” This means Hellen can have access to a child specialist in Kenya through his relative. He also emphasized that, “some facts in the article were simply wrong.” Brian’s initial comments disowned the interview saying he had not been informed about it. Surely, if Hellen was genuine, why did she have to be interviewed without Brian? I quote him: “I knew about the whole thing after the interview had taken place and I also agree it would have been more proper had I been involved.”
According to some sources, Brian does not want to take a DNA test. However, his mother wants him to do so to ascertain the child’s paternity. Ask yourself why Brian’s mother is against his actions. Since your handle reads “mama watoto”, would you support or disown your child if at a certain stage in life, he/she gets manipulated by people for personal gains? Remember that this story involves a third party (a Nigerian man that Hellen professes her deep love for), yet has no papers. Brian is therefore supposed to deliver the papers. Is Hellen selfish? I think so.
Thank you KSB for providing people the forum to hear about this heart-rendering story. As a member of Brian’s family and a mama watoto myself, I urge all readers to give us a fair hearing.
Every mother raises their child with the aspiration that they make good with their lives. It is also the natural instinct of a mother to protect their child from danger (even if that child is considered an adult by social standards).
For those who support Ms. Hellen and her motives, just remember that you could be in the same shoes as Jacqueline or Brian – it could happen to you or someone in your family one day. So ask yourself frankly, what would you do in such circumstance.
I don’t live in Sweden, but I’ve been full of admiration for the system that appears, to those of us on the outside, as very humane and lenient. Such incidents as these between Ms. Hellen and Brian, could ultimately lead to a tightening of the controls and block opportunities for future generations.
I urge all of you to bear these things in mind as you continue to debate and hopefully help Jacqueline, Brian, Hellen find a solution that protects each one’s best interest.
Family members adore the young man and respect his choices. Certailny however it helps to be nosier about people who turn to you only when their problems have reached fever pitch. What I do not understand is why they pick on a young man who they know very well that they distruct seriously from focusing on building up their career. Are there ulterior motives-why would it always just have to be him to be victimised to bail out and then dumped, scorned and made a laughing stock. Aren`t these classical opportunists who are just bent on creating tension between family members.
We should encourage and support our youth instead of getting them to clean our own messes that we have created
