Kenyan women in Stockholm have set up a new organization called Voice of Women (VOW). The organization, which is non-political and non religious, is an independent organization whose main agenda will be to create awareness on diverse issues among women and girls in Sweden and the world.
Membership to the new organization is open to all women and girls in Stockholm who are genuinely interested in bringing about change and transformation among women in Sweden and the world.
Those behind the organization are Pastor Betarice Kamau, Caroline Kanyuiro and Mrs Josephine Mberi. The organization will be launched on 8th March during the International Women’s day and all Kenyans of good will are invited. Although the organization will be controlled by women, men are also welcome to support, contribute ideas and help in any other way they deem fit.
After the launch on 8th March, there will be a Dinner Party that will also provide a platform for socialization and dissemination of information about the organization. The launch will take place at Pilotgatan 32 in Skarpnäck and all are welcome.
The initiative takers have appealed to Kenyan and Swedish women to arise and help build the new organization in the spirit of solidarity and togetherness.
