At the time of going to Press, Mr. Keegan Kagwe, a Kenyan national, was in police custody after being arrested by police who informed him that he was planning a “terrorist attack” at the Jamhuri reception.
Speaking to KSB at 1.20 AM from his police cell after being given his mobile phone, Mr. Keegan said that the police told him that he had been identified by Swedish security as one of the Kenyans who had masterminded a “terrorist attack” against diplomats which led to his arrest. Police told him that they had read details about the planned attack in the Internet and that they were taking no chances.
“I am speaking from police cell. My jacket, my wallet, my camera and all my belongings have been taken by police”, he said. Mr. Keegan, who was seen taking pictures at Jamhuri reception, appealed to Kenyans to mobilize and force the Swedish authorities to release him.
Guards at the Hotel Plaza had to bring in a wheel chair to wheel away another Kenyan who got so much zonked that he became unable to walk. The Kenyan collapsed in the hall and appeared disoriented, forcing the guards to bring in a wheel chair to transport him away from the hall.
Another Kenyan called police at the scene following a minor fracas at the Hotel. According to an eye witness, the Kenyan called police claiming that his hand had been cut with a wine glass after a brief scuffle.
A detailed report about the Jamhuri reception is in the cooking pot at KSB and will be released as soon as it is ready.
