Sports Association of Afro-Scandinavians (SAAS) invites all interested parties to a Workshop that will be held tomorrow, Thursday 7th July 2011. The purpose of the Workshop is to enable participants in the African Challenge Cup to reflect on their team interests, share their experiences and learn different modules that they can use in their respective clubs to integrate football with both culture and gender.
Through active participation, non-formal methods and experiences gathered during SAAS organized activities in the last one year, participants are expected to gain a wider vision on fundamental differences and similarities between cultures. They are expected to acquire tools for establishing necessary conditions for inter-cultural and inter-gender dialogue within the sporting environment while they are also expected to acquire capability to act in a setting of inter-cultural and inter-gender long term integration through sports. In particular our target audiences are immigrants, interested parties with immigrant backgrounds and socially disadvantaged groups.
SAAS is increasingly becoming visible in the field of African Sports in Scandinavia and we encourage participants to view this workshop as part of strategy to organize outside the field. Details of the Workshop are as follows:
