BN: Dr. Charles Njonjo is Dead

Body found today in Njonjo’s sixth floor apartment

A mountain of mails from inside the door was discovered by friends before KSB raised the alarm

Dr. Charles Njonjo Kangethe, a Kenyan who has not been seen in public for more than two months, is dead. Mr. Njonjo’s body was discovered today in his flat at Alby estate in Stockholm city after police was contacted by a Kenyan who requested that they investigate his whereabouts.

The police contact was taken after Dr. Njonjo failed to surface following a KSB appeal last week that he shows up. The appeal also requested any close relatives who knew his whereabouts to update friends who were getting very concerned.

Key Friends who had been trying to take contact with Dr. Njonjo for more than one month alerted KSB last week to the effect that a mountain of mails had piled up from inside his door, an unusual development that created suspicion.

According to information obtained by KSB, Dr. Njonjo’s two children have been informed about their father’s death although no further details were available.

“Friends have told KSB that after checking him at his apartment continuously for the last one month, and given the strange nature of the circumstances, they can no longer keep quiet thus this appeal. If there is no response, friends have told KSB that they will have to inform the Swedish authorities to open an investigation”, read the KSB appeal posted on 10th November.

Attempts by KSB to obtain further details regarding the circumstances of the discovery of Njonjo’s body in his apartment were also fruitless. What is known at the time of going to blog is that police broke into his apartment and found his body.

Dr. Njonjo, who was 74 years old, and who came to Sweden in 1959, had been living alone in his 6th floor apartment in Ably. KSB is following the story and will report on any further findings as they become available.

In the meantime, KSB sends deep condolences to the family of Dr. Njonjo following the tragic news about his death. We hope that the family will find strength to go through this very difficult moment of great shock and sorrow.
