Joseph Okulo’s Family Suffers Double Tragedy
Two family members dead
Mr. Joseph Okulo, a Kenyan resident in Stockholm, has suffered a double tragedy following the loss of two very close relatives within a short span of time. Mr. Okulo, who is also known within Kenya-Stockholm circles as “John Holiday”, lost his sister, Nevea Oulu Nyambok, after a short illness. When the news reached the late Nevea’s daughter, Grace Olewe, she also collapsed and died instantly.
Consequently, the family of Mr. Okulo has entered into deep mourning following the twin deaths. The late Nevea hailed from Asego, Kanyadar in Kenya. The bodies of the two are being preserved at the New Nyanza Provincial Hospital (Russian Hospital) as burial arrangements are made.
The family of Mr. Okulo has set up an “Open House” at their residence at Hörnsgatan 135 in Central Stockholm’s Business district where friends and sympathizers can deliver condolences.
The family told KSB that Kenyans have been under a deluge of bereavements prompting several fund raising functions and that they were not calling for any harambee. However, they would like to request Kenyans and friends who may be in a position to contribute to visit them at their residence or deposit contributions at account number 52360 00 4417 at SEB (SE Banken).
“The bereavements have left the family with a heavy burden and any contribution will be welcome”, Okulo’s wife, Mrs Petty Osewe Okulo, told KSB. Further information can be obtained through 0737883068.
KSB sends deep condolences to the family of Mr. Okulo. Obviously, the family is undergoing great shock following the loss of two close family members and, under the circumstances, the family needs all the support possible. We hope that the family will have the courage to go through this very difficult moment.
Okoth Osewe
