African X-Mass Party At Märsta 24/12
African Maison, a cultural group based in Märsta, has organized a get together party on the Christmas eve. The bash, which begins at 18:00 hrs, will be held at Central Skolan, address Skolgatan 5 in Märsta. Entrance will be freebut food and drinks will be in plenty at affordable prices.
Those who will use Pendaltåg as their means of transport are advised to alight at Märsta
station and walk towards the Corner Pub. Adjacent to the Pub is Skolgatan. Walk all the way to Central Skolan without branching anywhere. It takes only 5minutes.
Speaking to KBS the group’s Secretary Mr Charles Otieno Owiyo, was optimistic that the attendance will be overwhelming. Taking into consideration that at this time of the year, Swedes usually travel to the countryside while those who don’t are usually bound together with their families, this day is a very quiet one. “The Party will therefore be a good way of breaking quietness”, he said.
“Africans usually find themselves cornered with nowhere to go. The Party has been organized in conjunction with Center Party which has come out to help such groups in enhancing and promoting their cultural values when they are abroad”, said Mr Otieno. The Center Party’s representative in Märsta Mr Tengo Kilumanga who is also a member of the group will be in attendance.
As usual the spinning will be taken care of by DJ Jimmy who has just arrived from Kenya with latest numbers. He will be assisted, as usual, with co-partner Yunazi Mtana. Also in attendance will be Mark Gaya who is the Coordinator of the group while Mr. Okoth Osewe, the author of the new book, “Raila Odinga’s Stolen Presidency”, is also expected although he is yet to confirm his attendance. Mr Otieno takes this opportunity to wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year.
