Brother Muirani Appeals For Kenya Prayers
I would like to welcome Mr. Okoth Osewe’s comments on whether Kenyans in Stockholm
should turn to prayers as the solution to the many problems we do undergo here in this country.
As a Christian, I do believe that prayers can move mountains and that’s why am supporting, whole heartedly, Osewe’s comments.
When Jesus Christ started his Ministry in Galilee, his disciples one time asked him to teach them how to pray. That’s how Jesus came up with the Lord’s prayer. In part of the Lord’s prayer, it says: “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”.
The world we are living in today is full of temptations and all other types of evil. God, who is our creator, also created Satan who is the father of all evil. God also gave human beings the choice of doing good (God’s work) or bad (the devil’s work).
Why do people fall into temptations and do evil things? In the book of Genesis, we are told that when God created Adam and then Eve, they were forbidden not to eat one fruit and when the serpent lured Eve into eating that fruit, the blame game started there and it has been there since then.
When God created a helper to Adam, he was very happy but when God asked Adam why he has eaten the fruit, he said it’s the woman you gave me and in turn the woman blamed the serpent (Satan).
As human beings, we are very good in judging others and we do that according to what we hear and see but not according to what we cannot hear or see. That’s why Jesus said that “he who has never sinned should throw the first stone”. Nobody did that because all of us have “skeletons” in our closets.
When Jesus was crucified, we are told that one of the thieves went to paradise with him because he did acknowledge his sins and confessed them to God, but the people of the world had and did condemned him to death.
GOD LOVES MR. OSEWE
Ambassador Purity Muhindi, like any other human being, may have committed many mistakes (am not holding brief for her), but do we keep on condemning her or pray for her?
Those of us who are Christians are taught to pray for our enemies and even do good to those who do bad things unto us. All of us have a part to play in this world and God created each and every one with a purpose and role to play in this world.
The former Ambassador, Michael Arap Sergon, really opened the Embassy to Kenyans because prior to that, Prof. Idha Salim, Sergon’s predecessor, had surrounded himself with some sycophants (the Kamothos, Aringos etc) during the times of KANU ni mama na baba.
By taking Osewe’s challenge – whether we should turn to Bagarmossen (read church) and as a member of that church (Bagarmossen Outreach Ministry), first and foremost, I should give Glory, Honour and Praise to God because of giving us a place where we can congregate and worship the Almighty God.
We are so grateful to God because during the post elections violence, we did organize an inter- denominational prayer meeting to pray for peace in our country and God really answered our prayers because sanity returned to our country.
For any healing to take place, it has to start with oneself by praying to God for forgiveness because unless one does that, it will be impossible to forgive one another. Love is the only solution to many negative situations and if one asks “who is God”, God is love because love do cover a multitude of sins.
I take this opportunity to thank God because of his kindness and mercy and all the other Kenyans who have stood with my family during the difficult times of trials and other tribulations.
Mr Osewe, you are a creation of God and you did really have a major task in God’s kingdom. God created you with a purpose. Regardless of the way we see you as a human being, God loves you and he sees you as one of his sons.
Bagarmossen Outreach Ministries do meet every Sunday at 14.30-17.00, and we do welcome everyone regardless of race and creed. We do normally have prayer meetings each and every Friday, at individual’s homes and we can go anywhere upon request.
May the Almighty God be praised and honoured all the times. May bGod bless you all and let us embark on praying for one another.
NB. All this views reflects my opinion and not that of Bagarmossen Outreach Ministry.

KSB Statement Following President Obama’s Election
OBAMA’S YOUTUBE ACCEPTANCE SPEECH
The Kenya Stockholm Blog (KSB) takes this opportunity to congratulate President Barack Obama on the occasion of his election as the President of the United States of America.
The Election of Obama, a Kenyan-American, as President of the world’s greatest Nation is evidence that Kenyans and Africans in general are intelligent people who are capable of rising to the highest positions of leadership anywhere in the planet.
We, at KSB, believe that the election of Obama as United States President is not just a victory in the struggle against racism and discrimination against non white people around the world but also a huge psychological boost to non white people who have had to suffer the indignity of mental and psychological manipulation by agents of racism to reduce non white people to non-thinking human beings who are incapable of taking up positions of leadership especially in gigantic centers of power across the globe.
The election of Obama as President of the United States is a serious signal to the world at large that as members of the human race, we are the same and that it is important that this race unite to search for real and common solutions to problems facing the planet and the human race in particular because all human beings are born equal.
In congratulating Barack Obama on his historic election as the first Black President of the United States of America, White, Hispanic, Asian and other populations that voted for Obama forms part of the complex matrix that handed victory to this great son of Kenya. The African vote alone could not hand over victory to Obama. It is the united vote of Americans who were longing for change embodied in Obama’s message of change that made the big difference.
The election of Obama as President of the United States obviously triggers emotional feelings at different levels of the global support networks that have been following his two year campaign with bewilderment. Soon after the declaration that Obama had won the vote, some supporters were captured on video shading tears of joy as others went wild with ululations just before Obama appeared on stage to deliver his acceptance speech.
These sentimental scenes that played themselves over and over again were a collective statement that Obama had achieved a feat that was perceived only recently as impossible – the election of an African as President of the United States of America and consequently official occupant of the White House with massive political and military power at his disposal.
MAY THE MANTRA OF “YES WE CAN” SPREAD AROUND THE WORLD
At the psychological level, Obama’s election is a major boost to black and other none white people around the world who have had to live with the scourge of racism and discrimination especially in the United States and Europe where the general perception has been that there is a limit to the level Africans could rise within the established power structures and systems.
For white people who voted for Obama, a different kind of statement has been made – that not all white people are racist for how did millions of white voters endorse Obama for President of the United States if the country is populated by racists?
There is no denying that racists exist in the United States, some of whom even tried to assassinate Obama when he was on the campaign trail. However, the big point is that despite the racist tendency that surfaces in inter-racial societies from time to time (including Sweden), it is possible to fight racism through a united front comprising all races across the planet.
At KSB, we hope that Obama’s leadership at the White House will be dominated by efforts to pave the way for changes whose positive effects will reverberate across the world. The impact of Obama’s victory was not only felt in the United States. It was felt across the world and the implication here is that both political and economic decisions Obama will make as President of the United States will impact on other countries. It is for this reason that supporters across the world hope that Obama’s decisions will be guided by sound policies designed to make the world a better place to live in.
Once again, we say kudos to Barack Obama on his election as President of United States of America. Our congrants also goes to Michelle Obama who is destined to be the first African First Lady in the United States. Her support was key to Obama’s success and her role in the process cannot be quantified here at KSB.
May the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States of America inspire others after him to aim for even greater heights both in the United States and across the Globe. May the mantra of “YES WE CAN” spread across the world to inspire even greater deeds by people of good will across in the field of politics, economic, culture, science, technology and others. We boldly repeat: YES WE CAN.

Breaking News: Kenyan Lady Facing Deportation
Hellen Awuor, a 24 year old Kenyan lady, is facing deportation to Kenyan despite the fact that
she is the mother of Rennah Chantelle, a 3 month old baby fathered by a Swedish citizen.
Hellen, who came to Sweden on a tourist visa in 2005, overstayed then fell in love with a Swede who fathered her child. Now, the Swedish authorities want to deport her although she has stated that she cannot leave her child behind.
According to a Story published in Aftonbladet Newspaper today, the Swedish authorities say that she has to return to Kenya to wait for her residence permit because this is what the Swedish law says. The case has also been broadcast on Swedish radio.
The case of Hellen is not unique. She is another victim of growing institutionalized State racism and discrimination of Africans in Sweden.
Her case should fall under “special circumstance” which means that she is already a mother in a relationship with a Swedish man and, under the circumstances, she ought to be allowed to stay. The legal logic in Swedish law is that since her relationship has resulted in the birth of child, she will have to be allowed to stay regardless of whether she waits for her documents in Kenya or in Sweden.
Another point is that her child is a Swedish citizen and the big question is why a Swedish national by the name of Rennah Chentelle should be deported to another country (Kenya) which does not recognize her citizenship as a Kenyan.
Kenyans in Sweden should mobilize and defend Hellen against an illegal deportation that not only violates the Swedish law but also violates International conventions including the Geneva convention which guarantees the right of the child to access to parents as long as they are alive.
KSB appeals to Kenyans, friend and well wishers here to set up a “Defence committee” for Hellen to put pressure on the Swedish authorities to stop violating the law. The father of the child needs to come up to head the campaign while the Kenyan Embassy in Stockholm should lodge an official complaint to the Swedish authorities against this blatant violation.
Ambassador Purity Muhindi should alert the Swedish government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about what the Kenyan law says in relation to the citizenship of the child and refuse to cooperate with the Swedish immigration authorities in the impending deportation of Hellen.
